Old School & Lovin It

John from Anderson, SC on 5/30/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Old school quality, old school turntable. Chose this after a friend recommended it. Couldn't be happier.

Pros: Sound quality is simply amazing.

Cons: Setup a little fiddly. Location/placement would make a difference for me but not much choice at the moment.

Frustrated

Dave from Vancouver, WA on 5/22/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've been shipped two separate turntables and they both produce fuzz in the left channel. Crutchfield had been really great about returns, but I'm still waiting for a turntable that works.

Pros: Return policy is excellent

Cons: Wouldn't need a great return policy if I received gear that worked.

Excellent for the price.

Awesome player priced fair.

Pros: High quality and lots of features.

Cons: Not automatic.

Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB

Anonymous from Kennewick, WA on 5/2/2018

This is a replacement for my mid-1970s Pioneer PL-71 direct drive turntable that could no longer hold pitch. The Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB tracks my albums better, and the stylus drop mechanism is nicely dampened--after positioning the tone arm over the desired track, you can actually let 'er drop and it will do the rest for a soft landing. Setup was clearly explained and was easily completed. As is usual, a cartridge-weight scale should be used to get tracking (stylus) force adjusted correctly. (I'm using 2.0 grams.) If using the markings on the tonearm's counterweight, set the scale to about 0.1 gram LESS than the markings indicated. Some folks complain about the short length of the turntable-to-receiver cables. Sorry, they need to be as short as possible (and preferably shielded) to minimize hum and distortion. To that end, I was surprised that there is no grounding wire on this turntable's cable assembly (although I do NOT have any hum whatsoever). The sound from the supplied cartridge is superb. I listened with pleasure to a variety of my rock and jazz albums from the 60s and 70s, and they never sounded THIS good, even back in the day. But what told be I was going to really like this turntable was an A-B test of The Beatles' "Abbey Road": a pristine Audio Fidelity half-speed pressing on JVC vinyl, and the EU edition of the 2009 Beatles Remastered project CD. Both sounded astounding, but it's really true: vinyl is better.

Cons:

Best cheap record player out there.

John from Fort Mill, SC on 5/1/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So Crutchfield has this on sale which was far less than any other store. It looks just like the AT1200 from the 80s and 90s. It plays great. I have only used the phono amp inside the unit. No line or usb out yet. There is an external strobe at line freq. to see the dots appear to stand still when the unit is at speed. Makes sense and works well. Unit doesn't use that strobe as a sensor. I completely blocked it to see if there was an internal sensor and it kept the speed. lt will compensate for resistance on the table. If you slow the record, the direct drive motor applies more torque and speeds up. If you remove the resistance it over speeds for a few seconds and auto corrects. Almost instantaneous start/stop and speed adjustments due to the direct drive and it actually uses reverse torque to adjust speed. Forward and reverse button is amazing. Up to speed in the opposite direction in about 1 second with perfect pitch. Speaking of which pitch control works smooth and there is a quartz button to override the pitch control and puts it right back on speed. So, evertything is great. Well, my concern is the burning smell. Other reviews have reported failure of the unit after burning smell. I have left mine powered on for a week and the smell is going away. It is probably a resistor that is not properly heat sinked or too small. This is a completely MANUAL table. It keeps turning and the head stays ON the rec

Pros: Everything. Perfect speed, Adjustable balance, Quick change heads, Direct drive, Now comes with a decent head. Possibly better than the AT 1200 it was made after. Just lighter and cheaper.

Cons: No automatic mode to lift head at the end of the record or stop rotation. One reviewer, John from Yukon, OK, said it has automatic start/stop but it does NOT. This is not a con, just know that this is a manual table. There is a lever in the back to lift and lower the head gently.

As a record player this unit is very good. I like that it has 4 legs, Automatic stop/start. I'm running it through a Fender amp and it sounds great. My only complaint the cords on the unit are shorter than I would like but I knew that before I purchased.

