1 answer can you add this to the soundtouch 300 bar to use for tv speakers? I currently have the soundtouch 300 and acoustimass 300 hooked up to my tv, the sound is great but I have in-ceiling wired speakers from my previous system that I would like to use. Would this be the answer to my problems and could I link all these together not only for my tv sound but for music and entertainment as well? [ Joel Dec 30, 2017 ]
Sorry, no. The HDMI and optical inputs of the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar cannot be shared with other SoundTouch devices (like the SA5 amplifier). If you want to add some wireless surrounds, you can use the compatible VI300 but these have built-in speakers are would not power your in-ceiling models: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_018VI300/item.html [ Ryan Jan 05, 2018 ] Staff
Yep! As Robert alluded to above, all of the Bose SoundTouch components have the ability to play the same song simultaneously; or you can choose to play different songs through each individual Bose SoundTouch component in your home. For more details or to discuss further, please contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. Thanks! :) [ Larry Nov 13, 2017 ] Staff
All sound touch devices that are on the same network can be linked to play the same thing. The amp can also play via blue tooth or aux, but I? dont think Bluetooth and aux connections will not "back feed" via WiFi to the other devices on your sound touch system. [ Robert Nov 07, 2017 ]
You will have to download the bose app on your phone but once you do that you can link them both together to play the same music. [ Shaun Jun 13, 2017 ]
Yes. [ Robert Jun 13, 2017 ]
I Don't know [ John M. Jun 13, 2017 ]
I'm afraid there's no specific mention of an "auto" power off feature for the SA-5 in the specs or owner's manual. Given that there is no physical on/off switch or button on the amplifier itself, it is very likely that it will automatically shutdown after a given time period of no music playing through it (like the other SoundTouch speakers); but if you'd like to find this out for certain your best bet is through Bose directly. You can call them at 800-999-2673 or check their support site: https://www.bose.com/en_us/support.html [ Larry Apr 19, 2017 ] Staff
3 answers I have 8 Bose Free Space 51 Outdoor speakers (100W/8ohm). It appears I can use 2 of these amps will push 100 watts to each of the 8 speakers. How do I get the music to stream from my iPhone to both of these amps simultaneously? Do I sync the iPhone to each amp separately via Bluetooth Seems like there would be potential for lag or other issues. [ Scott Apr 08, 2017 ]
Let me explain my previous answer.. I have along with the speakers the Bose amps to push my system. The app interfaces with the amp not the speakers.... [ Jacob Apr 08, 2017 ]
Download the Bose app. In the app u can control all or just one amp at a time and is where you would also stream music from. [ Jacob Apr 08, 2017 ]
Once connected to one of the amps, use the app to have the second amp play what the first one is playing. You cannot connect to both simultaneously via Bluetooth. [ Robert Apr 08, 2017 ]

The Bose SA-5 offers no option for connecting a microphone for Karaoke. For that, you may want to consider a system like the Singtrix Party Bundle: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_220SINGTX1/Singtrix-Party-Bundle.html While I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, I hope the information helps. [ Ryan Jan 27, 2017 ] Staff
My understanding is yes. I have not hooked mine up yet but the information from Bose is that they will work on any speakers as long as the oms match is correct. I will be using this amp with non-Bose and Bose speakers. You can determine this by looking on the back of your speakers and following the installation instructions from Bose. [ CHRISTOPHER M May 03, 2016 ]
Yes [ Robert May 03, 2016 ]
You can wire up to four speakers to the amp (each speaker must be a minimum 8-ohm impedance), but there's no dedicated subwoofer output on the Bose SA-5 amplifier so your subwoofer must accept speaker-level inputs in order to work with the SA-5. I hope that helps. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=159 [ Larry Apr 18, 2016 ] Staff
Yes. You need a Wi-Fi network in order to control the player with the Bose APP and to stream audio content from your home network and online music services. While the SA-5 also features Bluetooth, it must be connected to a Wi-Fi network initially for setup and updates before you can pair any Bluetooth devices. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan Apr 11, 2016 ] Staff
No. It's made for use in home audio applications only. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan Apr 01, 2016 ] Staff
The amplifier can only broadcast one input at a time to all speakers attached. What is broadcasting on speaker A will be the only thing available on B. If you want different music you will have to by another amplifier. [ Jacob Feb 11, 2016 ]
