The radio comes with a bracket that is made for your specific car. In my car it just has space to put a couple CDs or whatever you want to throw in there.

The installation kit that Crutchfiled sells with the radio has a small shelf that takes up that space and give you a little storage area. I had worried about how it would look but it all turned out great. I now have a 05 Vette and am putting in an after market radio I got from Crutchfield.

Are you able to change the display color on the unit? It defaults to a cycle of all the colors and it is very distracting when driving at night. I checked the manual and did not see anything related to this in it.

Funny you asked! Put this in my son's car and he's never bothered to change the crazy lights - says they help him stay focused when he's driving (somehow). So don't know if the colors can be set or not. My wife has a similar unit in her car, and she was able to pick a color. Just went to Crutchfield FAQ and here's what they said: Go to settings then arrow over to illumination and you can select whatever color you want. Its under general settings. Hope this helps!

My bad you are asking HOW to. You have to press the big dial on the left and keep clicking it until you see color, than rotate until you find the color you want.
    vincent  May 06, 2019
    A
Yes you can change the display color. You can choose from red green blue cyan and purple. The blue light burnt out of on me after awhile which is a bummer so I switched to cyan.

I haven't found a need for a brighter display. Of the four colors available I find the blue works best for daytime display but not glaring at night. I'd suggest putting it on the multi color that switches the color at regular intervals for a while until you find one that works best for you

How to remove Boss 560BRGB radio?
    kara  Apr 14, 2019

Bottom left or right of head unit there is a button you can press to take just the head unit module out. To take the entire assembly you need the 2 keys that you jam into a small hole on the side of the radio and pull out. Check videos on how to take radio out.

Absolutely. I love this radio I use my IPhone to listen to audio books and my IPod to listen to music. My husband and I drive 160 miles every couple of weeks to see our grandson and spend the weekend with them. We are able to listen to music all the way there and back. I download the Stingray Music app (the music channel provided through our cable provider) and can play all their music. I love this product.

Yes You will need a dongle (wire/cable, etc) to patch between the Boss and your aux device. Crutchfield should be able to help you with this. There's a website that sells exclusive to dongles.
    william  Sep 29, 2018

Yes, if your stock radio didnt have an aux input, being that this radio does you can use the aux and it will work! Nothing to do with wiring just head unit!

Will this allow me to use the aux input if my original stereo didn't have one?
    alex  Sep 29, 2018
    1 answer
    A
In a word, Yes. There is an AUX on the front panel. If you are going to use the AUX input a lot, I would hook a cable to the rear inputs and snake a 1/8" phone plug out front. I wouldn't trust the AUX input on the front for very long, as it may wear out or get scratchy over time.

is that model save the changes that you made, like radio channels, clock, colors, etc... or every time when you started the car you need to make them again?
    lucky  May 21, 2018

All the changes that you enter into memory will stay in memory until such time that it is changed by you again. To ensure further that it does stay in memory, it is recommended that you always power the unit OFF before removing the face plate and or shutting off the ignition. This makes sure that the changes always remain locked.

I recently installed this in my MINI and notice two things: 1) This unit cannot be turned on when the car is off. 2) Inserts a short silence between tracks on CDs - annoying when listening to music where the tracks should blend as part of one continuous piece of music. Q
I have a 2009 Nissan Altima with radio controls on the steering wheel. Will the radio controls on the steering wheel still work for this radio? The radio I want to replace is factory.

    A
The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Does the clock display when the radio is powered off?

Turning the power off will turn the unit off completely and not display the clock on this model.

Does anyone else not have all menu options shown in the manual? Specifically, I have no BASS, TREBLE, VOL LAS/ADJ, AREA US/EU, CLOCK 12/24. BEEP ON/OFF.

If you press the volume button once (just press and release) you'll get the EQ, fader, balance, etc. If you enable the EQ (pop, rock, classical, etc.) when you're in this mode then the bass & treble options aren't shown. You have to set the EQ to off (or none, I don't remember what the option is), then the bass & treble options will be shown. If you press & hold the volume button then the area US/EU, clock 12/24 and beep options are shown.

Press the volume knob once and you should get all the options by rotating the knob clockwise. Once the option you are wanting is displayed, press the knob again to set. Continue setting the same way for the other options.

How can I adjust the dialtone? It is f default at volume 15 which is very loud. I can lower it but I can't figure out how to save the changes when I make it volume 4.

    A
The Volume for dialtone appears to be at highest level by default in the Boss. To adjust, lower the output volume on the phone. Pair the phone and Boss again with the output volume on the phone adjusted to about half way level. Once the output volume on the phone has been adjusted to about half level, it should be maintained at the chosen setting on the Boss. This should not affect the set volume of the phone once blue tooth mode is disabled and will revert to whatever level you had it set prior to engaging blue tooth. Hope that helps.

Is this compatible with a 15 inch subwoofer?
    pugg  Nov 13, 2017
    1 answer
    A
A 15" subwoofer will need an amplifier to power it. Both the Boss & JVC stereos provide the RCA pre-amp outputs for providing the audio signal to an external amplifier. Does this have a microphone built in for bluetooth phone calls? How well does it work while driving?

The Bluetooth call works thru your car speakers. It works very well while driving. I have had no issues at all. As long a you have your phone mated to the stereo.

Yes, it does. However (and this could be due to installation issues ) it has a lot of engine noise, according to my daughter. But it DOES work.

Can this be set to display the clock at all times? Though specifically if the radio or CD are playing since those are the two I use most.

I have never been able to make this happen. It would be great if we could have that feature.

I never found a way to have the radio show the time other than pushing the right buttons to show the time. And I believe if you did not do it right it turned the radio off. I hope I am answering about the right radio. I had a pioneer radio installed in a different vehicle shortly before I installed the the boss in a different vehicle. I wish I would have installed the pioneer radio in both vehicles because I liked it more and it showed the time constantly, and I would have only needed to learn one radio. I have to say the boss was a good value but I installed the radio shortly before a whitetail deer decided to total the ranger I had it mounted in so it is now in my garage disconnected. But it did work very well other than not showing the time normally.

Yes, you can see the screen during the daytime. There are several colors that can be selected for the screen. Some of them are easier to see you during the day than others.

Thanks for your question. It is one CD at a time. To my knowledge there are no aftermarket receivers that accept more than one. Hope this helps.
