Simple app control

Download the free RIVA WAND control app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play to start. The app lets you set up a multi-room audio system with other RIVA WAND wireless speakers, like the FESTIVAL or ARENA, via Chromecast built-in. Have all speakers play the same song, or have each speaker play from a different source.

The FESTIVAL is compatible with the Google Home voice controller (not included) for even more convenience. It can respond to natural commands, like "OK Google, play classic jazz in the kitchen."

built for high-performance sound

The FESTIVAL features three custom ADXT mid-bass woofers, each paired with a tweeter for accurate highs. Four passive radiators enhance the low frequencies for clean, clear bass. All are housed in a real wood enclosure for solid performance.

Each FESTIVAL speaker delivers stereophonic sound, ensuring your music will sound clear and balanced no matter where you stand in the room. And with 200 watts of power, there's plenty of volume to fill even the largest spaces in your home.

RIVA's proprietary 6-channel amplifiers use an advanced digital signal processor to ensure optimal sound quality from all your music. Each speaker delivers stereophonic sound, ensuring your music will sound clear and balanced no matter where you stand in the room.

Loud, Dynamic, Smooth and Soft on the High End

Sean from Durham, NC on 1/30/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wow does this speaker sound easy on the ears! I just wish it would stay connected longer to Chromecast. I tried Plex, the Riva app and the Tidal app and the speaker would routinely drop out and not show on the network. I would unplug the speaker and once or thrice, I had to manually reset the firmware. i didn't try the tech support or a replacement speaker. Even bluetooth wouldn't stay connected. This speaker delivers a rich, warm tone that doesn't 'offend' any instrument playback. The Riva Festival lacks some presence as compared with speakers that cost a couple of hundred more dollars (B&W Zeppelin for example). It does sound MUCH more dynamic than my Bluesound Pulse Mini and having true tweeters in the Riva really helps it's sound qualities. For a week I kept it connected to my Node 2 streaming player but thought that was silly given it should work with internal wifi. Oh the signal where it was located was very high. I even reconfigured the router and updated it's firmware for an hour. No change. I think the Zeppelin sounds more accurate and distinguishes instruments better.

Pros: Powerful bass, smooth midrange, deep bass for small stature.

Cons: Won't stay connected to the network. A bit too soft on the high end. Lacks presence of more expensive wireless speakers.

A great wireless speaker

John from Phoenixville, PA on 1/23/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Riva Festival did not disappoint with great quality sound. Speaker design with drivers and radiators all the way around requires adequate space for this large (heavy) unit. Range of sounds (lows, mids and high) is very impressive - notably the bass (as called out in many online reviews - I can corroborate the claims). I wound up returning the unit due to network connection issues. Not sure of the issue - location in house signal strength, perhaps power management?? - but my specific unit would never stay on network standby - I would constantly have to reconnect the device to the network. I am trying another brand that has wired option. I really loved the Riva Festival - I will follow up if I wind up trying again with a new Festival unit .

Pros: Quality of sound in all ranges, especially base

Cons: Wireless connection, your experience may vary

Competitors... beware!

Jamie from Long Island, NY on 1/15/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This speaker exudes build quality. The bass is quite remarkable for a cabinet of its size. I own another WiFi networked system but opted for this speaker based on reviews of its sound quality. Regarding the sound, I think it lives up to its very positive reviews. Volume fills the room. Highs and lows are well spread out. The bass is quite stunning from a box this small. It actually "pressurizes" the room with bass. Yet, it is quite realistic...Not boomy. Since I have gotten it, I actually spend less time listening to my main system. The Riva app suffices to connect to all of your networked music. But, is is rough around the edges compared to the industry leader's software. (I think it beats them on sound quality, though.) I saved at least $100 versus the brand I already had in my home. Spotify Connect works great. Chromecast works fine, Bluetooth works fine. This not a portable system. It is connected to wall power outlet. And it is quite hefty. For me this is a non-issue. This could be my only system and I could live with it. (I wish the major players would agree on a standard so that one could mix and match So__os and B____sound, Y_maha and D--non etc. but I won't hold my breath) I did receive a defective unit initially, but Crutchfield quickly handled a replacement painlessly.

