Our take on the AudioQuest Boxer by Crutchfield's Steve Kindig
Boxer packs a punch
AudioQuest's Boxer cable helps any powered subwoofer sound more realistic by minimizing any loss in the signal as it travels from your receiver to the sub. This cable features two identical solid conductors, and each conductor is a single, unbroken strand of AudioQuest's high-purity Long-Grain Copper, coated with silver. Solid conductors eliminate electrical and magnetic interference that can make multi-strand conductor cables sound brittle.
High-quality connectors eliminate the weakest link
Boxer features RCA connectors made of silver-plated copper. The connectors are fastened by cold welding — a solder-less process that uses high pressure and silver paste to minimize signal loss. By contrast, solder tends to impede the signal, and heating the copper conductor can negatively affect its performance.
AudioQuest takes a lot of care and pride in every aspect of their cables, including their appearance. Boxer cables come with a good-looking brown-and-black braided covering for the shorter lengths (5 meters and under). Longer lengths use a smooth PVC jacket that's CL3/FT4-rated for in-wall use.
- two silver-plated solid copper conductors for superior sound quality (silver layer is 1.25% of total conductor)
- polyethylene air-tube insulation minimizes energy storage and its associated distortion
- 100% shield coverage with AQ's carbon-based 3-layer Noise Dissipation System, to resist RFI interference
- cold-welded silver-plated RCA connectors
- built-in ground wire with spade lugs to prevent hum
- black-and-brown braided covering on lengths of 5 meters or less; 8-meter and longer lengths have a smooth PVC jacket
- warranty: 5 years
- Our 60-day money-back guarantee
What's in the Box:
- 6.5625' Mono-RCA subwoofer cable (w/ a male RCA connector and 8" ground wire on each end)
Un cable de categoria superior, muy buena contrucion y facil de intalar en el bajo, no como el cable Monster que habia que intalarlo a la fuerza. En fin muchicima Calidad aunque el precio es un poco alto.

Solid 1.25% Silver Conductors: Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality subwoofer cables.
Polyethylene Air-Tube Insulation: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. All of Boxer's conductors use PE Air-Tube Insulation because air absorbs next to no energy, and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. PE Air-Tube Insulation causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.
Carbon-Base 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS): Metal and Carbon-Loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane.
Double-Balanced Geometry: Electrically separate shield better preserves integrity of the negative conductor.
Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver Directly Over Pure Red Copper System: This plug design enables a perfect heat-free connection between cable and plug. The connection between the plug and conductors is made using AQ's Cold-Welded System, which provides a superior connection that ensures that the structural integrity of the conductor is kept completely intact. The Cold-Welded System refers to a combination of high pressure at the point of contact and the use of silver-impregnated paste.
Grounding: If you hear noticeable hum in your system after connecting your subwoofer, please attach the subwoofer cable's ground leads to your audio gear. Some audio equipment have a ground (GND) connection on the back-panel, if not, attach the ground spade lugs to any screw on the equipment chassis of both the source and the subwoofer. Usually, this wire will not need to be connected.

Why did you buy this?
With the quality of the subwoofer and receiver I bought, I did not want the connect to be the weak link and all the AQ cables I have bought and use are top quality and provide excellent sound and video. My Rocket Series speaker cables provide excellent clarity of sound so I wanted to keep that going, thus the Boxer purchase. [ David Jan 02, 2018 ]

Better quality and hopefully better sound!!!! [ W Jul 22, 2018 ]
A BIT PRICEY BUT CONCIDERING WHAT I AM INVESTING IN MY SYSTEM I THINK IT WILL DEFINTLY BE EAISLY WORTH IT. [ GARY Feb 07, 2018 ]
I know from research that this is a high performance quality product. [ Chuck Jan 15, 2017 ]
I needed another subwoofer cable and I purchased the audioquest sub x in 2013 and now it's discontinued. I chatted with Rusty and he explained to me what options I had so I decided to purchase the audioquest boxer because that was the replacement for the audioquest sub x. [ Tsgt2007 Oct 30, 2016 ]
