About the Sanus CFR2115

Ralph Graves
Problem: you want to keep your audio/video system in a closet or cabinet, but you don't want to have to pull everything apart when it's time to add a new component or change a cable. Solution: the brawny Sanus CFR2115. It can store all your gear, and it has enough space within the cabinet to run your cables.

Problem: you want to keep your audio/video system in a closet or cabinet, but you don't want to have to pull everything apart when it's time to add a new component or change a cable. Solution: the brawny Sanus CFR2115. It can store all your gear, and it has enough space within the cabinet to run your cables.

Sturdy casters make it easy to move, and each shelf is backstopped so your components sit securely during repositioning. Quick-release removable side and back panels give you access to your components.

Rack-mount or shelve your gear

The CFR2115 can accommodate up to fifteen 1-3/4"-tall rack-mounted components. Or you can use the included shelving to store up to eight larger components. You also get rack blanking panels, so you can fill in empty gaps between rack-mounted of shelved components for a cleaner look.

Easy cable connections

Space behind the shelves lets you run connecting cables between your components. And a three-rack panel that can be attached to either the top or the bottom of the rack's rear gives you options for running cables out of the cabinet.

Industrial-strength construction

The beefy CFR2115 can support up to 500 lbs. of electronic gear. Welded heavy-gauge steel construction makes it durable and strong, and a locking tempered glass door gives you added security. Drop-down legs provide stable support, and they're adjustable, so you can ensure your gear stays level.

Ventilation to keep components cool

Integrated vents along the edges and air holes in the back panel keep air circulating. The cabinet also features vented shelves on both the top and bottom of the rack for improved airflow. In addition, every shelf also has ventilation slots to help keep the temperature down.

  • Shelves:
    • Two 1U: 17.4 (w) x 1.75" (h) x 18.2" (d), 30 lbs weight capacity
    • Two 2U: 17.4" (w) x 3.5" (h) x 18.2" (d), 50 lbs weight capacity

Convection Cooling System: Cooling vents on the top and bottom of the rack ensure all equipment stays at the ideal temperature. The Sanus CFR2115 employs a convection cooling system that allows warm air to escape through the top as cooler air is drawn in through the bottom of the rack, keeping your AV gear at the proper temperature. The rack also has two 3U cut-out openings on both top and bottom of the rack as well as a removable 3U panel that can be located above or below the rear rack door for added venting or active cooling flexibility.

Customer Q&A

Q
Can a turntable sit on the top of this cabinet?

A
Plenty of room on the top for a turntable, although there are air vents on the top for heat dissipation, so if you have a lot of heat generating equipment (mostly very high power amps and receivers, particularly tube amps) you will want to take some care to make sure your equipment is adequately vented. There are vents on the back, both sides and the floor of the cabinet also, so I would not anticipate a heat build up problem unless those are also restricted (I have my cabinet under a countertop, which somewhat limits heat dissipation through the top, and I have not experienced any problems). You might also want to consider the effect the heat exiting the top of the cabinet might have on your turntable (I would not block the top heat vents completely, and since heat rises there will undoubtedly be some heat rising to the underside of your turntable). Most equipment does not generate that much heat these days, so unless you are running a very high powered digital amplifier or receiver or a tube amplifier you should be fine.

Yes . I think so . I have a 34 inch monitor setting on mine !

Q
What is the usable depth inside? I have a Yamaha A2080 that needs ~21in considering the cables at the back.

Those are great receivers, but they are very deep. The measurement from the interior back panel of the cabinet to the front edge of the shelves/racks is about 21-1/2". With the face plate and front knobs of the receiver hanging out over the feet and front of a shelf by another 1/2" the front panel would still close and you could probably squeeze another 1/2" out, so that the maximum depth would be right around 22". Don't know your installation plans, but you could also leave either the upper or lower the rear panel off to accommodate cables.
thomas  Jun 15, 2020
A
22' from back wall to the front of the shelf with maybe another 1/4" to the glass when the door is shut

Q
Do the side panels lock independently of the front? Would like to be able to leave the front open but secure the sides and rear to prevent cable tampering.

The front and rear lock only, but I see a hole with plug on sides with slot on side for a lock assembly. An option perhaps or special order.
donald  Dec 21, 2017
A
Yes they do, I leave back panel off for easy access and lock caster wheels, I don't have kids or animals to get into the back and tamper with the cabling., thing is built like a tank,Enter

A
No, although there is a vent that can be opened or closed and a vent with a grill. Both side panels can be removed, as well as, the back. It is one of the easiest cabinets to access for working on components and wiring. I highly recommend this cabinet. It is industrial looking but it is a great, functional rack.
greg  Mar 14, 2017
A
No, although there are cable opening.

No, it does not open. There is a sliding portion that allows cables to come up through the top however. All three sides come off and the door can hinge from either side.

There is a slot on the top rear that is covered but can slide open. There are also aeration holes that can accommodate optional cooling fans.
