Our take on the Pet Acoustics Pet Tunes Canine by Crutchfield's Deia Z.
Soothing music for your dog
Pet Tunes is a small, portable Bluetooth speaker that comes pre-loaded with 90 minutes of original music composed just for dogs. The music is digitally modified so the frequency range stays within a dog's natural hearing comfort zone. Pet Tunes has been tested in animal hospitals, kennels, and homes, and has been shown to have a relaxing effect on most dogs within a few minutes.
Pet Tunes is compact, so you can bring it along with you if your dog gets stressed out in the car, or at the vet's. Your veterinarian will appreciate your dog being in a calm state when it's time for his exam as well.
Veterinarians weigh in
"Pet Acoustics music for dogs and cats has a significant calming effect on our hospitalized patients. We've found it has helped to reduce their anxiety while away from their families." — Dr. Laura Carey, Litchfield Veterinary Hospital
"We've had great results with Pet Tunes in our clinic. One dog, blind and diabetic, barked incessantly. With the music, he went to sleep instead, relaxed. The same applied to several cats with a history of being tough. They relaxed as well. " — Dr. Bob Beede, Intermountain Pet Hospital
We put it to the test
I've been using Pet Tunes with my already laid-back Pyrenees and she loves it. When she barks at random things in the yard, I put it on and the music quiets her almost instantly. It helped her get through the first big thunderstorm of the season, and it keeps her even more relaxed during her considerable downtime. I've seen Pet Tunes work its magic on smaller, less mellow dogs too. The music comes on, their breathing slows down, and they go into a state of deep relaxation. It seems to have the same effect on humans, too.
Pet Tunes is also available for cats.
