Overview: The Honeywell RTH2510B 7-day Programmable Thermostat allows you to customize the heating/cooling schedule for each day of the week. This allows you to set the temperature to an energy-saving level while you are away from home or sleeping. The thermostat features an easy-to-read backlit display that shows the ambient temperature at all times. Simple push buttons let you set or override the schedules at any time. The RTH2510B works with a wide variety of heating and cooling systems.
Compatible Systems: The thermostat is compatible with the following types of heating and cooling systems:
- Gas, oil, or electric furnace
- Central air conditioning
- Hot water system with or without pump
- Millivolt system
- Central heating and cooling system
- Heat pump without auxiliary/backup heat
- Heat pump with auxiliary/backup heat
Controls: The RTH2510B features push-button and switch controls. Two switches along the bottom let you select Heat/Cool/Off, and Fan On/Off. Up and down push buttons let you set the desired temperature. The Set button allows you to set the schedule (day, time, etc.). The Hold button, when pressed, will override the programmed temperature control. To resume the programmed schedule, press the Run button.
Scheduling: The thermostat features a 7-day programmable schedule, allowing you to set the temperature for up to four time periods a day: Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep. Each day can be programmed independently.
Schedule Overriding: If you need to ignore the schedule at any time, you can override the schedule, either temporarily or permanently. Pressing the Up or Down button (to adjust the temperature) will temporarily override the schedule until the next scheduled period begins. Pressing the Up or Down button to the desired temperature, and then pressing the Hold button, will permanently override the schedule. To resume the programmed schedule and cancel the override requires pressing the Run button.
Early Start: The Early Start feature ensures the set temperature is reached at the beginning of the programmed time. For example, if you have the Wake temperature set at 70° at 6:00am, the thermostat will turn the heat or AC on early so that the set temperature in the room is reached by 6:00am.
Compressor Protection: Damage can occur if the compressor is restarted too soon after shutdown. The built-in Compressor Protection forces the compressor to wait 5 minutes before restarting. The display will flash "Heat On" or "Cool On" while the Compressor Protection is activated.
Power Requirements: The RTH2510B is powered by two "AAA" alkaline batteries (not included). A low battery indicator will appear in the display approximately 60 days before batteries are fully depleted. Most settings are stored in non-volatile memory. Only the clock and day must be set when batteries are replaced.