Replaced a Kenwood marble base turntable from 1977. Still works but the motor was failing. Love the AT-LP120 as a replacement for it. Was easy to assemble and sounds great. Have been buying a few new 180G albums and needed a turntable that wouldn't ruin new vinyl.

Turntable lacking

Richard from Spring Lake, MI on 2/8/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced my 22 year old Yahama turn table with this turn table. The turn table is well made. My old records sound as well as they are going too . I was not pleased with installation directions that came with the turn table. I called Tech support for clarification and resolved the issue. My rating is a four because the turntable mat was not included in shipment. The Matt is sub quality for the level of this table. I ended up using my old rubber mat from my Yahama which over 20 yrs old and far superior to the one eventually sent to me. Another complaint is the agent I ordered from was nice but having a bad day. He made several mistakes which I corrected. He did not tell me about the short cord that the Audio- Technical came with. It just makes the connection to my receiver which I had to move in order to connect it. The issue of the cord was also that I asked the agent if better cables would improve the sound quality.i did this before finding out the cable was very short so I order the cable and then found out that I could not replace the cable because it was soldered in to the table. I returned the cables. I judged this as poor service.

Pros: Build

Cons: Connecting cables that are too short and can not be changed. Poor quality turntable mat. Inadequate service when ordering the table .

Nice Turntable

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Staff assistance was very helpful in choosing the Turn Table. Delivery was very good, about four days, not bad for standard shipping. Assembly instruction were concise and easy to follow. Sound pick up is very good even on poor quality records and as good as any CD on good quality records. Very Satisfied!!

Pros: Fairly easy assembly; Great sound even on poor records; Great customer service assistance; fast standard delivery.

Cons:

I recently bought this turntable to replace a Dual 510. The new turntable is suburb in so many ways. I also bought it for its 78 rpm feature. I was worried that the Audio Technica cartridge wouldn't sound as good as the Audio Technica cartridge I previously owned To my surprise it sounded much clearer. I would recommend this turntable and cartridge to anyone looking for a very good piece of equipment.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received the turntable in 2 days! It was packaged well. The setup was easy, the hard part was getting my a/v system set up for turntable. It looks better than the pictures. I am pleased with how it sounds and works. Its got some weight to it, which is good.

Pros: Light to cue record. East to set up. Adjustable pitch. Looks great.

Cons: The lever to raise and lower tone arm is small and in the back. Clamp to hold tone arm is flimsy. Everything else about the turntable seems well made.

Donald W. from Prescott Vly, AZ on 12/4/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Turntable Audio-Technica (AT) is up and running. Outstanding value! I did quite a bit of research and this one kept coming back recommended as the best value for the money. Good sound with a great price point and it has an internal amp if you want to use it (I don't). I have it connected to an Onkyo TX-NR646 playing through ELAC B6 speakers and an SVS SB-2000 sub woofer (all purchased from Crutchfield!). I would call this a practically-priced, well-sounding system. The AT came packaged expertly. The setup is pretty straightforward, but there are two items that are a must. First, make sure your platter is level. The turntable has feet that are adjustable. Second, if you don't have a stylus tracking gauge, get one. You cannot do this without one. Use it to set your stylus tracking force on the tone arm correctly. Now you are ready to go! Another plus is that this is a classy looking player too...

Cons:

Hartzal from Navasota, TX on 11/30/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Been wanting this player for a while and this player plays awesome!! this device is the real deal. Get one and be prepared to be amazed. not a technics but impressive to me. i had a lot of turntables growing up. including ones that had multi record capability, belt, cog drives and 4 speed tables 16 ,33, 45 ,78. this is the first one i got that had direct drive, tracking force and anti skate that i have had and it plays great.

Pros: plays 40 year old records without skipping that my dad bought new in the 70's, some are even scratched . new records sound superb on this turntable.

Cons: does not have 16 rpm which can be slowed down to play with pitch at - 17.6 and still play those rare beauties. so really no cons.

