iSmartAlarm Spot Bundle
2-pack of wireless security cameras
Our take on the iSmartAlarm Spot Bundle by Crutchfield's Eric Angevine
The ingenious magnetic stand/wall mount built into the iSmartAlarm Spot makes it easy to place and aim.
Two compact, flexible, smart security cameras
My honest reaction when I first saw this pair of cameras was "Well, that's pretty cool!" Each iSmartAlarm Spot camera is a stylish cube with an ingenious fold-out magnetic stand/wall mount that makes it easy to place and aim.
Each can work as a standalone security camera, or you can tie them into your existing iSmartAlarm system to bolster your coverage. The iSmartAlarm system's CubeOne hub (not included) can monitor up to 10 Spot cameras, so you can cover a large home or business.
There are a couple of clever features you can use to get the most out of your pair of Spot cameras. Sound Recognition mode can identify the sound of carbon monoxide and smoke alarm sirens and notify you immediately. And iSmartAlarm's handy voice-guided setup gets you up and running in under three minutes.
Store and review footage
Each camera has a microSD card slot, so you can store up to 32GB of footage or stills in the body of the camera. If you find you need more than that, you can sign up for free cloud-based recording. You can also create custom time-lapse videos so you can review an hour, a day, or a week's worth of footage at a time.

Overview: iSmartAlarm is an expandable, do-it-yourself wireless home security system with no contracts or monthly fees. Up to 10 Spot (iSC5) smart camera can be added to your iSmartAlarm system (with a CubeOne alarm brain) to provide streaming high definition video to your smartphone, as well as free video capture and storage. Streaming video is viewed and all camera settings are adjustable in the iSmartAlarm app on your smartphone (requires iOS 6.0 or Android 4.0 or later). Spot can also be used as a stand-alone Wi-Fi camera (802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz). There are two Spot smart cameras in this package.
Wide Angle Lens: The camera has a wide angle lens that provides a super wide 130° field of view. For a closer look, you can activate a 4x digital zoom.
Resolution: Spot is equipped with a 1/3" CMOS image sensor, and can provide high definition H.264 video at a resolution of 1280 x 720 (720p). You can choose a lower resolution to use less bandwidth, however, the picture quality will be reduced.
Note: An upload speed of 1 Mbps or higher is required.
Video Storage: Spot has a slot for a microSD memory card for storing video. The camera will accept microSD cards up to 64 GB; no memory card is included. In addition, up to thirty 10-second video clips can be stored in the Cloud at no charge.
Time Lapse Videos: Spot can create time lapse custom videos that let you watch an hour, day, or week's worth of video in a short period of time.
Two-way Audio: The camera has a built-in microphone and speaker to enable two-way audio communication.
Sound Recognition / Motion Detection: The Spot smart camera can identify the sound of carbon monoxide and smoke alarm sirens and send a notification (via text, push notifications, email, or automated phone call) to your smart phone. Spot can also detect motion up to 20 feet away and send notifications to your smartphone. Sound and motion detection sensitivity can be independently set in the app to Low, Medium, or High in levels 1 to 9.
Night Vision: Built-in infrared LEDs automatically turn on when the ambient light is low to provide night visibility. At 0.5 Lux, the night vision range is approximately 30 feet (9.1 meters). The Auto On Night Vision feature can be turned on or off in your smartphone menu.
Installation: Spot can be placed on a shelf, counter, or other flat surface, or mounted on the wall with the supplied metallic base. The camera has an adjustable platform that allows you to raise, tilt, and swivel the camera nearly 360° for precise positioning.
Power Requirements: Spot is powered by a 5V / 1000mA DC power supply (supplied).
