Product Research

Overview: The ClearView AVS-PTZ-HD2-C is a heavy-duty, motorized pan-tilt-zoom dome camera designed for indoor or outdoor use in a closed circuit system. This high-definition camera has a 12x optical zoom lens. It also includes a 1/2.8" 2-megapixel Exmor CMOS imaging device with 1944 (H) x 1092 (V) effective pixels. The AVS-PTZ-HD2-C operates on 24VDC/1.5A via the included AC adapter.

Video Format: The AVS-PTZ-HD2-C can output video in H.264 and Motion JPEG (MJPEG) dual-stream encoding at 1080p/30fps or 720p/60 or 30 fps. The camera works with HD-AVS systems. HDAVS is an HD video transmission standard that can be transmitted long distances (500 meters) over 75-3 coaxial cable without any loss.

Note: The camera also has a single audio channel output.

12x Optical Zoom Lens: The camera is equipped with a 12x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 5.1mm-61.2mm. lens with a horizontal viewing angle of 51.3° to 4.64°. It has a maximum aperture of F1.2 at wide angle and F2.1 at telephoto. The close focus distance is 100mm (3.94") at wide angle and 1000mm (39.4") at telephoto. In addition to the 12x optical zoom, the camera has a 16x digital zoom for an even closer look.

Low Light Performance: The AVS-PTZ-HD2-C has a bright F1.2-F2.1 lens with a minimum illumination of 0.05 Lux (F1.6) for color video, and 0.005 Lux (F1.6) for black/white video.

Pan/Tilt Range: The AVS-PTZ-HD2-C features an endless 0° to 360° pan range. It has a -2° to 90° tilt range, but can also tilt 180° and automatically flip the picture at 90° for proper orientation.

Speed Dome: The speed of the pan, tilt, and zoom action can be set manually or automatically in the camera's menu. The panning speed can be manually set between 0.1° to 300° per second. The manual tilt speed can be set between 0.1° to 120° per second. The preset speeds are 300°/sec for panning and 200°/sec for tilting. To keep the image from moving too fast when there is a large amount of zoom, the pan and tilt speeds are proportionally increased or decreased according to the depth of the zoom.

Tours, Patterns, Auto Scans: The movements of the AVS-PTZ-HD2-C can be memorized into a "tour" or a "pattern." You can configure a routine for the camera by setting specific preset locations for the lens to view. The tour time and stop duration at each preset are set into the menu, and the speed dome will begin automatically touring between the preset locations. You can also program the camera to memorize dome operations such as pan, tilt, and zoom to perform repeatedly as a pattern. Auto scans pan the camera back and forth between set left and right limits at a preset scan speed. You can save up to 8 tours, 5 patterns, and 5 auto scans to recall as needed.

Privacy Masking: If there are areas in the camera's view that you do not wish to show, you can use privacy masking to obscure those areas. The rectangular masking areas will move with pan and tilt functions, and change in size as the lens zooms. Up to 24 zones can be selected for privacy masking.

Mounting Accessories: The AVS-PTZ-HD2-C can be mounted to an indoor or outdoor wall using the Clearview Wall Mount Arm and Wall Mount Adapter Plate (both sold separately). The camera attaches to the adapter plate with 4 screws (supplied with the plate), and the plate threads onto the wall mount arm. The arm's mounting base is 4-1/2" wide and 6-3/8" high, with four mounting screw holes. The entire wall mounting assembly holds the camera approximately 9" from the wall and provides a wide view of the area below.
