All the music you want — anywhere in your home

Access Pandora® Internet radio, Spotify®, Apple Music™, Rhapsody®, SiriusXM, and 100,000 free Internet radio stations — no matter where you are in your home. The compact Sonos® PPlay:3 lets you enjoy music from the Internet as well as songs stored on your home computers — without filling your room with audio gear. It's perfect for small rooms and cozy corners, and setup is as easy as pushing a button.

Expand to any (or every) room

Place Sonos players, like the Play:3 and the larger Play:5, in every room where you want to listen to music. You can set up the players to work on your existing Wi-Fi® network. Or, you can connect any Sonos speaker to your network router, and Sonos will create its own dedicated wireless network for even better performance. You can also use a Boost to create this network if you can't place a speaker near your router.

Sonos controllers

The Sonos app gives you easy wireless control

You can use an iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad®, or Android™ phone to control any and all Sonos players. A free download turns your smartphone and tablet into a full-fledged Sonos controller. Easily navigate and search through playlists and tracks stored on your computer, or select an Internet radio station. Create customized playlists on the fly for individual rooms or for playback over your entire Sonos system. You can also mute or adjust the volume of each of your players.

Trueplay speaker tuning for optimal sound

If you use your Sonos control app on an iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®, great news. You can use your iOS® device to fine-tune the Play:3 with Sonos's Trueplay feature. It uses the mic built into your device to measure how the sound reflects off your walls and furnishings, and then it adjusts the speaker's settings for the best possible sound. Trueplay works with every Play:1, Play:3, and Play:5 speaker in your system. (Currently for iOS devices only.)

Spotify, Apple Music, SiriusXM, and more at your fingertips

The Sonos system works seamlessly with a host of streaming music services, including  Spotify, Pandora,  Apple Music, Rhapsody, TIDAL and more. You also have access to thousands of Internet radio stations from around the world through TuneIn Radio, and terrestrial radio stations through iHeartRadio. If you subscribe to SiriusXM Internet Radio, you can tune into all your favorite programming on any Sonos player in your system.

Play music stored on your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®

Sonos gives you convenient wireless access to music and podcasts stored in the Music app of your iOS devices, for playback throughout your entire Sonos system. This function works on devices running iOS6 or later (see below for full list of compatible Apple devices). The system even lets you connect a combination of up to 16 PCs, Mac® computers, smartphones, tablets, and digital music storage devices from your home network simultaneously.

Queue up songs from your iPhone to play in the kitchen while you cook, while your spouse streams a podcast in the den from the family computer, and your children use their tablet to enjoy music from their kid-friendly Pandora station — all at the same time.

Using an Alexa voice control assistant with your Sonos system

Sonos has introduced a new speaker that has Alexa voice control built right in — the Sonos One. It lets you select songs from compatible music services using nothing but your voice. You can also control your Alexa-compatible smart home devices with it.

But what if you already have Sonos speakers around your home, like the Play:3? You can get those same cool voice control features by adding an Alexa-compatible voice control assistant and pairing it with your existing Sonos system via the Alexa mobile app. Alexa will "see" all the rooms that you have set up in your Sonos system, and you can control music playback in all of them, simply by talking to your Alexa device.

Sonos Music System

Sonos Wireless Multiroom Audio: The PLAY:3 is part of the Sonos wireless multiroom music eco-system consisting of a family of wireless network speakers, players, and amplifiers. Start with a single PLAY:3 speaker and add more over time - including the Sonos PLAY:1 / PLAY:3 / PLAY:5 powered speakers, the Sonos One voice-activated speaker, the Sonos Connect:Amp / Connect zone players, and the PLAYBAR / PLAYBASE / BEAM soundbar speakers (all sold separately). With multiple zones, you can play the same or different songs in different rooms of your home. Up to 32 Sonos devices can be connected in one system.

Two Ways to Connect Wirelessly: Sonos brings great sounding music wirelessly to any room in your house, without a big wiring project through SonosNet or WiFi.

