Features

1" Horn-Loaded Tweeter: The R-34C center channel loudspeaker features Klipsch's proprietary Tractrix Horn technology mated with a 1" aluminum LTS tweeter, for impressive high-end response and greater extension, enhanced imaging and powerful dynamics.

  • 90°x90° Tractrix Horn: The square Tractrix Horn delivers a 90° (w) x 90° (h) dispersion pattern for a broader sound-stage. Klipsch exclusive Tractrix horn technology ensures that the speaker's high frequency energy is aimed at the listener and reduces artificial reverb or filtering caused by indirect sound bouncing off of walls. Using this proprietary focused technology provides clarity, dynamics, and detail for your movies and music
  • LTS (Linear Travel Suspension): Behind each horn lies a 1.0" tweeter with a linear travel suspension. Klipsch exclusive Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performances. In addition, Using Kapton (an extremely light and rigid material) in the tweeter suspension provides high efficiency and improve resolution and detail.

Quad 3.5" Copper-Spun IMG Woofers: The Klipsch R-34C center channel speaker houses four 3.5" Copper-Spun IMG woofers. The Copper-Spun IMG (Injection Molded Graphite) woofers are exceptionally light while being extremely rigid - providing remarkable low frequency response, with minimal cone breakup and distortion.

Dual Tractrix Ports: The dual front-firing Tractrix ports are perfectly matched to the cabinet and woofers, creating ideal airflow with minimal distortion or turbulence even at the lowest frequencies. The front-firing ports allow the R-34C center speaker to be placed right against your wall or entertainment system without effecting the bass response.

MDF Cabinet: The Klipsch R-34C center channel speaker features a MDF cabinet with a scratch-resistant, textured wood grain vinyl that seamlessly integrates into almost any room or decor. The enclosure's reinforced MDF construction reduces cabinet vibration for less audible coloration and improved sonic accuracy.

Acoustically Transparent Grille: The Klipsch R-34C center channel speaker comes with a removable, black cloth grille that is magnetic and acoustically transparent.

Binding Posts: The Klipsch Reference series center channel speaker is fitted with sturdy binding posts to ensure a secure connection to many types of cable and connectors. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-lugs and bare wire (up to 10AWG). Two plastic caps will need to be removed to use banana plugs.

Mounting & Placement Options: The Klipsch R-34C can be placed on a speaker stand, TV stand, or shelf. It can also be wall-mounted. The center channel speaker should be placed as close to the screen as possible, preferably directly on top of or below the screen.

  • Rubber Feet: The center loudspeaker comes with self-adhesive rubber feet to secure the speaker in place and prevent any damage to your stand's or shelf's surface. The rubber feet add approximately 0.3125" to the overall height of the speaker.
  • Keyhole Slot: The Klipsch Reference series center channel speaker feature dual keyhole slots on the back of the cabinet for wall-mounting the speaker without any additional wall-mount bracket (mounting screws not supplied).

Reference Series: The Klipsch Reference series consists of four floorstanding speakers (R-610F/R-620F/R-820F/R-625FA), two bookshelf speakers (R-41/R-51M), two center channel speakers (R-34C/R-52C), and one Dolby Atmos speaker (R-41SA) - all sold separately. The Klipsch Reference series line-up of loudspeakers sound great in stereo and home theater applications.

Optional Powered Sub: For bigger & deeper bass response, pair the Klipsch Reference series loudspeaker with one of Klipsch's powered subwoofers (sold separately).

Q
R 34C vs R 30C which is better for home theater "Dialogue"?
john  Mar 03, 2024
1 answer
A
Dialog clarity performance is good on either speaker, John. Dimensions, driver array, and specs are similar on both models, but the Klipsch R30 C is a more recently released speaker with some performance improvements. The cabinet internal structure, port design, and tweeter horn have all been improved on the R-30C. While both will perform well, overall sound quality is a slightly higher on the Klipsch Reference R-30C.

Q
Can I pair this center channel speaker with Polk Audio RC85i front and Polk Audio RC80i rear speakers. I have a Denon - AVR-S540BT receiver. Will this combination have any issues..??
lokendra  Jan 19, 2024
1 answer
A
For a proper voice-matched system using a Polk center channel speaker is the best move, Lokendra. The Klipsch Reference R-34C is an excellent quality speaker, but for a truly voice-matched home theater setup the Polk Audio Signature Elite ES35 in the link below is a better choice! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_107ES35BK/Polk-Audio-Signature-Elite-ES35-Black.html

Greetings Lokendra. Thank you for your question. That is something we normally would not recommend because the tone qualities of the different brand of speakers will not be a sonic match. That would be the only issue, but they all will still work.

Q
Would this work well with Yamaha RX-V385 5.1 Channel Network AV Receiver with Bluetooth? Also, does anyone know the dimensions?
bob  Feb 24, 2023
1 answer
A
This would work well with the RX-V385. The dimensions are 26-1/16"W x 4-15/16"H x 6-1/4"D (5-1/4"H with supplied rubber feet).

Q
Two questions in one. 1. Can I use and mix these with RP line as in RP-600M II serving as my left and front channels and 2. Can this be placed behind my TV? The TV has stands so there is a Gap. I don't want to mount my TV to the wall.
alexander  Jan 06, 2023
1 answer
A
It would be possible to mix this center channel with the RP-600M II. However, it would not be ideal to have it placed behind the TV unless the gap is large enough to not block the speakers. If this gap is not large enough, it may be better to forego the center channel and allow the set of RP-600M II to cover the entire front stage.