A very solid, well-built turntable

Warren from Herndon, VA on 11/27/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a very solid, well-built turntable. I use it primarily to digitize LPs. The included Audacity software is reasonably easy to figure out. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it lacks an automatic tonearm return, which evidently is not a common feature these days.

Pros: Solid construction, highly adjustable tone arm. No descernable rumble.

Cons: No auto return for the tone arm.

AWESOME TURNTABLE

Raymond from Wichita, KS on 11/26/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I haven't owned a turntable in 40+ years. I have always had Reel to Reel tape recorders and other types of media. I decided to get back into spinning vinyl again. Overall it's a well built sturdy turntable. It's heavy..It's a replica of the Technics SL-1200 series of the 1970's with a few upgrades. It's a manual turntable meaning no automatic features. I would highly recommend it. I'm enjoying the use of it. Haven't had chance to use the USB/CD option yet.

Pros: Heavy, Good looking turntable, Well Built. Sounds Awesome.

Cons: No automatic features.

Excellent product... exactly what I wanted!

Carl from Ft Walton Bch, FL on 11/19/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

In the short time I've had the turntable, do not have any complaints. Set-up took me awhile, more because I'm slow and deliberate than any shortfall in the documentation. The turntable itself appears solid, from the chassis to the platter and tone arm. It's connected to an older Sony receiver that lacks phono input so am using the turntable's pre-amp into the aux input. Sound through the Klipsch Heresy speakers is precise and clear and much better than that from the 25 year old Technics that it replaced.

Great product thus far. Professional quality. Sounds great. User manual relatively easy to follow. Hookup and setup relatively easy. Looks professional. Only issue was when playing first record the right speaker did not have sound. Cartridge was ever so loose. Could hardly tell. Did tighten ever so slightly and issue has no repeated. So far so good. Would like to contact Crutchfield customer support to inform them of possible problem and to alert them to any problems related to my warranty in the future.

Pros: Great quality sound. Professional style turntable. Relatively easy setup. Operators manual very user friendly.

Cons: Don't know if this is an issue or not, but when I played my first record the right speaker did not have any sound. Cartridge was so very slightly loose. Not even hardly noticeable. Did tighten a little bit. Have not had issue since then. Probably need to contact customer support to make them aware of problem for future warranty applications.

Great Turntable for the price

John from Louisville, KY on 8/26/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The turntable was bought as a gift, but the recipient was incredibly excited about it. Its setup was easy and was quickly usable. He had kids who had never seen records and were quickly enamored by the experience when he busted out his old collection of LP's that had been stored in the basement. He told his wife that Christmas is going to entail the purchase of some new albums. The turntable and provided cartridge were high quality and my friend stated that he was amazed at the quality of the turntable. Bottom line is that he was totally thrilled with the turntable, noting that it played all speeds and had the USB connection.

Pros: Easy setup, solid quality.

Cons: None that have surfaced in its early use.

Excellent Quality, Reasonably Priced Turntable

Gail from Etna, WY on 8/6/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a sophisticated piece of audio equipment. After many years without a turntable, we purchased this well-reviewed unit and found it to be everything we expected and more. Installation was easy and we were immediately delighted with the output from our vinyl library. It also gives us the ability to transfer vinyl to other storage forms (DVD, CD, etc.) to preserve the recordings, some of which are one-of-a-kind records that we don't want to lose. Even the included Audacity recording software is a surprisingly robust program. We are quite happy with this turntable and would recommend it.

Pros: Easy to install, moderately priced

Cons:

Awesome Turntable

Dave from Auburn, WA on 7/27/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

OMG what a difference! I had been using a Kenwood belt drive turntable and it sounded pretty good or though I thought. As my Vinyl collection has grown I decided I wanted to try and get better sound. After reading all the reviews about this turntable I decided to give it a try. ELO never sounded better! I'm loving it! I am hearing sounds I never heard on my other turntable. Setup was fairly quick and easy. I recommend just following the directions from Audio Technica on YouTube. I found it much easier than trying to understand the written directions. I say Just buy it! you'll be happy!

