Advanced technology for stunning sound
The C 275BEE employs many of the same high-end features found on NAD's top-of-the-line Master Series components, including NAD's exclusive PowerDrive™ technology. This unique circuit automatically senses your speaker's impedance, then optimizes the amp's power supply settings to deliver the most dynamic power possible. This allows it to easily drive low-impedance loads, including many of today's high-end speakers, which often run closer to four ohms than eight. Plus, a patented distortion-canceling circuit in the amp's output stage ensures your music stays clean and pure.

A strong, vibration-resistant build
Along with all of its advanced technology, NAD gave the C 275BEE a big helping of good old-fashioned construction quality. This amplifier boasts a heavy-gauge steel chassis for added durability and vibration resistance. Soft Clipping: NAD's Soft Clipping circuit gently limits the output of the C 275BEE to minimize audible distortion when the amplifier is over-driven. While Soft Clipping can be left on at all times to reduce the likelihood of audible distortion from excessive volume settings, you can also turn the circuit off for critical listening if you prefer.

Bridgeable: The C 275BEE can be bridged to a single channel, more than doubling the power output. When bridged, the minimum recommended speaker impedance is 8Ω.

A/B Speaker Terminals: The amplifier features A & B speaker terminals to power two pair of loudspeakers. The amplifier supports 4Ω speakers when only one pair is connected, however, when two pair of speakers are connected a minimum impedance of 8Ω is recommended.

Input Select: A switch on the rear panel allows you to set the input to Fixed or Variable. In the fixed position the input signal is routed directly to the amplifier; typically used in single amp systems, or when multiples of the same amp are used. The variable position allows you to adjust the input level before amplification, useful when matching output levels in a multi-amp system, bi-amping speakers, or extending the volume control range of the preamp.

Auto Turn-on: The C 275BEE can be turned on automatically one of two ways; +12 volt trigger from another component or by sensing an input signal.


Rear Panel:

  • Input Select: choose Fixed or Variable (variable allows volume adjustment using the Input Level dial)
  • Input Level: rotary dial; adjusts volume to match another amplifier
  • Bridge Mode: switch between stereo and mono amplifier output
  • Soft Clipping: turn the Soft Clipping circuit on/off
  • Power: master power switch
  • +12V/Input Sensing: choose +12 volt trigger or signal sensing to automatically turn the amp on


Rear Panel:

  • Speakers: the speaker binding posts will accept single banana plugs, pin connectors, spade lugs up to 0.625" wide, and bare wire up to 10 gauge; there are four speaker outputs, A (left and right) and B (left and right); when powering two pair of speakers a minimum impedance of 8Ω is recommended
  • Signal Input: stereo RCA input jacks
  • 12 Volt Trigger: turn the amp on/off along with another device that has a +12 volt trigger output
  • AC Input: 2-pole IEC power input for use with included cord (or optional upgraded cord)

You cannot select between the A and B speakers, if both sets of terminals are being used. Both sets of outputs will be driven simultaneously, where the A speakers are normally the main pair of speakers and the B speakers are for another set of speakers, say in a different room. It just warms warm. Certainly not what I'd consider "hot" by any means. Not as hot as my Mark Levinson ML-9--the heat sinks can get so hot they hurt to touch. Not so with the NAD. Mine is enclosed on 3 sides with about 2.5" on either side, 2" in back. The shelf above it is about 8-10" above. [ David  Feb 07, 2018 ]

Yes, you can. Here's an excerpt from the user's manual: Bi-Amping Some loudspeakers have separate connection terminals for their LF (Low Frequency) and HF (High Frequency) sections. Where a separate power amplifier is used for the LF and HF section, this facility allows to "Bi-Amp" such speakers which may improve overall sound quality. When Bi-Amping with different models of power amplifiers, it is likely to occur that one power amplifier has more "gain" than the other, resulting in a mismatch in level for the woofer and tweeter of the speaker. Adjust the level control so that woofer and tweeter are in perfect balance with each other (identical gain of power amplifiers). [ ADRIAN  Feb 03, 2018 ]

Yes, with the proper bi-wire cable, or cables, this amp can be used to bi-wire a speaker with separate low and high frequency binding posts; be sure to remove the bridge between the posts beforehand. With that said, there is little evidence that bi-wiring improves sound quality. Bi-amping, on-the-other-hand, should produce a notable improvement in sound quality and the C 275BEE can be used to bi-amp if used with another C275BEE and stereo pre-amplifier such as the NAD C 165BEE, or a single NAD C 375BEE. The C275BEE is a versatile amplifier that can be bridged for speakers of 8 ohms, or effectively drive speakers of either 4 ohm, 6 ohm or 8 ohm impedance. [ GREG  Feb 02, 2018 ]
Hi James, Not sure if your receiver will work with a powered sub. I have the amp you are considering paired with a NAD C 165BEE preamp. This preamp has the connection for a powered sub. I have a Definitive Technology Super Cube 2000 which is a great unit. [ Chris  Oct 30, 2017 ]
I am not familiar with the NAD 705, but from what I could find on it, it appears to be a stereo receiver. I have a question for you, does the NAD 705 have a sub-woofer output channel? If it does, and you should be able to use its output to drive the sub-woofer. Does the NAD 705 have pre-amp outputs that can be used to drive the NAD C275BEE? Sounds like you're describing a bi-amped connection. You'll need to use a preamp out from the receiver as a line level input to the 275BEE. You can achieve a bi-amped configuration with these components, BUT because they have different amplifiers and very likely with a different gain, you may end up with one section of the speaker increasing volume faster than the other. I think the only foolproof way to bi-amp is to use identical amps on both sets of posts. [ JEFF P  Aug 10, 2016 ]
