Large subwoofer isolation platform
Our take on the Auralex SubDude-HT™ by Crutchfield's Dave Bar
The Auralex SubDude-HT isolation platform effectively decouples your subwoofer from the floor for cleaner, tighter bass.
Clean up your bass
Vibrating floors, walls, and ceilings add a lot of "mud" to the sound of your music and movie soundtracks. Placing an Auralex SubDude-HT under your subwoofer can clean up a boatload of those unwanted rattles, resonances, and sonic colorations by decoupling your sub from the floor.
This stylish sound-absorbing sandwich of velour-covered MDF and Auralex's proprietary sound isolation foam helps prevent sound coming from your sub from being transferred through the floor. You'll get cleaner, tighter bass, reduced coloration, and maybe even a thank you note from your downstairs neighbors!
The SubDude-HT's 18" x 22" platform dimension is sized perfectly for medium-to-large-sized subwoofers in home theaters, hi-fi systems, or recording studios.

Why did you buy this?
Wood floor and a split level house with bottom firing subwoofers isnt the best set up. The Auralex allows that sound energy to be directed into the listening environment rather than the basement. Immediate difference, i have 4 def tech prosub 1000's each with a platform. [ Adam Sep 28, 2018 ]
I seem to be getting a lot of unwanted overtones from my Klipsch Sub. Hopefully this will isolate. Also wanted to use my reward! [ Janine Sep 16, 2018 ]

No. It decouples the sub from the floor and absorbs a lot of vibrations that may travel through your hard wood floors. It does it's job for my HSU [ Ryan Aug 26, 2018 ]
My floor is tiles, but it does not move any where. It should not move at all [ David Aug 26, 2018 ]
I have a Klipsch 300 watt 12 inch sub. It holds my sub in place even when I rattle my wall art crooked. It is well worth the money. [ Terry Aug 25, 2018 ]
Don't know. But my 85 pound Hsu VTF-3 Mk5 has been pushed hard and hasn't moved yet. [ Todd Aug 25, 2018 ]
No it will not [ JAMES Aug 25, 2018 ]
I'm on a tile floor. It helped tremendously [ SERGE Aug 17, 2018 ]
I have a 2 sub system we use to watch movies. Both subs have their original feet with isolation pads. However, with the SubDude we notice markedly less vibration from the home's structure and better enjoy THX volume of movies. [ Richard Aug 17, 2018 ]
Honestly, it depends on how hard you drive your subwoofer. If you drive it hard or have it close to a wall, then yes. [ CLEVELAND Aug 16, 2018 ]
Absolutely! [ ThomasZ Aug 16, 2018 ]
Yes! They hold up well even with heavy subwoofers. They make the sound from the subs sound realistic and deep. You can't go wrong with the Subdude. [ GERARD Aug 16, 2018 ]
I've been using these for years and I think they work better than isolation pads or feet. I would buy it for your Supercube but this is the larger Subdude and you may be able to fit your sub on the regular one. I would measure and check that before ordering. [ Justin Aug 16, 2018 ]
3 answers We're placing two subwoofers in our basement TV/theater room. One will be on carpet (over the concrete floor), the other will be on vinyl plank (over the concrete floor). I'm already concerned that the subs will need to work harder for response below 25 Hz, but wondering if the Auralex Subdude-HT will help. Suggestions? Thanks! [ Todd Mar 12, 2018 ]
Just a little different [ JAMES Aug 25, 2018 ]
I am not sure sound wise...I purchased to protect my hardwood floors. With that said my JL Audio sub sounds amazing, but I couldn't tell you if there would be any difference with the sub sitting directly on the hardwood. Again, mine is just for floor protection. [ WILLIAM K Mar 12, 2018 ]
I think they are great! It reduces the vibration you would normally get on tile flooring or concrete. [ SERGE Mar 12, 2018 ]
We do not ship internationally; only to the U.S. and it's territories. https://www.crutchfield.com/Support/international.aspx For the U.S. version of the Velodyne SPL-1200II powered sub, the larger SubDude-HT would be required. [ Ryan Mar 08, 2018 ] Staff
The SubDude-HT measures 18.0625" (w) x 1.8125" (h) x 22.0625" (d). [ SERGE Dec 26, 2017 ]
Can't say it will for sure it depends on how the speaker stands on its base. [ DAVID Dec 24, 2017 ]
As long as it isn't too much larger than, 18" W x 22.25" D [ Ronald Dale Dec 24, 2017 ]
IT should work fine with speakers but has a large footprint specifically for subwoofers. I would recommend speaker isolation pads instead. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_927MOPADXL/Auralex-MoPAD-XL.html?tp=68326&omnews=13967619 [ Surjeet Oct 25, 2017 ]
Never thought to try that but my guess is that it would. You'll need to be careful as most floor standing speakers have spikes or feet that might be unstable on one of these. [ Dennis Oct 23, 2017 ]
That is an excellent question and my answer would be yes. I have a 2 story home with wooden floors on the upper level with two large sub woofers. I bought one of these to see how it worked before purchasing the 2nd one. They work great and eliminated all vibrations. I actually have one of my home speakers stacked on top of one of my sub woofers. I see no reason why it would not work the same for a home speaker placed directly on top. [ RANDY Oct 23, 2017 ]

Yes it will. The foot print of the pad will be large for most speakers. [ Richard Oct 23, 2017 ]
