Hi Eileen, Search BDI Corridor 8173 and look at Images. A center cabinet photo is on mfg site, and one of a side cabinet is at another spot. I weighed this purchase a very long time because I did not want to pay this much for a tv stand but after 9 months searching the cabinet plus searching the best place to purchase, I got this from Crutchfield. Other sites claimed special sales, delivery etc but all are charging same, just breaking out the freight. I am so happy with this piece. I have a tall reciever (Onkyo) that fit the side with no shelves placed. The center holds bluray and cable box, plus video game stuff and a lot of empty space on both shelves. The other side I put a speaker with a special stand to absorb vibrations. Cord handling was thoughtfully placed in logical spots except for one, and that was because of the size (width) of my receiver. The delivery guys assembled and placed this piece perfectly. So grateful I decided to go with Crutchfield, and very happy with this quality piece. This wont let me upload a photo maybe because I am on mobile. I will try again but searching images might help. No issues with sound quality and I've tried with both. Also, remote are responsive as well. I have the 8179 and I purchased the smaller feet to lower the unit. It's a clean look and built very well. I did have the 2 center doors cracked/broken, but the folks at Crutchfield / BDI took care of it by sending me another pair of doors. [ Richard  Feb 07, 2018 ]
I had to modestly increase the volume to that channel using my receiver to compensate for the door. (Running through your receiver's auto-setup, like Audessy, would likely have the same result). But I noticed no degradation in sound-quality with the door closed. [ Jonathan  Feb 05, 2018 ]
I have not been too scientific about it, but I think there's no difference. I've never had anyone comment on center channel audio quality either. [ Matthew  Feb 05, 2018 ]
Sounds fine to me, no distortion that I can tell. Had this for about a year and loaded with receiver, game system, subwoofer, some various other things and the weight hasn't been a problem. Rolls on wheels relatively easy even on carpet. Expensive but should be able to get 1-2 decades of use. [ Yan  Feb 05, 2018 ]
I have had the soundbar locates both within the cabinet and also placed on top of the cabinet. I did not notice an appreciable difference in the sound quality either way. It seems to be mostly a matter of asthetics. [ KELANI  Feb 05, 2018 ]
