A versatile turntable for the digital age

The versatile Audio-Technica AT-LP5 lets you bring your favorite vinyl records into the digital age. A built-in USB output lets you digitize your albums so you can take them with you when you're on the go. It also has its own phono preamp, so you can connect to any receiver, or plug directly into a pair of powered stereo speakers.

And while it has all of the modern amenities, Audio-Technica hasn't forgotten their roots. They've brought back the J-shaped tonearm they used in the 60s and 70s, because it tracks record grooves with a high degree of accuracy. They've also included a lightweight AT-HS10 headshell with pre-mounted AT95Ex dual moving magnet phono cartridge, and all of the accessories you'll need to get started.

Features

Direct-Drive Turntable: The Audio-Technica AT-LP5 direct-drive turntable brings advanced technology and sleek, contemporary styling together for performance that looks as good as it sounds. Its precision-machined, die-cast aluminum platter is powered by a direct-drive, high-torque motor, ensuring stable, on-axis rotation at 33-1/3 or 45 RPM (adapter included). The platter is topped by a 5mm thick rubber damping mat that improves low-frequency reproduction.

J-Shaped Tonearm: Born of Audio-Technica's rich analog heritage, the AT-LP5 incorporates a J-shaped tonearm that takes its inspiration from the classic A-T models of the 1960s and 70s. The tonearm features a metallic gimbal suspension system and precision bearings to mitigate tracking errors, and includes an adjustable counterweight and anti-skate control.

Dual Moving Magnet Stereo Cartridge: The AT-LP5 comes outfitted with a lightweight (10g) AT-HS10 headshell and high-performance AT95EX Dual Moving Magnet stereo cartridge with an elliptical stylus, created specifically for this turntable. The headshell/cartridge/stylus assembly will need to be installed to the turntable's tonearm.

Anti-Vibration Construction: Constructed of anti-vibration damping materials with heavy-mass metal chassis inserts, the AT-LP5 turntable is a class leader in limiting low-frequency acoustical feedback. The anti-resonance feet are adjustable for leveling the turntable.

Switchable Preamp: The AT-LP5 features a built-in switchable phono/line preamp that enables it to be connected directly to a computer, home stereo, powered speakers, and other components that have no dedicated turntable input.

USB-B Output: The turntable is also equipped with a USB-B output and comes with a 6.5' USB cable for direct connection to your computer or laptop; plus comes with Window PC (XP-up) and Mac (OSX 10.4-up) compatible Audacity software that lets you convert your records to MP3, WAV, or other digital audio file formats (up to 16-bit 44.1/48kHz).

Stereo RCA Output: The AT-LP5 is outfitted with a set of stereo RCA outputs and includes a 40" stereo RCA cable to connect to your AV receiver, integrated amplifier, or powered speakers. Use the "GND" terminal to connect the grounding line of the RCA cables to the ground terminal of the amplifier.

Detachable Power Cord: The AT-LP5 includes a detachable 6' AC power cord (IEC 3-prong).

Hinged Dust Cover: The Audio-Technica AT-LP5 turntable comes with a hinged dust cover that is also removable.