  • SonosNet Wireless Mesh Network: Sonos can utilize its own SonosNet proprietary wireless mesh network technology to provides superior wireless range for whole-house coverage, ensure synchronous music playback, and avoid sources of wireless interference. The transmitting range of the Sonos wireless system is approximately 100', depending upon your home's layout. In addition to the PLAY:3, you will need a Sonos Boost (sold separately) connected to your network router/modem via a Ethernet cable.
  • WiFi Wireless Network: Sonos can also operate over your home's existing WiFi network (802.11 b/g; 2.4GHz). Because you are connecting wirelessly to your home's existing WiFi network, you do not need to hardwire a Sonos Boost to your router/modem. The Sonos system's wireless range will be dependent on your home's existing WiFi network. Sonos products manufactured after March 2014 are loaded with the proper firmware and ready to go out of the box for WiFi connectivity. All Sonos products manufactured prior to that date will require a wired connection to facilitate a firmware upgrade and  hereafter they will be able to work over WiFi.
  • You cannot connect the Sonos system via both the SonosNet proprietary mesh network and WiFi; you will need to choose one. Sonos recommends using its proprietary SonosNet wireless mesh network over WiFi when applicable.
  • The Sonos proprietary mesh network will provide a more secure wireless connection with fewer interruptions for optimum performance.
  • WiFi is subject to greater interference from other WiFi and 2.4GHz devices on your network. WiFi connectivity is not compatible with 5GHz (you will have to use the Sonos wireless mesh network in this case).

Ethernet Port (10/100 Mbps): In addition to built-in WiFi, the Sonos PLAY:3 is equipped with one Ethernet port (10/100 Mbps). Use it to wire directly to your router to operate Sonos if WiFi is unstable, or use the Ethernet port to provide Internet accessibility to non-wireless devices if you're using a SonosNET Boost setup.

Music Streaming Services: Sonos gives you access to unlimited music; such as your iTunes library, your favorite music services, and thousands of Internet radio stations, shows, and podcasts.

  • Online Music Services: Sonos works seamlessly with TuneIn, Spotify, Pandora, SiriusXM, Google Play Music, Apple Music, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Rhapsody, TIDAL, Deezer, SoundCloud, and more; plus downloads from any service offering DRM-free tracks. (Service availability varies by region.) Click here for the latest online music services (some online services require a paid subscription).
  • Music Libraries: Sonos supports playback of music from any computer or network-attached storage (NAS) device on your home network where you have shared music folders. Sonos can play music stored on up to 16 PCs, Macs or NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices on your home network, supporting the most popular audio formats. Sonos indexes your music folders so you can view your music collection by categories (such as artists, albums, composers, genres, or tracks). Sonos supports the following audio file formats - MP3 (compressed), WMA (compressed), AAC (MPEG4), iTunes, Ogg Vorbis, Audible (format 4), Apple Lossless, FLAC (lossless), WAV (uncompressed), and AIFF (uncompressed).
  • iTunes Music: The Sonos wireless music system supports the playback of music and playlists managed with your iTunes account (playlists are limited to 40,000 tracks). Sonos can access your iTunes music files from your network computer or directly from your Apple iPod iOS device (4.0+) running the Sonos app.

Sonos Controller App: Sonos allows you to control its audio setup, playback functions, and search features through the Sonos Controller app (for Apple iOS 9.0+ and Android OS 4.3+) or the Sonos Controller software (for Windows PC (7-up) and Mac OS X 10.10-up) - letting you control the entire Sonos eco-system from your compatible smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer. The new navigation bar (My Sonos, Rooms, Browse, Search and More) at the bottom of the app makes finding what you're looking for effortless and moving between music quicker than ever.

  • My Sonos: Organize your music with the My Sonos tab. It's the simplest way to combine and access all the music you love. Bringing together in one simple screen all your favorite songs, playlists, albums, podcasts and radio stations from across your different music services.
  • Now Playing: The Now Playing screen features album art and basic playback controls. For a deeper look into the music you're listening to, the "Info View" screen gives you artist bios, album reviews and concert listings. See related artist suggestions to discover a new band for your queue. You can also add to your playlists, delete songs from your library, and share tracks to Twitter or Facebook.
  • Rooms: You can choose to play different songs in different rooms, choose to group all rooms together to hear the same music throughout your home, or choose to group only certain rooms together for music playback. You can also crank up the volume for each room individually or together.
  • Browse & Search: Browse your music services, favorites, internet radio, personal music library and playlists. You can browse your music content by Album, Artist, Song, or Playlist. You can even search across all of your music services and files simultaneously, so you can find the music you love instantly.
  • More: Provides personalized & custom settings for your Sonos system. Adjust and audio settings like bass, treble, balance, and loudness for each room location.
Note: The Sonos device, Apple iOS/Android device, Windows PC, and/or Mac computer must be connected to the same wireless network.

