About the RetroSound VW-B62 Dash Speaker

Alexander H.

Important Note: This is a single 6-1/2" speaker, so you'll need to purchase a pair for vehicles with two 6-1/2" openings.

Designed with your classic VW Beetle in mind

RetroSound is always looking for seamless ways to retrofit new audio technology into a vintage setting. This single VW-B62 6-1/2" speaker is designed to fit in the dash or rear deck of select 1958-77 VW Beetle models. The woofer features dual voice coils, each one connected to its own tweeter, so, when properly connected to your receiver, you'll hear a full stereo mix from this one speaker.

Modern materials for better sound

The VW-B62 speaker features a sturdy pulp composite woofer and a foam surround that delivers accurate performance while standing up to extreme temperature swings in your car. The speaker's dipcut backplate allows extended excursion for satisfying punch in the lower midrange. And the two Mylar dome tweeters broadcast crisp, detailed highs. Finally, you'll be able to enjoy rich sound in your old gem without altering the classic look you love so much.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Where can I get the nuts that hold the speaker in place. I lost 2 of them down the wheel well. Any help appreciated? Tom

A
I lost one or two also and had to use a long skinny magnet to retrieve them. ACE hardware carries small treaded bolts and nuts. You don't have to have all four corners fastened. Three works fine.