Pros: Great sound. Clarity. Powerful bass. Lots of connectivity options.

Cons: The Riva Software is only fair. If they could add some more features and make it a little easier to manage local files, this would make it almost perfect.

Great sound quality and flexible music streaming capabilities

Steve from Chester, VA on 11/5/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the Riva Festival because of it's high quality audio and flexible music streaming capabilities, primarily Chromecast Built-in, DLNA, and Airplay. This allows functionality with all the different devices within my family and friends (Windows, Android, Google Play, and iOS/iTunes). I have only owned it for a few days, but the connectivity capabilities work flawlessly. The sound quality is great. I was hoping to be in the quality range of the Sonos Play:5, and feel the Riva Festival sounds as good or better. Multi-Room grouping works with Chromecast capable speakers and devices, using the Google Home app

Pros: Sound quality Chromecast Built-in, DLNA, Airplay, and Bluetooth Multi-Room grouping of different brand wifi speakers

Audio Section

ADX Trillium Audio Technology: The Riva Festival utilizes patented ADX Trillium audio technology that produces stereophonic sound from a single speaker. ADX Trillium up-mixes the left & right stereo signal and outputs it through six channels of amplification, three tweeters, three woofers, and four passive radiators to create a stereophonic image with a wide listening area much larger than the actual speaker size.

Multiple Driver Array: The Riva Festival is equipped with three tweeters, three woofers, and four passive radiators - all housed in a real-wood enclosure. The tweeters and woofer, positioned left, center and right, mix in-air to create virtual left and right speakers outside the enclosure. The four passive radiators use a symmetrical arrangement to balance the vibrational forces, converting more of the passive radiators' energy into sound with more low-end bass.

  • 3 Active Drivers: Riva's active drivers are high-output, wide bandwidth, compact speakers that deliver a much broader range of the musical spectrum without colorization or distortion.
  • 4 Passive Radiators: Riva's proprietary passive radiators are designed with dedicated dual suspensions and custom bobbins and frames to support the highly impressive low-frequency performance.

6-Channel/200W Total Amplification: Patented 6-channel amplification technology with a total of 600W and advanced digital signal processing maximizes audio performance and produces full-range, room-filling sound that you would not expect from an compact active speaker.

EQ Modes: With the free Riva Wand app on your Apple iOS 8.0+ or Android OS 4.4+ device, you can choose between four unique EQ modes to complement your listening application.

  • Studio Mode (default): Stereo audio is played back from one speaker with zero compression and no acoustic distortion.
  • Power Mode: Maximizes output for large areas and outdoors.
  • Stereo Mode: Allows you to pair two Riva Festival speakers together for true stereo sound with one speaker configured as the left channel and the other speaker configured as the right channel.

Multiroom Audio: The Riva Festival offers multiple connectivity options, from a single direct connection to a wireless networked multiroom audio system that can simultaneously stream to up to 32 speakers without acoustic latency. A Multiroom audio system can be setup via Chromecast Built-in and the Google Home App (for Apple iOS 8.0+ and Android OS 4.0.3+) or using the Riva Wand app (Apple iOS 8.0+ or Android OS 4.4+).

  • Chromecast Built-In/Google Home: You can create a multiroom audio system by syncing multiple Chromecast compatible speakers together and play the same Chromecast Built-in music app throughout your home.
  • Riva Wand App: You can create a multiroom audio system by syncing multiple Riva Wand Series speakers together and stream different music apps and connected sources to throughout your home.

Variety Of Sources

Only Chromecast Built-in compatible music apps are supported.

You'll be able to access a specific music app and then select a specific station or song using only your voice. You'll also have voice control over Play, Pause, Skip, & Volume. Note: The USB port does not support music playback from Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad or Android smartphones/tablets.

Optical Digital Input: The rear-panel optical (toslink) digital input lets you connect an external digital audio device with an optical output for audio playback through the Riva Festival. The optical digital input supports 2ch PCM only (not compatible with Dolby Digital/DTS or other multichannel audio formats).