Alexa Compatible: Through a free network software update you'll be able to control your Sonos system through any Alexa-enabled device - including the Sonos One and Amazon Echo (all sold separately - See Accessories Tab). Using the Amazon Alexa device as you normally would; just say "Alexa" and the name of the Sonos room you want to play a particular music service through when instructing Alexa to play music. Play a song, skip forward and back through playlists, target one room or an existing group of rooms, and adjust volume - all using your voice.

  • Alexa supports Amazon Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn Radio, and SiriusXM music services (Spotify control is coming soon). When instructing Alexa to play a particular artist, the song will begin playing from your default music service, set in the Alexa app, unless you specify the service in your voice instruction.
  • For a complete list of Alexa voice commands you can use with Sonos, click here.
  • Any non-music related commands will still play over your Alexa device (weather, traffic, flash briefs, etc).

Notes: You will need to search and enable the Sonos skill from the Alexa app on your mobile device or computer. Your Sonos equipment and Amazon Alexa-enabled devices must be on the same wireless network.

Google Assistant: The Google Assistant will be supported by Sonos in 2018 through an over-the-network firmware update.

Home Network Requirements: To access Internet music services, Internet radio, and any digital music stored on your computer or Network-Attached Storage (NAS) device, your home network must meet the following requirements:

  • High-speed DSL/Cable modem, or fiber-to-the-home broadband connection for proper playback of Internet-based music services. If your Internet service provider only offers Satellite Internet access, you may experience playback issues due to fluctuation in download rates.
  • If your modem is not a modem/router combination and you want to take advantage of Sonos' automatic online updates, or stream music from an Internet-based music service, you must install a wireless router in your home network. If you don't have a wireless router, you will need to purchase and install one before setting up your system.
  • You will need the Sonos Controller application for Apple iOS 9.0+ and Android OS 4.3+, or the Sonos Controller software program for Windows PC 7-up and Mac OS x 10.10-up.
  • Connect at least one Sonos component to your home network router using an Ethernet cable, and then you can add other Sonos components wirelessly. Or setup your Sonos component wirelessly via WiFi without any hardwire connection.
  • For best results, you should connect the computer or NAS drive that contains your personal music library collection to your home network router using an Ethernet cable.
  • Make sure all of your Sonos components have the latest software update installed.
Note: Although Sonos is compatible with most networking equipment, some network devices are incompatible. Usually when networking hardware does not work with Sonos, it's because it lacks support for the network protocols that Sonos uses to operate, like UPnP, STP, and SMB/CIFS.

Automatic Updates: The Sonos PLAY:3 supports free automatic software updates so you will always have the newest features and music services to enjoy. Simply register the PLAY:3 and Sonos will automatically notify you when software updates are available through the Sonos Controller app. By simply pressing one button your system updates itself.

Speaker/Amp Section

3 Driver/3 Amp Speaker System: The Sonos PLAY:3 uses three state-of the-art digital amplifiers individually coupled with three speakers to deliver great sound to any room. The wireless music system provides pure, clean sound that is perfect for bringing room filling music to a kitchen, bedroom, office, or just about any room in your home. A bass radiator produces powerful low notes while, two mid-range drivers and one tweeter fills out the sound.

  • Class-D Amp: The PLAY:3 employs state of the art, great sounding amplifiers that are lightweight, powerful, and very energy efficient in standby and use.
  • Tweeter: One tweeter creates a crisp and accurate high frequency response.
  • 2 Midranges: Two dedicated mid-range drivers ensure the faithful reproduction of midrange frequencies crucial for accurate playback of vocals and instruments.
  • Bass Radiator: A bass radiator is tuned to use the energized air volume inside of PLAY:3 to provide deep, clean and surprisingly powerful bass from such a small package

DSP Circuitry: From the recording studio to your home, the music is reproduced as the artist intended. All filter settings, active equalization, and time-alignment are done in the digital domain through state-of-the-art DSP circuitry so there's absolutely no loss of audio quality or energy.

Tone Controls: Optimize sound performance using zone-specific bass, treble, balance, and loudness controls. Adjust volume by individual zone or by groups of zones.

