Power Filtering & Surge Protection Wall Outlet: The Chief EGX-SF2 is a high-performance, dual gang housing, isolated ground, dual receptacle outlet featuring the SurgeX non-sacrificial multi-stage filtration and surge protection system. The EGX-SF2 improves the reliability and functionality of connected equipment by safeguarding them from high energy transients, lightning strikes, and electronic noise events that can cause damage to your gear.

Note: The Chief EGX-SF2 was co-developed with SurgeX, a brand of AMETEK Electronic Systems Protection.

Non-Volatile/Non-Sacrificial Spike Protection: The Chief EGX-SF2 power filtering & surge protection wall outlet can withstand 240 volts of AC continuous power without damage or loss of protection. The Chief EGX-SF2 does not incorporate sacrificial components of any kind, effectively guaranteeing an unlimited service life without the requirement for testing and/or periodic maintenance. Its non-current limiting design passes full power on a regular circuit; redundant protection circuits.

EMI  Filtering: The Chief EGX-SF2 utilizes a ferrite toroid based EMI filter to help eliminate line noise by up to 40 dB. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a general type of electric, radio or magnetic interference which is transmitted by conduction or radiation and can be of a very wide frequency range.

Wiring: The Chief EGX-SF2 power filtering & surge protection wall outlet must be connected to a 15 Amp branch circuit. The EGX-SF2 contains four 14AWG wires - White (Neutral), Black (Line), Green (Box Ground), & Green/Yellow (Isolated Ground).

Note: Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

Mounting Options: The EGX-SF2 is intended for use in installations where an existing drywall finished wall or ceiling is present. It may only be installed in 1/2" or 5/8" thick standard drywall using the old work clips supplied. It will require a drywall cutout of 4.5" (w) x 4" (h). It may also be installed at a new work site directly to wood or steel studs using the included new work clips. For indoor use only.
