Construction: The chassis is component-sized (17" wide) and made from durable black metal with padded feet.
Speaker Switches: Each set of speaker outputs has an on/off switch so any combination of connected speakers can be played at any given time.
Protection Switch: The impedance protection switch on the front of the unit safeguards the receiver or amplifier even when all 6 pairs of speakers are playing.
Note: You will need to activate the "Protection" switch whenever the overall system impedance might fall below 4 ohms. It is recommended to verify that the receiver or amplifier is capable of driving a 4-ohm load.
Constant Protection: This speaker selector is equipped with a manual override for the protection circuit that enables you to defeat the front panel protection switch and maintain constant impedance protection. This will safeguard your amplifier from being overdriven due to accidental or improper use.
Removable Speaker Terminals: There are six removable speaker output terminal blocks and one removable speaker input terminal block. These connectors make it easier to wire the speakers to the selector. Each terminal block can accommodate up to 12 gauge wire.
Labels: Included are 72 pre printed and 6 blank label stickers for easy identification of the front panel controls.
- Frequency Response: 20Hz-20kHz +0dB, -0dB (flat)
- Power Handling: 250 watts per channel RMS at 8 ohms

Hi David T, I'm no expert concerning the niles speaker switches. Best I could suggest is follow the manufactures instruction exactly as printed. I'd pay specific attention to amount of power delivered from your amp, speaker wire size and length, speaker switch protection use in accord with manufactures instructions. Hope that helps [ Paul May 24, 2018 ]
1 answer Anyone know how to hook up a remote control for this speaker switcher? I have one in the basement and the previous owner left an IR remote controller to it, but no remote control! The IR controller has no brand or manufacturer or model number, so I assume I need to buy a new IR controller along with the remote. [ Steve May 27, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: That unit is manual control only. You won't be able to use a remote with that speaker selector. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy May 29, 2014 ] Staff