Trueplay Tuning (for Apple iOS): The layout of a room, and where a speaker is placed, can have a significant impact on the sound that you hear. Trueplay, an auto-tune app within the Sonos App,  uses the microphone in your Apple iOS device to measure how sound reflects off walls, furnishings and other surfaces in a room, and then fine tunes the Sonos PLAY:3 speaker to make sure it sounds great no matter where you've placed it. The Sonos PLAY:3 speaker already sounds fantastic, but Trueplay brings you even closer to how music should sound. Completing Trueplay tuning for a room takes approximately 3 minutes from start to finish.

  • Compatibility: Trueplay is compatible with the Sonos PLAY:3, Play:5, and Play:1. In order to perform Trueplay tuning, the Sonos app for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 7 or higher is required. This includes iPhone 4s and higher, iPad 2 and higher, as well as iPod touch 5th generation and higher. Trueplay tuning is not available if the VoiceOver" feature is enabled on your Apple iOS device. Trueplay is currently not compatible with Android.
  • 1Ch/1.1ch & 2Ch/2.1Ch Tuning: Trueplay can be used with a single speaker setup, two speakers configured as a stereo pair, or either of these configurations with the Sonos Sub added.
Note: You will need to retune the Sonos speaker using TruePlay, if you move the speaker within the same room or to another room, change the orientation of speaker (horizontal vs. vertical), or change the configuration of the speaker setup (going from a single speaker to a stereo pair for example).

Stereo Pairing: The Stereo Pair setting allows you to group two PLAY:3s in the same room to create a wider stereo experience. In this configuration, one unit serves as the left channel and the other serves as the right channel. When creating a stereo pair, it is best to place the two Sonos components 8' to 10' away from each other, angled inward to form a triangle with your favorite listening position.

Surround Speakers: Two Sonos PLAY:3 Wireless Speakers can be used to create a wireless 5.1ch surround sound experience with the Sonos Playbar, Playbase, Beam and Sub 1. Now you don't have to run wires to a powered sub or rear speakers to enjoy true 5.1ch audio.

Mounting Options

Versatile Placement: You can place the Sonos PLAY:3 wherever you find the sound most enjoyable. Its compact size makes it easy to place the PLAY:3 on your desk, the kitchen counter, on your nightstand, or carry it out to the patio with you.

  • Horizontal/Vertical Mounting: Position the PLAY:3 in a horizontal or vertical orientation to make a perfect fit into tight spots around you home like on bookshelves, nightstands, corners, or just about anywhere else. The EQ automatically adjusts so the sound you hear is always great, not matter what orientation you use. For optimum performance, maintaining more than 1" clearance around the back of the unit is recommended. Integrated rubber feet protect your furniture and keep the PLAY:3 secure.
  • Wall-Mount (optional): The Sonos PLAY:3 has a 1/4"-20 integrated, threaded mounting hole. If desired, you can easily wall mount the PLAY:3 using a suitable mounting bracket (sold separately). Simply choose a location that's close to an electrical outlet, taking care to avoid heat, steam, dripping water or hidden wiring, and follow the instructions included with your wall mount kit.
Note: The Sonos PLAY:3 is not water-resistant; do not leave it outside during a rain storm or position it near water. Care should be taken if placing the Sonos PLAY:3 close to an older CRT television. If you notice any discoloration or distortion of your picture quality, simply move the PLAY:3 further from the television.

I already own several Sonos Play1 speakers and a Play5, and am very happy with all of them. I Purchased the Play3 for a medium-sized room, thinking it would be a better fit than a Play1. Heard good things. Not savy with technology though. We'll see.... [ T  Dec 02, 2016 ]
I was very happy with the Sonos Playbar and the Subwoofer so adding a Play:3 for my bedroom was an easy decision. The sound quality is amazing and exceeded my expectations for such a small speaker. I was looking for high fidelity in a compact size speaker at a reasonable value without sacrificing quality. I have owned my Play:3 for 2 years now and I look forward to turning it on every time I am in my room. You won't be disappointed and soon you'll want to expand to other rooms. My son wanted this for Christmas. [ Lisa  Dec 21, 2015 ]

Based upon research Sonos is the best choice for multi room audio. Real difference-maker is the fact that Sonos doesn't consume the same wireless bandwith that other devices like PC, Chromecase and Roku use. [ Duane  Dec 10, 2015 ]
I bought a third Play:3 for my garage...this system is hands down the best. Incredible sound and no need to run any wires. [ Michael  Dec 04, 2015 ]