Pros: Solid Construction, Easy Setup, Sounds Great right out of the box! Looks Awesome, Price is very reasonable for such a quality turntable.

Cons: I do miss the auto return when the record is finished playing but most high end turntables are built without the auto return these days. It's still a good tradeoff for the quality.

Robert from Seattle, WA on 6/26/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this turntable based on the many positive reviews even though though I really wanted an auto-return feature. So far I am really happy with the build quality and sound quality. I have this unit connected to my vintage Marantz receiver and don't really plan on ever using the preamp, which received less than positive reviews. The set up was very straight forward and only took a few minutes. Overall bang for the buck, you cannot beat the value per dollar of this one.

Pros: The sound quality is excellent right out of the box. If you are looking for a solid well built turntable that is easy to setup, and has great sound quality. Look no further.

I love this thing. Setup was pretty easy, with use of a number of YouTube guides (the instructions are a bit lacking, but look at them anyway), and it works beautifully out of the box. If you're going to get into vinyl, this is the place to start. Don't waste your money on cheap players; you might ruin your records, and your vinyl experience!

Pros: Plays literally any vinyl you put on it, and (shockingly) works seamlessly with software out of the box (no driver install or any other nonsense).

Cons: Does not automatically ruin Bieber albums when they're placed on the turntable.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very happy with the turntable. Nice and heavy. Has 78 speed and I have a special cartridge mounted to its own headshell for quick swaps. The cartridge that comes with the turntable is not designed to play 78's You can get a stylus for it but I recommend a mono cartridge designed for 78's The built in line level pre-amp is a little weak so I'm thinking of purchasing a separate pre-amp. I do wish they would sell a version of this turntable without the DJ features. I would also prefer to supply my own cables and not have the built in ones. It is still a great value and I highly recommend it.

Pros: Heavy and stable, 78 speed if you have those old records

Cons: built in rca cables, weak pre-amp

AT-LP120-USB is a Value!

Brad from Nashville, TN on 3/1/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There may be higher-end turntables on the market, but this is definitely the nicest turntable I have ever owned. I'm using this turntable in conjunction with a Schiit Mani pre-amp, Marantz SR5011 receiver and Klipsch Heresy I speakers and the combination is 100% satisfactory to me so far. I bought this turntable as an upgrade from the AT-LP60 and it's a night and day difference--I am much more engaged in the listening experience now. It is quickly apparent that this is a solid, well-built turntable. Frankly, I did not anticipate it being as heavy and well-built as it is. My only slight knock on the AT-LP120 is the size...this thing is massive! The height on this unit is over 6" tall with the dust cover on and nearly 25 pounds, so make sure you have adequate space. I do not plan on utilizing the USB functionality and have no comment on that functionality. All of the positive reviews I read before my purchase appear to be right on the money with the AT-LP120-USB.

Pros: Excellent build quality, ease of use, very good sound quality.

Cons: Overall size is quite large.

It's so easy!

Pete from St Peters, MO on 2/22/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the AT-LP120-USB for the express purpose of copying my vinyl albums that I've been unavailable find as CDs. So far I've digitized 15 albums and the turntable has performed flawlessly. I'm using Audacity 2.1.2 (Win10/64Bit) and the combination of the AT-LP120-USB and Audacity s/w makes me consider searching the vinyl bins at my local music store for those gems I can't find on CD. While I bought the AT-LP120-USB to transfer vinyl to digital, it's going to be a permanent part of my stereo system. It's a very good quality, well made and the fit and finish are pretty much all I could wish for. Note: the AT-LP120-USB comes with CD of Audacity s/w but it's an older version. It's no problem to download the latest and greatest from Audacity's website. Note: Searching for 'Use Audacity to digitise your records' returns what I think is the best video because it discusses how to set-up the Audacity s/w. The spelling of 'digitize' is the British way.

