Our take on the Pinpoint AM21 by Crutchfield's Dave Bar
Securely mount your compact satellite speakers on your wall or ceiling with the Pinpoint AM21 bracket. This universal speaker mount is the lightweight version of Pinpoint's AM20 bracket, and has been designed for maximum versatility and compatibility with a wide range of smaller home theater speakers. Its ball-and-socket joint gives you a 90° pivot, and you can rotate the mounting arm a full 360° for added positioning flexibility.
The AM21 is perfect for folks who want to connect in-wall speaker cable to a wall-mounted speaker. It includes a metal mounting plate that can attach directly to a standard single-gang junction box. Just install a J-box where you'd like to mount your speaker, and you'll have a safe, clean way for your in-wall cable to exit your wall. You'll enjoy a clean, uncluttered appearance with no exposed wires.

Compatibility: The Pinpoint AM21 Universal Speaker Mount is constructed from steel and aluminum for durability and strength. The Pinpoint AM21 can be used as a wall or ceiling mount bracket for speakers up to 5 lbs. Its suitable for speakers with a key-hole slot, as well as speakers with a rear-mount or bottom-mount single threaded insert (M4, M5, M6, 1/4"-20). This mount comes with all the hardware needed to mount your speaker to both a solid surface (drywall/block), as well as single gang electrical box.
Installation: An included color matched adapter plate allows the AM21 to be mounted on a single gang electrical box, found in pre-wired locations in home theater rooms. The adapter plate adds a custom appearance for a professional looking installation. Plastic covers hide mounting hardware for a clean, professional appearance when not using the electrical plate adapter. The Pinpoint AM21's modular design allows your speaker to be attached to the bracket after installing it to the wall or ceiling, and offers adjustable tilt and swivel. A comprehensive hardware kit provides the most common screw sizes (M4, M5, M6, 1/4"-20) for attaching your speaker.
Adjustable: The AM21 can be rotated 360-degrees and tilts 90-degrees. Included mounting-arms allow the speaker to be positioned 2.75", 3.75", or 6" (standard mounting) and 2.15", 3.15", or 3.40" (electrical box mounting) from the wall or ceiling allowing for exact speaker placement and improved sound for home theater systems.

That will depend on exactly which speakers you have. However, if the speakers have a keyhole slot or a threaded insert for mounting, and are under 5 lbs each, then this bracket will work great with them. [ Jeff Mar 03, 2014 ] Staff

I don't have the Sonos 1, but it doesn't seem to have a standard mounting point. I see that there are some third-party adapters for the Sonos, so you'd need both the mounting bracket and the adapter. Also, several people have complained that the AM21 can drift or sag, and the Sonos' weight of 4.1 lb is getting close to the AM21's design limit of 5 lb, so you might want to consider something a little stronger. I used the AM21 for lighter speakers at 2.9 lb and struggled a little to get them tight enough. I like the idea of the AM21 but they need to make it hold position more securely. [ Russ May 02, 2016 ]
