Why did you buy this?

A handy device for super steady shooting. [ Florence  Jun 27, 2018 ]
My old remote didn't work, but it was not a Nikon. [ Gary L.  Feb 15, 2018 ]
This device was included in the User Manual for the D3400. There are some photo projects I have in mind which will require a remote. I checked the prices online and found Crutchfield to be competitive in price. [ Kevin  Dec 23, 2017 ]
For Nikon D3400 [ Yolanda  Mar 30, 2017 ]
So I can also be in the picture [ DANA R  Dec 13, 2016 ]

No, the camera has the infrared built in to receive the signal from the ML-L3. The WU-1A is a stand alone unit that plugs into the camera to use it with a smart phone, it acts like a remote, but also allows you to send the pics to your smart phone after you take them. I bought the ML-L3 first since it was priced in my budget at the time and later bought the WU-1A, I have not used the ML-L3 since. Hope this helps. [ JESSE  Jan 12, 2015 ]
I use it with a D7000. It should work with no additional equipment on a D3200. The infared signal should work just fine. [ David  Jan 12, 2015 ]
The ML-L3 is compatible with the D3200. [ Jeff  Nov 24, 2014 ]  Staff