Pros: The whole thing!

Cons: Maybe - the felt mat lifts up with the album sometimes when removing an LP.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this turntable after the Technics SL230 I won in a bet in 1980 finally gave up the ghost. After spending a considerable amount of time reading reviews, the majority of purchasers rated the AT-LP120-USB quite high. I took the plunge and have been very happy with the performance, ease of set up and features. For me, it reproduces the sound beautifully and I anticipate owning this one for the remainder of my time on earth.

Pros: Ease of use and great sound reproduction

Cons: I haven't found any

Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB

William from Atlantic City, NJ on 1/29/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very easy to set up. The sound reproduction is good not great. The software is said to be very easy to use but that's hardly how I would describe any part of the operation. Editing is cumbersome and not at all accurate. I'll be searching for a better program. Hate to spend more money but if it will decrease the unacceptable amount of time to load and edit each album it will be worth it.

Pros: Ease of set up

Cons: Bulky, unfriendly software

Know EXACTLY what you're buying, then just have fun!

Tony from Hartford, MI on 1/24/2017

This is a turntable that is designed as a clone of the legendary Technics 1200 series. It's not quite that good, but for the retail price, you wouldn't expect it to be. If you accept this turntable going in for what it is, and enjoy the "hands on" part of working *with* it, it is an amazing value. But there will be additional expense. Not a heck of a lot, but some additional expense, yes. Such as? Well, the following are the minimum recommended additions: Audio-Technica's "heavier" counterweight (from LP Gear) - you won't regret it. A RUBBER turntable mat. Mine is a Rek-O-Kut, there are many others. Consider trying a cork mat, many rave about it with this table - I liked the rubber mat better. But, except for DJ work, ignore the felt "slip mat". If you have a good phono stage in your receiver or amp, you are good to go - set the switch on the rear to bypass its internal phono amp. If your receiver or amp does not have a phono preamp, get a good one (several for under $100). Optional: The built-in phono preamp is a turd, plain and simple. Consider removing it completely (excellent YouTube videos show you how). Bottom line? You have a manual turntable that will stand well head-to-head with many $700-$1000 tables. If you love the required steps to truly make this into a great table for an initial outlay, you can't go wrong.

Pros: Tremendous value for dollar, with caveats.

Cons: Horrid internal phono preamp.

Robert from Larkspur, CA on 1/16/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Substantial manual turntable as described Plays old vinyl classical collection perfectly. Replaces BangOlufsen Beogram 1800 automatic which died of advanced years. Sounds great with 35 year old BW DM7 speakers. It takes some time to set up tone arm and balance/anti skate but this 10 thumbed non tech managed it.

Pros: Solid, well built. No platter warp as noted previously. At 27 pounds, is not going to bounce across room like light weight plastic competitors costing much more with fancy reputations and high prices.

Cons: Manual operation

Before I bought this 'table. I did all the research possible read all the reviews and so forth. Now if you go to Audio Tech's web site bring up turntables etc click on the pic of the LP-120 and when the info comes up to the right it will say watch a video. You click on that and you will get a video as how to set up this "table. It's simple really. With the supplied cartridge AT-95E this is a good table out of the box. I've been listening to records since the late 1940's I was just a kid. I've been in the working segment of the music biz all of my life. I've listened to 25,000 dollar turntables and I've listened to Gerrard 29.95 record changers. This is a good piece of equipment well built and it will out live me. That being said There are a few simple things you can do to this "table at a minimum of expense. You need to get a cork mat. You should also get the the Ortofon 2M red. Get the whole assembly (shell and cartridge) factory mounted and aligned. Plus it's in a neat red and looks cool on your 'table. Change this out keep your other for a spare. You have to re-balance the arm etc You also should get a recokit clamp. Save your money it's worth it. What's also important you need to by pass the built in line pre-amp and use it in phono. This means you have to have a receiver integrated amp etc. that has a dedicated phono input. Or you have to buy a dedicated phono pre-amp So you need to do your research before yo

Pros: it's good piece of equipment well built and performs well past it's price point. Out of the box this is pretty good. if you do what I've suggested as to the upgrades. you will take this tables performance well past it's price point. it will sound better than all the other $500 dollar tables out there Pro-ject Music Hall Rega RP-1 etc. Plus it's better built. Now I'm not dissing on those other products. for "entry level" 'tables they're all quite good. I know I've listened to them all.

