The Nikon WR-R10 transceiver is designed to work with Nikon's WR-T10 transmitter (not included) using radio frequencies to wirelessly control shutter release on Nikon DSLRs. One or more WR-R10 units can be paired with a WR-T10. You can also use the WR-R10 to control Nikon radio-controlled Speedlights, like the SB-5000 with a compatible Nikon camera (D5 and D500).
When the WR-R10 is used along with the WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter to connect select Nikon DSLRs with a 10-pin connector, one camera can be designated as "master" and control the shutter release of up to 64 WR-R10 transceivers.

Overview: The Nikon WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller (transceiver) is designed to work with the WR-T10 Wireless Remote Controller (transmitter) to wireless control the shutter release on select Nikon cameras. The WR-T10 and WR-R10 use radio frequencies to communicate with each other. You can pair a single WR-T10 transmitter with a up to 64 WR-R10 transceivers to simultaneously release the shutter on multiple cameras. Using a WR-A10 WR adapter, you can connect multiple WR-R10s together, and designate one as a master to control the shutter release of the other transceiver units.
Selectable Frequencies: Three radio frequency channels are available to prevent interference when multiple pairings or photographers are shooting in the same location. A slide switch on the side of the WR-R10 unit lets you choose between channels 5 (2.425 GHz), 10 (2.450 GHz), and 15 (2.475 GHz).
Range: The operating distance between a WR-T10 transmitter and a WR-R10 transceiver is 66 feet (20 meters). If you are using a WR-R10 with a WR-A10 adapter on a DSLR (acting as a master unit), the range to another WR-R10 is 164 feet (50 meters). Optimum transmission from one unit to another requires line-of-sight operation. Communication distance between a WR-R10 on the camera and an SB-5000 Speedlight is approximately 98 feet (30 meters).
Compatibility: The WR-R10 can be used with Nikon DSLR and film cameras equipped with the proprietary 10-pin remote or accessory terminals. It can also be used with Nikon radio-controlled flash units, such as the SB-5000 Speedlight.
