Our take on the Polk Audio DB 652 by Crutchfield's Alexander Hrabe
The DB+ tweeters are designed for optimal dispersion of the high frequencies.
If you're building your new system on a budget, Polk Audio's DB+ Series speakers are a dynamite value as well as being stellar performers. Their journey to excellence begins with a laser-imaged design that ensures minimal distortion, a smooth response, and incredible sonic detail.
Honed Polk perfection
These DB652 2-way speakers feature a 6-1/2" polypropylene woofer cone with a strong rubber surround for solid playback and resilience under the environmental stress that comes with living in your car doors. A 3/4" silk dome tweeter delivers smooth highs with precision to give you a vibrant soundstage, while a built-in crossover keeps the highs and lows flowing to the proper drivers.
Handles up to 100 watts RMS
With power handling up to 100 watts RMS, you'll do fine driving this system with an aftermarket receiver, but these speakers will reach peak performance if you power them with a nice amp.

Polk includes mounting hardware, along with boldly designed grilles that add flare to your vehicle's interior if you're doing a custom installation.

Polk Audio DB 652 Reviews

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.
Mounting: The speaker baskets have multiple mounting holes and are designed to fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2, Ford's 4-hole 6-1/2, and 6-3/4 applications. (A speaker baffle should be used to seal the inner ring of screw holes in 6-3/4 installations.) The included adapter brackets can be used to fit many specialized factory speaker applications. The brackets are also useful as a spacer in shallow locations; the brackets add 0.233" to the speakers' mounting height and subtract 0.232" from the mounting depth. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.
Marine Certification: Polk speakers are marine certified, making them a good choice for boats in fresh water, convertibles, motorcycles, ATVs, and other applications where the speaker might get wet. Because they have coated steel baskets and the terminals and crossover components are not covered, we do not recommend using them in salt water environments.

You can check on the Crutchfield webpage but they do fit my 1999 Rav4. [ Bryan Jun 28, 2018 ]
The bass is about that of an Infinity. Your mid and high frequencies come out extremely clear, while still maintaining a good deep bass sound. The clarity is more of what I am impressed with with these speakers while maintaining a decent bass sound that is not overly overwhelming to the point where I have to sound proof my vehicle due the door panel vibrations. [ TIMOTHY W Apr 19, 2018 ]
Have no idea used inside car [ Andy Apr 16, 2018 ]
These speakers definitely do have a crossover built in to distribute the audio to the 2 drivers. However, we do not know the frequency being used. I recommend contacting Polk support to see if they have that information. I have 800-377-7655 for their phone number. 1 answer I have a 2008 Honda Accord with separate, factory tweeters on the upper part and woofers on the lower part of each front door. Is it possible to use these Polk Audio speakers and still retain the use of the tweeter, or will I have a problem with the crossover? Currently, it is actually just the rear speakers that sounds muddy and needs replacing. The front speakers sounds ok, but I would also change out all the speakers at the same time. Would I actually need to go with component speakers for the front? [ Alexander Nov 22, 2017 ]
You do not have to use component speakers. The factory speakers in the lower door and rear deck still get a full-range signal so, you can install the Polk DB652 in both locations if need be. You should speak with a Crutchfield customer service rep. [ Bryan Jul 17, 2017 ]
100W RMS each [ JEREMY Jun 22, 2017 ]
These speakers actually use less depth than the db651s model. Also, these speakers need almost exactly the same mounting height so they should fit in place of the db651s speakers. HTH! My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101 [ Paul Apr 15, 2017 ] Staff
Depends on the quality of sound that you already have replacing speakers will upgrade your sound a little, the head unit is where the difference is really heard, also you should get a good sub for true bass, these speakers will not bring out the true deep bass tones [ Andre Apr 04, 2017 ]
Check with Crutchfield about the 2ohm unit. [ Bryan Jun 28, 2018 ]
Should be close to stock volume I would think. When I looked into everything for my car it seemed like most stock head units were around 40-50W. If you're just changing head units you should end up with similar volume output. [ Nathan Feb 17, 2017 ]
It means they filter either Low, mids, highs frequencies just by connecting them between the speakers and the sound source (stereo). The ones on this speakers are welded or soldered in the speaker. Right past the connection you just have to plug in the wires the speaker comes with. Also maybe you should give out more details when asking a question. Are you buying extra passive filters? . Does the speaker have passive filters?. DETAILS BABY, DETAILS!! [ Saul Oct 01, 2016 ]
They are soldered past the connection. [ Saul Sep 30, 2016 ]
screw on. The speakers come with a plastic type of padapting plate that is 9 by 6 if your OEM speakers are 9 by 6. So that you can adapt the 6 inch speakers to it. These speakers have good mid bass by the way. [ Saul Aug 05, 2016 ]
They will screw on [ JEREMY Aug 05, 2016 ]
The covers are held on with the same screws that hold the speakers in place. [ Brad Aug 05, 2016 ]
I, they are screw on. Hope that helps [ dave Aug 05, 2016 ]
100watts and 300 watts peak [ Saul Jun 21, 2016 ]
They are rated to handle up to 100 watts RMS. You will find this information, and more, under the "Product Highlights" section when you scroll down the main webpage for these speakers. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan Jun 20, 2016 ] Staff
