About the Shure SRH840
Ready to record
Ready to record
Musicians and recording engineers rely on headphones in the studio to be the crucial link between their ears and their music. That's why they count on headphones like the Shure SRH840. Two key factors make them an excellent choice for recording. The first is their balanced, detailed sound, which offers extended high-frequency response, clear midrange, and rich, textured bass. The second is the over-the-ear, closed-back design. This ensures that your music stays in your ears and out of live microphones. It also helps keep external sound out of your monitor mix, so you can focus on only what you're supposed to be hearing, whether you're laying down a track or listening back during the mixdown process.
Studio tough
Headphones need more than just great sound and proper noise isolation to excel in the studio. They also need to be tough enough to withstand the rigors of long sessions. The SRH840 headphones are solidly constructed, yet comfortable enough to wear for hours. The softly padded headband and earcups make these headphones practically disappear on your ears, so you can concentrate on the music without the distraction of wanting to pull the headphones off your head after just a couple of takes. These headphones also include a pair of replacement earpads to help extend their shelf-life.
Finishing touches
When you're recording and mixing in the studio, you need a little room to maneuver. So the SRH840 headphones come with an extra-long coiled cable, offering freedom to move without tripping you up. The cable detaches from the left earcup, though only when you want it to thanks to the clever locking mechanism designed to prevent accidental disconnections. With both miniplug and 1/4" connectors, these headphones are great for mobile listening as well as recording. When it's time to call it a day, detach the cable, fold up the 'phones, stash them in the included carrying case, and throw them in your bag. Or plug them into your smartphone to listen to your favorite music and draw inspiration for your next session.

These headphones are great. Perfect for collapsing and throwing in my bag to and from my studio. Great frequency response for mixing and durable enough to use while recording.
