Did your receiver's Pandora® app quit working?

Here's what you need to know

Pandora is suddenly not working with a bunch of A/V receivers

A recent network update at Pandora has caused login failures for a number of home theater receivers and other Wi-Fi® equipped A/V components.

We’re currently aware of several Denon and Marantz models that were impacted by this change. The manufacturers are releasing firmware updates to resolve the issue. We've also heard from a few Yamaha customers who had trouble connecting to Pandora.

If you own a Denon receiver, you can find the firmware release date for your model here.

Check here if you own a Marantz receiver.

If you own a Yamaha receiver and cannot connect to Pandora, Yamaha recommends downloading the latest firmware to update your receiver. Visit their download site and enter your receiver's model number to see updates and instructions.

In the meantime...

You can still stream Pandora from your mobile device via Bluetooth® if you’re waiting on a firmware update.

iOS® users can stream Pandora to the receiver using the Apple® AirPlay® feature.

If your TV, Blu-ray player, or video game system has Pandora on it, you can play it through your receiver that way.

Deleting your Pandora account from your receiver and adding it back on may also work.

REMEMBER: We offer free tech support on everything we sell, for as long as you own it. Give us a call if you need any help with your purchase.

I have the Yamaha RX-A1020 receiver. I'm able to connect to Pandora, but after streamimg a few songs it stops working. The only solution is to turn off the receiver and turn it back on. This is not ideal and is a recurring problem. When is a fix coming?

It seems like its not just an home receiver issue. I have kenwood car audio receivers(couple years old and brand new touch screen) that this also has happened starting June 11th prior to the 11th Pandora app worked fine on both receivers. Now only work on BT input. I'm using Pandora premium. Hoping for fix soon, as stated app is even funky as well.

My Pandora on a Yamaha RXV-777bt is accessible. But it will only play one song then quits. I have not figured out a fix. Spotify changed how they operate, so that doesn't work like it used to either.

My pioneer 1130k pandora is down. No error this time and I can see the channels but once selected the title does not play.

After firmware upgrade of Denon AVR-1913 to 9290-3169-0000-6432-8097 last week, Pandora login does not complete, simply showing "OK" after a very brief "Please wait...". I suspect the firmware, rather than Pandora, due to timing of problem; Pandora login is fine on other platforms. Other network features seem ok.

Same issue here. My Denon firmware is up to date but my Pandora credentials are not accepted.

Right - the Pandora feature is currently broken. Last time this happened, a firmware update fixed the issue, but what scares me a little is that a couple years ago Napster made a change that was hardware incompatible and could not be fixed with a firmware update, so I've been wondering how long it would be until Pandora did the same. I wonder if it's finally happened.

I haven't been able to logon to Pandora on either my Marantz or Denon receiver as of 3/9/18. Both have the latest firmware. Did Pandora do an update that's causing the problem like the last time?

Looks like it is happening again. Anyone else experiencing this with Denon?

My AVR-2113CR stopped working on Pandora. I updated firmware which was available but it still won't connect. I enter what I know are the correct username and password, click [OK] and nothing happens.

Wish I could delete my previous post. Today, after hours of trying to fix the pandora / onkyo problem... I finally decided to delete my Pandora account. (Problem-the email address for it was obsolete and I couldn't remember my password so it would not let me delete without a phone call. Who has time for that.) So I signed out... and created a brand new Pandora account. Now my onkyo tx8050 notices pandora and plays just fine over my outdoor speakers. All fixed. Just that simple. (Argh!)

My Onkyo is a TX 8050.... 2011 model I believe... Same thing with Pandora. Will not play anymore... just an error msg. Internet is fine. I've downloaded the latest firmware..and updated the onkyo app. I just don't understand. (Sad face)

Hi Michael. The '929 is a 2013 model, so it is one of the ones affected by the current Pandora issue. We'll post an update here once we have more information from Onkyo.

Hi Michael and Bob. This is a known issue affecting Pandora compatible Onkyo receiver models from 2013 and earlier. Onkyo is currently working on a fix for this. We'll add more details in the comments section here as they become available. Thanks.

I have a problem with my Onkyo TXN-709 connecting to pandora. It worked for years and the receiver also connects with other app's. Is Onkyo going to fix this?

My Onkyo 828 just stopped connecting to Pandora. It has been working for years. Have you heard from Onkyo owners with the same problem. I have determined that it is not my internet connection because my Blueray player sitting below the receiver connects to Pandora without any problem.

After the firmware upgrade I had Pandora directly through my AVR x1100W. Untill today that is. Woke up and wanted to listen to Christmas music and none of the apps worked through my Denon. It is not a network issue since I can turn on my Blu ray and have all of the apps working so it is definately the receiver.
