Our take on the Panamax PM8-AV

The Panamax PM8-AV shields your home theater system against harmful spikes and power fluctuations. It also filters out the RF (radio frequency) and electromagnetic interference that can degrade your system's performance.

The Panamax PM8-AV shields your home theater system against harmful spikes and power fluctuations. It also filters out the RF (radio frequency) and electromagnetic interference that can degrade your system's performance.

The power protector comes with eight AC outlets, conveniently spaced to allow for bulky transformers. Two sets of coaxial input/output jacks protect your cable, antenna, or digital satellite TV connections. There's also a protected telephone line input/output.

The PM8-AV reacts in less than a nanosecond during a spike, breaking the connection to protect your equipment. The 6-ft. power cord has a right-angle plug that hugs the wall, for an easy fit behind your audio/video cabinet.

  • 41" Coax (RG-59) cable
  • 3 Mounting screws
  • 3 Drywall anchors
  • 3 Spacer eyelets

I haven't had any surges, but take comfort with having a premium surge/power conditioner for my equipment. The location of the power switch and outlets are very helpful. Nicely designed. The 6' cord is helpful too.

1 question already asked

Ive never heard this. My primary concern is momentary lapses of power and surges. Ive used surge protectors for many years, on a couple of occaisions Ive had a surge protector blown out, but even then it protected my equipment. [ ANDREW J  Dec 28, 2013 ]
I have always used just one. I have had no problems at all. [ MARC  Dec 28, 2013 ]
If you go with a lesser quality power center then maybe you would need two. I use this for a 50" Panasonic plasma, a Yamaha receiver, Marantz CD/DVD, and an Infiniti sub. Nothing but clean, clear power from this unit! Highly recommended. [ ANTHONY J  Dec 27, 2013 ]
