Perfect Bass Kit (PBK): Even when a MartinLogan subwoofer is ideally placed, the dynamics of each listening environment present a unique challenge for bass performance. The Perfect Bass Kit (PBK) learns vital information about your unique space, maximizing the subwoofer's performance. The PBK system employs your PC, connected via USB to a microphone and your MartinLogan subwoofer, to identify problem areas in your listening environment. The PBK processes information from multiple data points and configures the optimal solution, achieving pinpoint-accurate room response.
Compatibility: The Perfect Bass Kit (PBK) is for use with a MartinLogan powered subwoofer with a PBK Interface (such as the Dynamo 1500X, sold separately) to correct the effects of room boundaries on sound quality. PBK can be used with up to four MartinLogan subwoofers. The included PBK software installation CD requires a Windows PC running XP, Vista, or 7; and two free USB (type-A) ports.
Note: If your home theater receiver also has a Room Correction system, PBK should be set up and running before setting up your system's 'EQ', especially if more than one PBK subwoofer will be in use.
PC Software: The PBK included software disc employs your PC's processor to calculate correction curves for each measurement point, substantially minimizing the rounding errors of less sophisticated "calculators", like those used in standard room equalization systems. PBK uses proprietary processing to compute the subwoofer's in-room frequency response and then computes a target frequency response for the subwoofer to yield optimal in-room sound.
Note: Check MartingLogan's website for the latest PBK software download.
Multiple-Measurement Points: Current room equalization systems are capable of taking a single measurement at the primary listening position. PBK utilizes multiple measurement points, at least five (up to ten) individual data positions, allowing PBK to learn the individual characteristics of your room.
Mic & Stand: The Perfect Bass Kit (PBK) includes a microphone and telescoping stand. During the measurement process, the microphone must be pointed toward the ceiling and be positioned at ear level when you are seated.
USB Cables: The included 12.5' USB cables connect the PBK's microphone and your compatible MartinLogan subwoofer to your Windows PC.

Selected ML PBK to fine tune ML Dynamo 1500X subwoofer in a Martin Logan home theater system. [ Michael Apr 20, 2017 ]
I chose this along with the ML Dynamo 1500X subwoofer to better adjust and optimize the bass operation in the dedicated room that I use for my home theater. This was one of the specific reasons that I chose the ML Dynamo 1500X subwoofer as it was the only Dynamo model to have PBK support. The next option is the ML Balanced Force series. [ KEITH Mar 03, 2017 ]
I don't have any auto-adaptation or equalization to balance the subwoofer response in my system. So this Perfect Bass Kit should work to better adapt the frequency response in my listening area. Plus it beats dragging heavy subwoofer around the room to find the "perfect spot" [ Jon Feb 03, 2016 ]
