AC1750 Dual-Band Smart WiFi Router: The NETGEAR AC1750 (R6400)
Dual-Band Smart WiFi Router offers improved performance and wireless coverage for your
entire home. With up to 450+1300 Mbps speed, simultaneous dual-band WiFi
technology, and three high performance antennas, it avoids wireless interference for
fast and smooth streaming with up to twelve more more wireless devices.
Compatible with next generation WiFi (802.11ac) devices, this router is also
backward compatible with 802.11 a/b/g/n devices.
- Dual-Band WiFi: Simultaneous Dual-Band WiFi provides
two separate WiFi networks - 2.4GHz for legacy devices and 5GHz which is
less interference-prone for media streaming. Simultaneous dual-band WiFi
reduces interference for better connections to more WiFi devices.
- WiFi (802.11ac): The NETGEAR AC1750 dual-band WiFi
Router is an incredibly fast router delivering AC1750 WiFi speeds. This
router offers improved performance and wireless coverage for your entire
home. It provides access that is 3x faster than similar 802.11n technology,
and delivers the speed and reliability for HD streaming and online gaming
throughout your home, through a secure and reliable connection to the
Beamforming+: Beamforming+ boosts speed, reliability, and
range of WiFi connections on 2.4 and 5GHz bands. Unlike typical WiFi routers
that just blast the WiFi signals in all directions; with Beamforming+ the router
& device communicate with each other, so the router can directly beam the WiFi
signal to the device. The result is a stronger, faster, more reliable connection
that is locked in even when the device is moved around the home.
Quality of Service (QoS): You can also use Quality of
Service (QoS) to assign a high priority to gaming and streaming video from the
Internet. Upstream Quality of Service (QoS) assigns a high priority to Internet
traffic from your gaming system, while Downstream Quality of Service (QoS)
assigns a high priority to Internet video streaming from websites like YouTube
and Netflix. WiFi Multimedia Quality of Service (WMM QoS) prioritizes wireless
voice and video traffic over a WiFi link. WMM QoS is automatically enabled for
the router. WMM QoS prioritizes wireless data packets from different
applications based on four access categories - voice, video, best effort, and
- NETGEAR recommends that only gamers enable the Upstream QoS
feature. If you do not game and you turn on this feature, some applications
might not perform as well as usual
- NETGEAR recommends that you enable downstream QoS only if you watch
streaming Internet video. When downstream QoS assigns a high priority to
streaming video, it also assigns a lower priority to the rest of your
Internet traffic. That means other tasks like downloading content from
the Internet take longer
UPnP (Universal Plug and Play): Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) helps devices such as Internet
appliances and computers access the network and connect to other devices as
needed. UPnP devices can automatically discover the services from other
registered UPnP devices on the network.
5 Gigabit Ethernet Ports: In addition to WiFi connectivity, the AC1750
(R6400) is fitted with five 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports (1 WAN & 4
