About the Pioneer TS-A2000LD2

A shallow-mount sub that rocks
A shallow-mount sub that rocks
Pioneer's TS Series shallow-mount subs bring great bass to vehicles where conventional subs won't fit. Their low profile allows the use of slender enclosures that'll fit behind a truck seat or into any tight space while delivering the bass performance you need. The TS-A2000LD2 8" shallow-mount sub handles up to 250 watts RMS with a mounting depth of just 2-5/8".
Mica-injected molded resin cone
The TS-A2000LD2 features an oversized cone made of mica and glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene that moves more air and delivers accurate bass. The dual 2-ohm voice coils allow you to wire the sub for 1- or 4-ohm impedance. The sub works best in a small sealed enclosure, making it ideal for those tight spaces in today's smaller vehicles.

Features
Woofer Cone: Pioneer uses a glass fiber and mica reinforced injection molded polypropylene (IMPP) cone, making it more rigid than polypropylene alone.
Shallow Mount Woofer: Pioneer's Shallow-Mount subwoofers are designed to provide wider installation options for a broad range of vehicles. They can be mounted in select factory subwoofer locations, as well as behind or under the seats of many vehicles.
Dual 2Ω Voice Coils: This woofer features two 2Ω voice coils that offer wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.
Terminals: The spring post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.
Sealed Box Volume: Pioneer recommends a sealed enclosure with an internal volume between 0.15 ft³ and 0.5 ft³, with an ideal volume of 0.5 ft³. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over the woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.
Ported Box Volume: The recommended ported box volume ranges from 0.25 ft³ to 0.5 ft³, with the ideal size being 0.5 ft³, using a single 3" diameter x 8" long port. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed, maximizing bass output for a given amplifier.
Measurements: When mounting the woofer with the trim ring, the dimensions change as follows:
- Mounting Height: 0.54"
- Flange Height: 0.54"
- Frame Diameter: 8.9"

Under rear seat Installation for'07 Tundra. Not an exact fit (the cover could not be installed with the speaker) but it produces an excellent (I.e. night vs. day) sound experience nevertheless. Very glad this was recommended for my application.