Q
Do I need an amplifier for a R-34-C?
david  Jul 26, 2022
1 answer
A
That's correct, David! This Klipsch R-34-C center channel speaker is a passive, so it does require separate power. Since Klipsch is well known for being extremely efficient, you can really use anything from 15 watts all the way up to 100! This would work best in a multi-channel Home Theater setup, with separate Home Theater receiver. If you are looking for something that is self powered, you can use a Klipsch soundbar like the Cinema 600 I've linked below. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_714CIN600/Klipsch-Cinema-600.html

Q
Hi there. I understand that "keeping it in the family" is the best way to go when pairing a center channel with front speakers. However, I'm interested in the Klipsch R34 center mainly because it would fit perfectly under our TV (anything much taller would cover up some of the TV's picture). We have the Klipsch R-12SWi Wireless Powered Subwoofer, a pair of Fluance tower speakers in the front, and a couple small Cambridge Audio surrounds, all driven by a Denon AVR-S750H receiver. My guess is the R34 would dramatically improve everything coming from the center (we have a pretty cheap center currently). Long story short, would the R34 be too much for our system? Thank you.

Johnny G, I got mine in 2020 had two older kenwood towers and two realistic surround speakers.. The klipsh cener made a trmenduos difference just make sure once you plug it in you go back in and rebalance your surround and towers may n\even be able to lower the dialog volume for center channel to make it blend the way you want it to. it is all in your adjustments onve speaker is installed
matthew  Mar 21, 2022
A
In my opinion the R34 would definitely not be to much. It is very clear and your Denon will be able to control the center output to your liking.

Q
Can these speakers used for left and right channels? Do they come with wall mounting brackets, and if not, is there a way to mount them on wall with adjustable angle?
hao  Feb 21, 2022
2 answers
A
It could be used but there are probably more appropriate lighter options. There are mounts to be able to mount horizontal or vertical and you could mount at obscure angles if needed. 13lbs each.
ryan  Feb 22, 2022
A
The specs provided on Crutchfield site pretty well answer your questions. You get left ,/ right speakers, but obviously not much separation. Still need additional speakers for full immersive sound. Yes on provided wall brackets. Not adjustable without additional specialized mounting hardware.

Q
Getting older and it's a little harder to hear the dialogue. Running a Klipsch RP 260 C center channel speaker from the Marantz 7008 with good NHT 8 ohm ceiling speakers 5:1. Wondering if I would hear noticeable improvement with dialogue upgrading to the Klipsch R34C? Space is a consideration... Suggestions?

I actually use two of these. One bellow tv and one above. Used another amp to power it. Not sure if your 7008 has this or not, but I turn the dialog enhancement to medium or high with my Denon and it solves my issues.
richard scott  Nov 27, 2021
A
I have nothing to compare it to but I have been very happy with this. Dialogue is really crisp and projects well. I have good ceiling speakers as well klipsch reference. Running my system on Sony str za-810es
scott  Nov 27, 2021
A
I'm no expert but my hearing is a bit reduced as well. The center channel Klipsch provides great, clear audio. Dialogue is sharp and clear.

Q
I have already purchased this center speaker not thinking to check and see if its shielded! Is It shielded and safe to be on top of the tv?
jeff  Jun 02, 2021
1 answer
A
Magnetic shielding was required for cathode ray tube (CRT) TVs and computer monitors. My Klipsch center speaker is directly below and behind my 50 inch LED TV with no issues.

Q
I have a 1909 Dennon Receiver. What Center Speaker would you recommend? Joe
joe  Feb 05, 2021
1 answer
A
That's a great receiver and will work with many different center channel speakers. Your Denon has plenty of power and stable down to 6 ohms to work with a variety of speakers. For us to make a good recommendation on a new center channel speaker we would need to ask you a few questions about your existing set up to determine what will work best and match the rest of your speakers. Give us a call at 1-800-324-9695 and we'll be happy to make a customized recommendation for you!

I'd go for SVS ultra or Prime center.. I own that R34c it's about = to a sound bar inmop it's neat n tidy looks offer little in REAL performance etc I moved up to the SVS Utra center & couldn't be more pleased..

How does this compare height wise to either the JBL Stage A135C or the Polk Signature S35?

Thanks for your question. For information on comparing two or more models I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences and help you make the best choice for your system and your budget.

I have the 34C and the sound is crystal clear I'm more than happy I bought it.
dennis  Jun 02, 2020
A
I've heard both. And to be honest it was difficult to tell the difference as far as sound quality. I like the 34c because is slimmer. Longer from side to side, but definitely shorter as far as height. Even though they use smaller woofers. I was surprised as how good they sounded. The bass was good. Definitely a really good center channel speaker. I set up my Marantz A/V preamp LFE setting to LFE+Main so any low ends sounds that is sent to any of the others speakers is played also on the subwoofers. That way all the surround speakers and surround back speakers. Don't have to go too low on the bass frequency. With minor tweeking of the crossovers settings and level settings. It sounds awesome. Hope this helps.

What are all the supported audio encoding formats this soundbar supports?

The R-34C is not a sound bar , it's a Home Theater Center Channel Speaker .
dale  Dec 28, 2019
A
I purchased the speaker and it is my Center Channel speaker as part of my home theater setup. It connects to the center Channel output my receiver. The actual audio signal goes from the receiver to the speaker. Which is to say that it is the receiver that would support audio formats.
ron  Dec 28, 2019
A
It will support any that your receiver puts out. It is simply connected to your receiver by speaker wire. It is my center channel on a 7.1 setup with a Denon AVR-X 1500H AV receiver. It performs flawlessly.
