Features

Balanced Dome Tweeter: Each speaker has a PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced dome tweeter. PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone; balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

Mounting: The speaker basket has multiple mounting holes and is designed to fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2" applications, 4-hole 6-1/2" applications, and standard 4-hole 6-3/4" applications. (When mounting in a 6-3/4" application, use a speaker baffle to seal the inner ring of screw holes.)

Q
Is it for just one door or both?

Not sure on your question, however I bought them for both sides and all 4 channels L, R, Front and Back speakers. They come as a pair, and it is important to replace both side L & R to keep balanced loads. Good speakers, low profile, should fit fine in doors.

There are two speakers in the box. These fit the front and rear doors of the Ridgeline.

Q
How do I know what speaker mount is best for my vehicle and do you sell them? I am assuming all aftermarket speakers need new mounting brackets as the stock OEM brackets may be too small or too big for the aftermarket speaker. Thanks.
kawika  Feb 22, 2018

A
Crutchfield offers mounts that will fit your new speakers and they are likely to fit your vehicle as well. In one instance I cut the OEM speaker out of its mount and attached it to the new speaker and that worked very well. Just depends on what you want to try and the time you have to experiment.

Q
How is the bass?
puggo0007  Oct 17, 2017

No bass. I use these as tweets and mids with 12 inch Memphis audio subs. I don't recommend using these by there selves without subs or at least 6 by 9's
paul  Oct 19, 2017
A
The bass is good for a small-ish mid-range speaker. It's stronger with the high and mid range, as expected, but the bass isn't disappointing. Important to keep your expectations in-check for the class of speaker this is. If you are expecting a full range on the deep end you will want to add a small sub (under seat possibly) to fill out the sound.

Q
Will these work with a power acoustik rz42000d? Or is that too much power?
anthony  Mar 07, 2017
1 answer
A
The max wattage of jvc speakers is 300RMS watts but not sustained. At 4 ohms the speakers would be able to handle the unit. At 2 ohms the unit will produce around 500 watts. Only use 4 ohms using the jvc speakers. The less ohms means less resistance which produced more watts.

Q
Would 2 pairs of 50w rms speakers work with a 800 watt amp 2channels?
michael  May 13, 2016
1 answer
A
The best way match speakers to an amp is to look at the RMS watts and ohms of both and make sure they match. I would guess that the 800 watt rating on the amp is its peak power output which does not give us the information needed to confirm they will work together. If I were you, I would track down the specifications on the amp to see if its output falls in the 75 watts RMS or less per channel at 4 ohms. If so, then it will work with these speakers. Otherwise, I would not connect it. Feel free to call an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for an amp recommendation. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101
