Auxiliary input adapter with female RCA connectors
Our take on the Kenwood CA-C1AUX
This CA-C1AUX adapter converts the changer control plug on the back of most recent (1999 and later) Kenwood changer-controlling receivers into an auxiliary input. The 10" cable has the 13-pin male DIN connector at one end and female RCA plugs at the other (allowing you to connect an MP3 player, for example). Warranty: 30 days.
Note: When this adapter is used, you can't connect a CD changer to the Kenwood receiver. You can't connect this adapter to the pass-through changer port on a Kenwood SIRIUS tuner.
This makes adding a line in device (satellite, cell phone, etc.) easy. The sound is so much better than with the FM transmitter solution. For my specific install, the orientation of the plug was a little tricky, but that is more to do with the stereo install and not this unit.

Kenwood CA-C1AUX Reviews

Compatibility: This adapter should only be used with changer control head units that have the adapter listed as an accessory. The adapter is not compatible with pre-1999 head units. This cannot be used with the pass-through port on Kenwood Sirius tuners. If you have a Kenwood Sirius tuner and want AUX in capability, a Kenwood KCA-S220A will be required; the KCA-S220A is a two changer switch with a stereo RCA auxiliary input.
Plugs into Head Unit CD Changer Control Connector: When the CA-C1AUX adapter is used, you cannot connect a CD changer to the head unit (the CA-C1AUX plugs into the changer control DIN connection on the head unit).
Inputs and Cable Length: The female RCA inputs are at the end of a 10" cable; they are coded red (for right) and white (for left).
