Quality and affordability

Great bass usually depends on your wallet, as a nice sub and powerful amp can cost serious cash. Now JBL steps up with some help for the bass-hungry, designing their affordable Stage subs to help you get strong bass when your bank account's a little weak.

Great power handling

The Stage 810 features a polypropylene cone for enhanced stiffness, supported by a nitrile rubber surround that'll stand up the abuses of life in your ride. It'll handle up to 200 watts RMS (800 watts peak), and it works equally well in sealed or ported enclosures, so you can get the kind of bass you want.

Reliability

The big 1.5" voice coil contributes to this sub's impressive power handling, while airflow from the cone's movement cools the voice coil for exceptional reliability. And, speaking of reliable, JBL puts these subs through a rigid testing process that includes baking, freezing, and blasting them with power for days on end, all so that you never have to worry.

Enclosure Recommendations
  • Sealed Box Volume: 0.35 ft³
  • Ported Box Volume: 0.42 ft³ with one 1.97" diameter x 6.7" long port
  • Band Pass: JBL also recommends prefabricated band-pass enclosures. Band-pass enclosures often provide the most output available from any amplifier and subwoofer combination, but at the expense of sonic accuracy.

Q
Your vehicle info says this sub will fit in back enclosure of my 2000 Tahoe. I still have the factory head unit. Do you think it will have enough power for this sub? The factory sub is blown. Thanks.

My vehicle has a built in amp in the enclosure as well as the speaker. Not knowing what your stock setup is like it's hard for me to advise with absolute certainty. In my case both the amp and speaker were blown and was completely non-functioning. I elected to replace the amp with a 500 watt unit as well as the speaker. It sounds freaking awesome. Vehicles made back then (mine is a 1998) just don't have anything close to what is available now. My advice?? Setup an amp to power this sub if it doesn't have one. Crutchfield has easy to install wiring kits. Since you already have a built in enclosure for the speaker that's most of the work. You can install the amp anywhere.

It will have enough power just make sure the amp isn't too much for the speakers

Q
Can I wire this to the factory amplifier in an 02 Lexus Es300 without Mark Levinson? I simply want to replace the factory sub thasts blown. I have no other modifications to my system other than a Boss Sat Nav 50x4 head unit and a Metra/Axxess wiring harness/amplifier integration harness.

Yes it I should possible, but it would be a pain. You'll have to check to make sure the factory amp can supply enough power. Don't know what the stock amp supplies. This sub is rated at 200rms at 4 ohms, so anything higher than 200 watts should work fine. You'll have to cut the wires running to the factory sub and require them to the new sub. The wires are black and yellow if I'm not mistaken. But the factory sub in your Lexus is one piece with its mount. You'll have to cut the old sub out of the mount with a dremel or something and then mount the new sub in the old mount that way it will fit it the factory hole. Hope this helps.
