The speaker features a built-in 100-watt Class D amplifier, driving a heavy-duty 6" woofer and a 1" tweeter for full-range sound. The rechargable battery gives you up to 20 hours of life from a single charge, more than enough for your day at the beach, barbecue, presentation, or aerobics class. The unit's 4-channel mixer allows you to blend inputs from its 1/4"/XLR channel, the 1/8" channel for MP3 players and other portable devices, a USB wireless channel for the wireless mic, and Bluetooth streaming inputs. The XP106w also includes a line output that allows you to daisy-chain additional systems.

But it's the wireless mic that really makes the XP106w stand out from the crowd. This addition to the unit's range of other features is so logical that it's surprising we haven't seen it before. Reap the benefits of Samson's adventurousness, and start a new adventure of your own.

Solid, straightforward, good volume

Only used the speaker a couple of times so far but it has worked great. The bluetooth is simple, the microphone works without issue (has gain adjustment options) though the usb receiver for it is a bit odd (not sure why it wasn't built in)... The speakers can be daisy chained if you need more amplification. Solid construction and good power for a portable battery powered speaker.

Excellent piece of equipment. Great sound. Allows you to do so many things. I have used it with my computer for events at assisted living and memory care complexes. Used it at church and it sounded better than our hard wired system. Used it with the Bluetooth and my phone to play songs. Used it with my electric guitar. Lightweight, fast setup. No need to be a rocket scientist to use it

Pros: Light, long battery life for the speaker, good sound from the wireless mic. Wireless mic lasts about six hours on the batteries. Plenty of volume.

Cons: Needs a meter for the battery to tell you the tell you how much is used

We used this at a yoga festival to play music and paired it with the Shure hands free wireless microphone. We also used it for electric guitars and keyboards.

Pros: Great sound, fantastic value

Cons:

Works great

Got this unit for use by our volunteer fire department at fundraisers and gatherings. The mic has good range and the unit amplifies the voice cleanly and loud enough to fill the engine bay when filled with people. The multiple channels allows you to be streaming music from a source and still talk over the mic. Very pleased with the purchase.

Pros: Portable Compact Effective

Cons: None

Samson portable PA speaker and mic

Tom from Luray on 5/15/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This speaker lets you go wireless and play where there's no electricity. That opens up some new territory. Still waiting for a wireless headset mic to go with this in place of the hand-held mic.

Pros: Not too heavy. Wireless, bluetooth, works on rechargeable batteries. Plug it in to recharge when you get home.

Cons: Apparently can only hook up to one bluetooth device at a time from our iphone. I accidently hit the power button on the mic and turn it off every now and then. Perhaps that design could be improved on. Would prefer a wireless headset mic over the hand-held mic that comes with it.

Amazing

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had bought this to use for work on my machine I run every night and it absolutely overpowers my coworker's systems everyday, all day. I've had multiple coworkers stop me and ask me where I got it and what it was. Most of the time whenever I'm working near them, they turn their's off and listen to what I'm listening to.

Pros: Loud, clear, Great Sound Quality, Decent Battery Life

Cons: Haven't Found Any Yet
