Overview

Our take on the CableTruth 303T

Whether you're feeding stereo music to a DAC or Dolby® Digital surround sound to your receiver, the optical cable is a crucial link in the signal chain and shouldn't be overlooked. Cheaply made optical cables can have imperfections in the fiber that cause light to "scatter," compromising signal integrity. The CableTruth 303T optical cable uses a special low-dispersion polymer fiber to minimize signal corruption and timing errors. It provides a distortion-free connection between digital audio source components — CD players, Blu-ray or DVD players — and A/V receivers, DACs, and even some sound bars. The cable has full-size Toslink connectors at each end.

Don't cheap out on this crucial link

Why fiber instead of copper?

Optical cables carry signals as pulses of light rather than a stream of electrons, so they are virtually impervious to magnetic or electrical interference. Unlike cables made of wire which require some type of metal connector to transfer the signal between components, in an optical cable, the very tip of the connector is the fiber itself, and it requires special polishing to reduce light refractions.

Product Highlights:

  • low-dispersion fiber minimizes digital timing errors
  • finely-polished polymer fiber conductor
  • full-size Toslink connectors
  • warranty: 5 years
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

What's in the Box:

  • 6' Optical digital cable (with Toslink connectors on each end)

Nice quality cable witb gold tips. Thinnr then what im used to. But that where's the quality comes in with inner wires being tightly wound. Great sound quality. I recommend the cable.

Features

Optical (Toslink) Digital Cable: The CableTruth Toslink optical cable uses a specifically specified low-dispersion polymer fiber. This minimizes signal corruption and timing errors that occur when a normal fiber's imperfections cause light to "scatter", forcing the light signal to take multiple paths within each fiber. Each path has a slightly different length, introducing dispersion-over-time, causing partial misinterpretation of the digital data stream and inferior sound.

  • Low-Dispersion Fiber Minimizes Digital-Timing Errors
  • Polished Optical Interface Minimizes Light Dispersion
  • Inner-Armor Layer Protects Optical Fiber
Note: Remove the plastic protectors on the optical cable and on equipment. Insert the connectors; they are "keyed" and will only fit one way.

1 question already asked

yupper dupper. the digital signal carries all the info you need. just make sure your amp or receiver has the matching input. [ Joshua  Jul 29, 2017 ]
You would use your TV's optical output to connect to a powered sound bar. However, to connect to a full audio system, you connect your TV to your receiver (or amplifier) with an HDMI cable. You actually hook up two HDMI cables--one between your cable or satellite box and the receiver and once between the receiver and the TV. That's all you need! Each HDMI cable can carry sound in both directions as needed by the components. Of course, you use speaker wire to carry the sound from your receiver to your speakers, (unless you have WIFI enabled speakers). Good luck. Hope this helps! [ Rodney  Jul 29, 2017 ]
Sorry, need an expert to answer this. Been too long! [ JACKIE  Jul 29, 2017 ]
Look for the optical audio out on your cable or satellite box. Run that directly to your sound system. If the box has no optical audio out, then use the one on the tv set. [ CLINTON W  Jul 29, 2017 ]
