About the Shure SM57
Setting the standard
Setting the standard
It's no exaggeration to refer to Shure's SM Series microphones as the industry standard. SM microphones have been carrying the torch for great sound for decades, at legendary performances both live and in the studio. When you want to know you've purchased a microphone that will stand the test of time — whether in durability or in sound quality — look no further than Shure's SM Series.
A 57 on a guitar amp — a familiar sight at live gigs and studio dates!
Workhorse
Talk about the SM57, and words like "workhorse" and "legendary" come up. Shure built this exceptionally versatile microphone to produce a clean sound with bright coloration — ideal for putting some pop into vocals and instruments. The SM57's cardioid pattern picks up the sound you want while minimizing sound from extraneous sources. That makes it a great choice for recording instruments like guitars and drums.
Built to last
The construction of the SM57 further clarifies the sound — a pneumatic shock-mount system cuts down on handling noise. And how about reliability? Can't beat this mic — it's proven itself over millions of miles of touring and millions of gigs.
