Massive sound and marine-rated durability
MB Quart's NH1-116 marine speakers are a welcome guest at any party. The compression horn design means massive sound, while the marine-rated design ensures that the festivities will continue for seasons to come. Designed for boating or powersports applications, these powerful full-range 6-1/2" speakers combine outstanding audio performance with outdoor-ready reliability.
Compression horn design
Compression horn designs dramatically improve speaker efficiency. And this is the fun kind of efficiency – it means it takes less amp power to produce more usable volume throughout the frequency spectrum. In other words, you can crank these speakers up and hear it all – highs, lows, and mids.
Quality components for impressive performance
The 1" titanium dome tweeters, polypropylene cones, and built-in compression horns give you smooth response and seriously impressive volume. The voice coil is made from high temperature copper and wound on a Kapton former, so it's light, powerful, and durable.
These speakers are vented front and rear, so air passes through the spider and the back plate to exchange air over the voice coil. As a result, they stay cool when they're being pushed hard. There's also a built-in crossover, so you'll hear a smooth transition between high and low frequencies – not irritating distortion.
The UV-resistant cones are attached to the frame with durable butyl rubber surrounds and stabilized with woven fiber composite spiders that resist weather-and temperature related degradation.
Built tough to rock hard
These MB Quart speakers will perform in extreme conditions, with water-resistant components and super-strong composite baskets, magnet covers and grilles. The exterior surfaces are coated with special UV-resistant paint that stands up to broiling sunlight. Inside, the crossover network is conformal-coated to protect against fresh and salt water spray, not to mention dust and sand. In fact, your MB Quart speakers are IPX67-rated, which means they meet the highest standards of weather resistance.

Features
Coincident Mounted Compression Horn: In addition to increasing efficiency, the coincidentally mounted woofer and tweeter create a single point source with a unified magnetic structure, allowing all musical energy across the frequency band to come from a single focal point within the transducer. This improves the directionality of the speaker system.
Wavelength Transparent Acoustic Lens: The size and spacing of the perforations in the waveguide (part of the grille) are engineered to allow midrange frequencies to pass through, while remaining firm to guide the high frequency waves from the compression driver, to improve SPL and the sound stage. This technology also eliminates shadowing, which can occur with high SPL standard cones.
Grilles: Each grille is held in place by two screws, and while they can be removed, the acoustic lens is removed at the same time, altering the sound output. Thus the grilles should not be removed.