The Play 3 does not have a built in battery and always has to be be plugged in for use. You always need an electric receptacle. [ Sandra  Jan 21, 2017 ]
Must have a power source(electrical Outlet). [ GARY J  Jan 09, 2017 ]
These always need to be plugged in - they do not run on batteries or have an option to charge and move around [ Brent  Jan 09, 2017 ]
The Sonos 3 needs constant 110-120v power, no internal battery backup - not portable. [ DAVID  Jan 09, 2017 ]
Hi Joe. Its runs off of electrical power at all times. However, the sound is superb for a Wi-Fi speaker. Hope this helps. [ DWAYNE  Jan 09, 2017 ]
They do not have rechargeable batteries so the speaker do have to be plugged in. [ John  Jan 08, 2017 ]
Don't know what a Lutron Pico remote is. [ Ronald  Sep 19, 2016 ]

I love the Sonos Play 3. It's sound is great. Can't comment on the Bose Wave Radio. Haven't heard it. [ MICHAEL  Dec 14, 2015 ]
I believe by far the Sonos, even the Sonos Play One will give the Bose a run for the money. The Sonos also gives you great growth oppertunity for a whole home solution. [ Bret  Dec 12, 2015 ]
Yes [ MICHAEL  Dec 14, 2015 ]
Yes - Sonos can access your iTunes library [ PAUL  Dec 03, 2014 ]
An iPod touch with wifi that can download the latest Sonos APP from the Apple Store would control this Sonos Speaker. [ DAVID W  Dec 03, 2014 ]
It works great with the iPod touch [ Andrew T  Dec 03, 2014 ]
Yes, via the Sonos app. [ JOSEPH  Dec 03, 2014 ]
First, Sonos is a great product. Sonos is controlled through an app. The iPod Touch has apps, while the other iPods do not have apps. Therefore, Sonos will work with the following Apple products: an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. [ JOHN  Dec 03, 2014 ]
Sonos is a wireless music system that connects to your home wireless network. In addition to the Sonos 3, you need a Sonos Bridge (~ $50, sometimes free) that connects to your wireless router. Once it is connected to your network, you can use your IPod as a remote control of the Sonos which can play all of the music that is on your IPod, IPhone, IPad, any computer on your network, etc. [ MICHAEL  Dec 03, 2014 ]
Hi Austin I am not 100% certain but i do believe that you would be able to it would be best to email sonos direct [ STEVE  Dec 01, 2013 ]
The Play 3 will play any sound that originates from your computer once you have it configured on your home wireless network. There is not a direct audio connection to the Play 3 from your computer, so the wireless network and Sonos bridge are required for playback. [ DAVID J  Dec 01, 2013 ]
I have not done this -- the files I am playing are muscic files in ITunes, and I think there is are some incomptabilities there with the format Audible uses. I googled "sonos file format Audible" and found two useful links, but this message program is not letting me include the links. One discusses the general problem and the other one offers instructions on how to do it. I have no idea if this is easy or even works, but probably there is some way to do it. Sorry, that's the best I can do, as I have not been using Sonos for this.I listen to Audible on my Iphone. [ LOUISE  Dec 01, 2013 ]
Exactly what I needed. Thanks, Joon. [ Austin B  Dec 01, 2013 ]
yes. you can hook audible to the sonos app. sonos play 3 doesn't have any input so the only way to hear is through the app. [ JOON YONG  Dec 01, 2013 ]
Thank you, sir. I'll definitely look further into it, but I think you're right. There shouldn't be a reason to purchase other hardware to make this happen. If there is I unfortunately will not be able to purchase this system. [ Austin B  Dec 01, 2013 ]
If your using an Apple controller you need one Sonos Play:5 speaker with its 3.5mm output jack on the back plugged into an Apple Express ($99). Then you can play on any Sonos speaker. On your source selection choose Line-In and your good to go. [ Andrew T  Dec 01, 2013 ]
I don't use Audible, but there is a connection available in the Sonos app to log into the Audible application which should allow streaming. [ MARTIN  Dec 01, 2013 ]
It is controlled by the app on your phone or computer. You turn the music on/off using the app. You would leave the play3 plugged in at all times so you can turn the music on from the app when you want to. [ Mike  Jan 16, 2018 ]
You don't want to unplug them, because you will have to wait for it to reconnect every time you want to use them. Unless you are playing them, they are in "off" mode. Now if you do not white light shining all the time you can turn the light off in the settings menu for that speaker. I had to do that with the 3 sonos in my bedroom, because they are quite bright. Hopefully this answered your question, I have 13 sonos speakers in all and love them. So glad I decided to go that route. I recommend them all the time to my friends. All it takes is someone coming over to my house and hearing them, and that just about does it for them. Good luck. [ Franklin  Jan 15, 2018 ]
it is possible to play T.V. sound with sonos with the use of the connect amp from sonos and the correct audio can play t.v. sound through the line in feature on the sonos app.. [ MARTY J.  Dec 18, 2017 ]
I do not think the speaker is weatherproof but once it is connected to the internet And your internet is within range of where you want to use the speaker, I don't see why you couldn't use it outside. Just don't leave it outside and let it get wet [ Gail  Apr 19, 2016 ]
In a word, No. They are not designed for outdoor usage. You can, on a temporary basis, use them if the weather is fine, For example you could plug one into an outdoor outlet and use it whilst having lunch/dinner outdoors. However, they will not tolerate being left outside in the cold or wet. Hope this helps. [ DAVID  Apr 19, 2016 ]
I don't think so. Mine is inside. I love it. [ MARY  Apr 18, 2016 ]
I use my Play:3s outside, but they are covered/protected by a covered patio and the eaves of our house. They are not exposed to direct rain. They work great, but I can't vouch for how well they'd hold up in direct weather. [ Derek  Apr 18, 2016 ]
Probably would be ok since you won't be exposing it to the elements. I do take mine outside on our back porch which is covered. [ Steve  Apr 16, 2016 ]
These speakers are not weather rated ( For outdoors). They appear to be able to take some humidity and some temperature extremes. Sorry can't tell you any more than that. [ Paul  Apr 16, 2016 ]
Seth I live just outside of Chicago and have had Play3 in my garage for over 2 years. My garage is not temperature controlled and the speaker works fine. Best regards Mark [ Mark  Apr 16, 2016 ]
This is a great product with great sound. I can't say I had given mine extended use out into heat / humidity but I take it out into my patio in Austin. As long as it isn't in direct sunlight/rain I can't imagine you wil have much trouble with it. Good luck. [ Louis  Apr 16, 2016 ]

