MoCA 2.0 network adapter for linking TiVo devices in a multi-room setup
Our take on the TiVo® Bridge by Crutchfield's Steve Kindig
Create a whole-house TiVo network
Got multiple TiVo devices? Want to network them all together seamlessly? The TiVo Bridge connects to your home's existing coax wiring and creates a fast, dependable multi-room Ethernet network. This lets you link TiVo devices in different rooms so that every device will receive TV signals and have access to all those cool TiVo features.
Wired Ethernet performance without running Ethernet cables to every room
The Bridge is an ideal solution if your TiVo DVR is located in a different room than your router, or if all your TiVo devices don't have convenient access to an Ethernet connection. As long as your home is wired for cable you can forget about drilling holes in walls to run Ethernet cables to every TV. The Bridge creates a high-speed network using coax wiring, which can carry high-speed data with no interference with cable TV or over-the-air antenna signals.
Simply make a wired connection from your router to the Bridge, and from the Bridge to your home's coax wiring to create a reliable MoCA network.
What is MoCA?
MoCA (pronounced "mocha," like the chocolate coffee drink) stands for Multimedia over Coax Alliance. MoCA delivers the same high-speed network connection you get with an Ethernet cable, and delivers it through the same coax cable you use to receive cable TV, to any room in your home.

TiVo Bridge: Connect the TiVo Bridge to your home's existing coax wiring and create a lightning-fast network for your TiVo receiver. All of your TiVo devices will receive TV signals and a full set of advanced TiVo features that connect to your home network. The wiring already exists, so there is no drilling holes in walls to run Ethernet cables to every TV.
- Speeds up to 450 Mbps bi-directional combined.
- Gives you full access to all of your recordings, live TV and built-in apps like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and more.
- MoCA 2.0 enabled and is backwards compatible with MoCA 1.1.

MoCA "Multimedia over Coax": MoCA networking is a great option if you want wired Ethernet speed, but you don't have easy access to a wired Ethernet connection. MoCA, which stands for "Multimedia over Coax" delivers the same high-speed network connection you get through an Ethernet cable, but delivers it through your existing coaxial cable (the wire you use to receive cable TV) to any room in your home.
Note: Wi-Fi and Powerline (also called HomePlug) networking are not sufficient for streaming shows reliably.
MoCA, on the other hand, provides 450 Mbit/s Net TCP throughput.
Optional MoCA POE Filter: : If you are using a TiVo receiver with MoCA and you have an antenna connected to your home's coax network, you must also install TiVo's MoCA POE Filter (592MOCAPOE, sold separately). Installing the MoCA POE Filter where the coax cable enters your home not only secures your network, but it also prevents signal conflicts with other MoCA networks and improves your MoCA network's performance.

Why did you buy this?
Because I want a constant, reliable, access of my internet connection over coax cable instead of wifi. [ Darryl Jul 25, 2017 ]
To connect my Tivo minis to my Tivo T6 DVR. The cable company does not stock them, and as a result I don't think they know how to install Tivo and link the boxes if the gateway is in one room and the DVR is in another room. [ GARY Jul 24, 2017 ]
To Bridge the Coax Network with my router. [ Mark F Jun 27, 2017 ]
1 question already asked
It will not work for just any DVR, no. The device must be compatible with MoCA (Multi-media over coax). It is compatible with your TiVo Bolt though. It will work for the Bolt, the older TiVo Roamio (Plus & Pro), and the TiVo mini. I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan [ Ryan Jul 26, 2017 ] Staff
