Our take on the Terk Omni Tower

Terk's Omni Tower can hide in plain sight — it doesn't look like a conventional TV antenna. It doesn't perform like one, either. The Omni Tower can pull in free over-the-air HDTV broadcasts from multiple directions, so you don't have to move it to pick up signals from different TV towers.

Terk's sleek Omni Tower doesn't look like a conventional TV antenna.

Terk's patent pending 360° multi-directional design improves performance without having to make adjustments when you change channels. It can pull in stations in the UHF and high-band VHF ranges (channels 7-51).

Terk's DualBoost amplifier

One feature that sets the Omni Tower apart from other indoor antennas is Terk's DualBoost amplifier technology. In maximum amplification mode, this dual-stage design boosts the signal at the antenna, and again as the signal gets close to your TV.

Product Highlights:

  • receives digital and analog TV signals — high-band VHF (channels 7-13) and UHF (channels 14-51)
  • patent-pending 360° multi-directional design for improved performance without any adjustments
  • DualBoost amplifier can boost the signal at the antenna and again near your TV
  • amplifier has a 3-way switch that lets you adjust the amount of amplification for different TV signals
  • coaxial cable included
  • 4-5/8"W x 10-7/8"H x 4-5/8"D
  • weight: 1.3 lbs.
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

What's in the Box:

  • Indoor HDTV antenna
  • Amplifier (attached to antenna with 5' cable)
  • Power adapter (attached to amplifier with 6' cable)
  • 3' Coax cable (attached to amplifier)
  • Quick Start Guide

I thought I would give this a shot because rabbit ears were not doing it for me, always having to adjust their direction. This item works better, but is not a cure all.

Product Research

Amplified Multi-Directional Indoor Antenna: The Terk Omni receives TV broadcasts including 4K and 1080 HDTV for the highest-quality picture and sound, both UHF (470-698MHz) and VHF (174-216MHz) stations. Its patent pending 360° Multi-Directional design improves performance without having to make adjustments when changing channels. Innovative dual-stage amplifier technology boosts the signal at the antenna and boosts the signal again near your TV.

Amplifier Settings: The amplifier has a 3-way switch (Dual/Preamp/Bypass) that lets you adjust the amplifier for different TV signals. The "Dual" position uses both external amplifier and the preamp built into the antenna itself. The "Preamp" position uses just the preamp. The "Bypass" position turns all amplification off. Most TV channels will perform better with this switch left in the "Dual" position. However, if a channel is not providing the performance you expect, try watching it with this switch in the "Preamp" or "Bypass" position to see if that makes a difference.

Antenna Placement: Place the antenna on a flat surface within reach of your TV, facing the direction where most of your broadcast towers are located. Place the antenna close to in a window if possible, and position it as high as possible. Avoid placing the antenna on a metal surface.

Power Requirements: The Terk Omni features an external power adapter that will need to be plugged into an AC wall outlet or surge protector.

Why did you buy this?

Chose it because is omni-directional, which I am hoping means it can sit behind the tv or speaker (out of sight). Tired of seeing the cable and the 12x12 flat antenna hanging from the patio door. [ corey  Nov 11, 2018 ]
reviews, price, omni-directional, looks and built in amplifier. [ Kevin  Oct 23, 2018 ]

This is our second Channel Master DVR.. We decided that we did not want to transport our original unit to and from our homes and set them up whenever we moved so we ordered a new unit. We cannot live without them! They work well in the city and in the country where our signal is weak. Hence I ordered the tower antenna to try and improve our reception.. [ Arthur S.  Jun 27, 2018 ]
Looking to dump cable. Will try the Terk Omni. Hopefully it works like I need so I can give the cable company the boot [ Kimberly  May 29, 2018 ]

For the longer distance (65 miles) it's best to use an outdoor, long range, directional antenna model. If you want to use the same antenna for signals from multiple directions, you'll also want to add a rotor to adjust the antenna's position based on the desired channel. For additional assistance and personalized recommendations, feel free to contact us directly by phone or through our online chat service: [ Ryan  Jan 19, 2018 ]  Staff
I've looked through all the details we have for the range. I cannot find any mention. Usually, multi-directional antennas like this have a maximum range of 20-40 miles for the stations they can pull in. I'd recommend contact Terk on 800-645-4994 to see if they have more specific information on its range. My Bio: [ Paul  Jan 15, 2018 ]  Staff