White [ James  Dec 14, 2015 ]
You can play the same music on each one of the Play 3's, or you can play different music, or you can pair them and make them into a stereo system with a left and a right channel. The best advice is to buy the two of them and you will find out haw great they are. You will want to then buy so more. [ LAURA E  Apr 29, 2015 ]
Yes - you would name each one - room 1, room2 - and then set them up to play as mono.......I have one in my office and one in my living room - when w are having a prty, I bring the one from my office to the living room, mate it as a stereo pair with the one in the living room and we are good to go. After the party you can break them up again. Very easy to use and sound great [ KENNETH  Apr 02, 2015 ]
Hmmmm, I am not 100% sure I am clear on the question but here are some things you can do. You can take both play 3's and create a stero pair in one location. You can easily unpaid them and use them as individual units in separate rooms. I highly recommend all of the Sonos units (but I have not tried the play 1, sound at or sub). [ WINIFRED  Apr 02, 2015 ]
The Sonos set up enables you to define which speakers receive output from a given device. For example, if you have a total of four speakers (a pair in each of two rooms) you could send output from a device to all four speakers so that both rooms have the same music playing. Or you could have different music playing in each room if you have two music sources. [ JAMES  Apr 01, 2015 ]
Dont buy the sonos system , the app is not user friendly and often confusing, at the end of the day we spent over 1200$ on a 3 piece sonos system and still use our other home stereo with simple aux input. Even the aux input on sonos system requires settings change on sonos app. In theory sonos is a great idea but because of a poor user expirience i recommend against it. [ LISA  Apr 01, 2015 ]
I am unsure what you mean by connecting the speakers to the same device. The SONOS play 3 are wireless speakers and yes you can play the same or different music in multiple rooms. The app lets you choose what music plays where. With two of the same SONOS speakers you have the option of making them a stereo pair. [ Joseph  Apr 01, 2015 ]
Yes. Devices can connect to zone players (either amplified or not) via a 3.5mm audio cable or via the Sonos app on supported devices. Audio inputs or any of the streaming audio sources can be mapped to one or more speakers. You can also map a stereo audio source to two Play3 speakers for Right & Left stero sound. [ RICHARD  Apr 01, 2015 ]
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best speakers for your system I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences and help you make the best choice for your system and your budget. [ Krissy  Feb 04, 2014 ]  Staff