Cons: As I've stated in my main review, it's better to use this table in the phono out stage. The stylus gauge on my unit is 3.5 10ths heavy if you check it with a stylus gauge. don't like the hard wired RCA connects

Great Turntable, Great Value

Bruce from Maplewood, NJ on 1/12/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

fantastic turntable! the deck where the record sits is solid like a rock. setting it up was a bit of a process, but by watching the "how to video" it was actually super simple. I replaced a Yamaha, which had to be at least 20 years old. wanted to give 4.5 stars for the only shortcomings I see, which are minor. 1) would rather have RCA output plugs instead of a permanent wire coming out, and 2) the only feature I miss from the Yamaha is auto-stop when it gets to the end of a record. My guess is that this is a pretty low-end feature among audiophiles so I'll just drop it ;-) Overall a great value and a solid component. One other note: I have it connected via RCA's directly into powered Audio Engine speakers and it sounds great. Nice to have the USB option as well.

Pros: solid construction, USB and line-level RCA outputs, it looks great!

Cons: don't like the hardwired RCA cable coming out, no auto-stop. (VERY minor cons)

Good, but can be made better with mods

BIll from Wilkes Barre, PA on 1/12/2017

While a good turntable out of the box, this can be made a lot better for not much more money. The turntable is manufactured to look like the iconic Technics 1200 series, however, the build quality is a little less then the Technics (It is also ALOT cheaper). The cartridge that comes with this turntable is not bad, it is meant for listening and not DJ'ing, keep that in mind if you are a DJ. Replacing the cartridge with a Shure or other 2M series cartridge gives you even a better sound (very noticeable, see online videos). If you are not going to use the USB port, and don't need the preamp (your receiver/Processor has one built in, or you have separate one) I would remove the board in the unit, it is easy to go, and makes it sound a lot better. Removing the USB board / Preamp, will give you a better highs. I removed the board, and went to a different 2m cartridge, and the difference is Night and Day.

Pros: Economical, good cart out of the box, looks impressive, performs well.

Cons: RCA jacks are hardwired, preamp built in is awful

Good solid turntable.

Matthew from Malvern, PA on 1/1/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good solid turntable. Sort of the Honda Accord of turntables.

Pros: Built-in phono pre-amp sounds great. Strobe light is great. The parts that matter (i.e. tone arm, platter) are solid and well made. It's also heavy. Like 25 lbs heavy, which will limit vibration. It's also full feature: there's pitch control, forward/backward control, plays all speeds of records at the touch of a button. The cartridge/stylus included is very good and can be upgraded if desired.

Cons: One would be that the rca jacks are hard wired into the table. If they're too short, you'll need extenders or if your cat chews through them, you'll need a new turntable. Also, the motor is sort of noisy. I don't really hear it through the speakers, but still, it's not the quietest direct drive you could get. The phono pre-amp also runs through the same sound card the USB out is on that is a bypass from the tone arm to the rca cables.

I did a fair amount of research before deciding on a turntable. The turntable weighs close to 30 pounds, but is very solid. I had borrowed a lighter turntable from a family member, and it was very susceptible to skipping when people would walk in the same room. Not so with this one. Setup was easy. I had it assembled and balanced in no time. The built-in preamp sounds fine over my setup. Overall this is a solid turntable for anyone looking to buy their first turntable, and wanting something that will last for years to come.

