If you like to DJ, the 'table features a high-torque direct-drive motor that gets any record — 33-1/3, 45, or 78 rpm — up to speed in a hurry. Adjustable pitch control lets you change the platter speed ±10% or ±20% for easier beat-match mixing, and a pop-up light on the stylus helps you find your groove in a darkened club. The included detachable dust cover helps keep your 'table clean when you're not using it.

Q
When it says "manual" does it mean you put the stylus down and at the end of the record it goes back to the cradle and turns off ? Or do you have to retrieve the stylus at the end to bring it back up and into the cradle?
bruce m  Dec 23, 2018

A
For this turntable, you have to put the tone-arm down at the start and pick it up at the end. The little lever is pretty good about this - IF you're smooth in you actions when using the lever. You can of course do it by hand but I use the lever.

retrieve the stylus at the end to bring it back up and into the cradle?
jan s  Dec 30, 2018
A
Yes - you must retrieve the stylus at the end of the record. That is my sole complaint with this record player and I wish I had the automatic feature.
eric  Dec 30, 2018
A
It's manual BOTH placing the tonearm to start AND at the end of the record. I use the cueing lever to do both, although it would've been nice for it to return automatically at the end. I think that's what called a "semi-automatic" turntable.
rmichael  Dec 29, 2018
A
You have to retrieve the stylus at the end
john  Dec 29, 2018
A
You have to manually return the cartridge to the cradle.
robert  Dec 29, 2018

You retrieve the stylus
gabrielle  Dec 29, 2018
A
MANUALLY, you have to retrieve the stylus at the END of the record and BRING BACK to the CRADLE!
johnny  Dec 29, 2018
A
Retrieve the stylus, raise with lever and manually place it in the cradle.

jan s  Dec 30, 2018

Jim D, The hardware, that is the turntable is compatible with any system having a USB connection. The software, Audacity, is a stand-alone product although it is packaged with the turntable - there's probably a new version out there. Google Audacity for the latest version. I'm pretty sure Audacity supports Win7 as either 32 bit or 64 bit. My machine is 54bit Win10 and my latest version is Audacity 2.1.3 Hope this helps. Dean
dean  Jan 17, 2018
A
Jim, works perfectly in both operating systems.

Q
I know the total dimensions of the unit but what is the distance between the feet? Need to know if it can sit atop my amp which is 17-1/8" wide x 12-5/8" deep.
ryan  Jul 04, 2017
3 answers
A
You should never sit a turntable (or other piece of equipment for that matter) on top of an amp/receiver. There needs to be a good 4" of clearance to dissipate the heat they generate.
rodney  Aug 24, 2017
A
The outside edge of the feet across the front is 17 inches wide, and the outside edge of the feet, front to back, is 12 inches deep.
david  Jul 10, 2017
A
I'm afraid the distance between the mounting "feet" is not listed in our research or the owner's manual for the AT-LP120 USB. I would recommend reaching out to Audio-Technica directly for more details on that--you reach them by phone at 330-686-2600 or check their support website: http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/site/1635df9c8c5039f1/index.html

A
Matt I cannot answer your question because I have not yet tried the file conversion function of the turntable. I can tell you that I am extremely happy with the performance of the turntable while playing LPs.
paul  Mar 29, 2017
Q
I would be putting this in a built-in wall cabinet with limited headroom, and would like to keep the dust cover on. What is overall height with the cover open?
rmichael  Feb 12, 2017
1 answer
A
Thanks for your question. With the cover open completely the height would be 16.25". Also another think to take into consideration would be the depth from front to back which is normally 14.25", when the cover is open it increases to 16". Hope this information helps.

Q
Heard many reviews about if you bypass the built in phono amp and connect it to a pre amp or a receiver with it's own phono hook up their was a hum. How did you solve the problem? Did you ground the table in the usual way as was done "back in the day'

A
Louis I have hooked my turntable to my Denon AVR and have experienced no hum. The only ground I have is through the AC cord.
paul  Mar 29, 2017
A
Hey Louis, I just jammed the wires into the receiver's phono input without doing anything fancy and had no hum.