Debated this purchase for a long time, but when price dropped the choice was obvious to me. This turntable exceeded my expectations in almost every respect and I would have given it five stars if it had leveling feet. This is a big minus to me. I am having to place shims under the feet in order to level the turntable. I may construct a platform upon which to mount the turntable and equip it with levelers at a later date, and admittedly our house is old and settling, but nevertheless this is a big omission in my opinion.

Listed as one of the best on consumer sites. [ DAVID  Nov 10, 2016 ]
Saw it in store. Looked well made. It is heavy. USB will allow me to put my album collection on computer. Believe the cartridge is better than on some other turntables I considered. Wish it was automatic though. [ REX P.  Mar 10, 2018 ]

I read several reviews from several sources and this product was consistently top rated for turntables with usb under $250. I could have bought from several sources but I picked crutchfield for all the great customer service I have read about [ Marsha Elaine  Dec 07, 2017 ]

I have an old PE 2020 turntable that after decades of storage has start/stop issues. Nobody on the universe wants to work on this unit. Choose AT based on specifications and reviews. Would like to have had an automatic but not a deal breaker. [ Mark  Dec 29, 2016 ]
I will be setting up after the holidays. I'll get back to you. [ JOE  Dec 29, 2016 ]

Jim D, The hardware, that is the turntable is compatible with any system having a USB connection. The software, Audacity, is a stand-alone product although it is packaged with the turntable - there's probably a new version out there. Google Audacity for the latest version. I'm pretty sure Audacity supports Win7 as either 32 bit or 64 bit. My machine is 54bit Win10 and my latest version is Audacity 2.1.3 Hope this helps. Dean [ Dean  Jan 17, 2018 ]
Jim, works perfectly in both operating systems. [ francisco  Jan 17, 2018 ]
You should never sit a turntable (or other piece of equipment for that matter) on top of an amp/receiver. There needs to be a good 4" of clearance to dissipate the heat they generate. [ Rod P  Aug 24, 2017 ]
The outside edge of the feet across the front is 17 inches wide, and the outside edge of the feet, front to back, is 12 inches deep. [ David  Jul 10, 2017 ]
I'm afraid the distance between the mounting "feet" is not listed in our research or the owner's manual for the AT-LP120 USB. I would recommend reaching out to Audio-Technica directly for more details on that--you reach them by phone at 330-686-2600 or check their support website: http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/site/1635df9c8c5039f1/index.html [ Larry  Jul 09, 2017 ]  Staff
Your vinyl records can be downloaded and recorded to your laptop or computer at CD-quality (16-bit/44.1kHz). I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan  Apr 05, 2017 ]  Staff
Matt I cannot answer your question because I have not yet tried the file conversion function of the turntable. I can tell you that I am extremely happy with the performance of the turntable while playing LPs. [ PAUL J  Mar 29, 2017 ]
Thanks for your question. With the cover open completely the height would be 16.25". Also another think to take into consideration would be the depth from front to back which is normally 14.25", when the cover is open it increases to 16". Hope this information helps. [ Kenny  Feb 14, 2017 ]  Staff
Louis I have hooked my turntable to my Denon AVR and have experienced no hum. The only ground I have is through the AC cord. [ PAUL J  Mar 29, 2017 ]
Hey Louis, I just jammed the wires into the receiver's phono input without doing anything fancy and had no hum. [ THOMAS  Jan 03, 2017 ]
~ 5 1/2 inches [ steven  Apr 30, 2017 ]
Roughly 4 inches to the top of the arm Thanks [ Wade  Apr 30, 2017 ]
6 3/8" from feet to highest point of tone arm assembly I have this unit in a space of 8.5" and I am able to change and clean LP's fairly easy. [ Robert  Apr 29, 2017 ]
Answered wrong question. Height of th=urntable surface is 3.5", height to tp of tone arm about 5.25" [ Gregory  Apr 28, 2017 ]
2.75 inches from the turntable surface. [ Gregory  Apr 28, 2017 ]
