Wireless subwoofer kit for the Yamaha YSP-5600 sound bar
Our take on the Yamaha SWK-W16 by Crutchfield's Jeff Miller
Add bass — and freedom — to your YSP-5600 Digital Sound Projector
Here's an easy way to complement the already-epic sound of Yamaha YSP-5600 sound bar, with huge bass, without running a long cable across the room. The Yamaha SWK-W16 wireless adapter turns your wired sub of choice into a wireless one. The adapter connects to the LFE input on your powered subwoofer and communicates wirelessly with the YSP-5600. With a wireless range of up to 30 feet, you'll have more placement options for your sub.
The SWK-W16 must be plugged in an AC outlet for power. Be sure to plug both the kit and sub itself into a quality power protection device to protect your equipment from damaging surges.

Wireless Subwoofer Kit: The Yamaha SWK-W16 wireless subwoofer kit allows the wireless connection of any powered sub with an LFE or RCA input to Yamaha's YSP-5600 soundbar speaker (022YSP5600, sold separately) for boosting bass sound. You won't need to use any connecting wires between the YSP-5600 soundbar and your powered subwoofer.
Compatibility: The Yamaha SWK-W16 wireless subwoofer kit is designed specifically for Yamaha's YSP-5600 soundbar speaker (022YSP5600, sold separately). It allows wirelessly connectivity between the YSP-5600 soundbar and any powered sub with and LFE or RCA input.
Wireless & Wired Connectivity: The Yamaha SWK-W16 wireless subwoofer kit features a built-in 2.4GHz RF receiver which wirelessly receives the LFE audio signal from Yamaha's YSP-5600 soundbar speaker and sends the low frequency signal to your powered sub's LFE or RCA input via its mono-RCA output jack and included 9.75' mono-RCA cable. If your powered sub features a stereo RCA input, you will need a Y-adapter (sold separately).

I have not had any problems with network interference. My WiFi router (Apple AirPort Extreme, 3rd gen) sits in the entertainment console directly below my YSP-5600 Sounds bar, with the subwoofer/SWK-W16 across the room. It's typical for us to have someone connected to WiFi in another room while the sound bar is in use, and we have not had any problems. I have also streamed video from my laptop or phone to the Apple TV connected to the sound bar, with no problems. So my experience is there is no problem with the SWK-W16 causing interference on a 2.4GHz WiFi network. I know you didn't ask, but I am also very happy with the audio quality delivered to the subwoofer. As an audio/video-phile I've been skeptical about wireless delivery of audio content. I have not been disappointed in any way with this one. I hope this helps. [ Donald Apr 26, 2018 ]
I have both 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi network and the SWK-W16 has not caused any interference on either. [ WILLIAM Apr 26, 2018 ]
I was unsuccessful in using the wireless adapter and use the wired configuration which works seamlessly. [ George Apr 26, 2018 ]
Hello. Your Polk model DOES have RCA inputs, so you're good! My Cambridge Soundworks BassCube 85 has dual RCA's, one of which is designated "Mono", and that is the input I use with the Yamaha SWK-W16. Not sure what you mean by "lose any functionality...", however, you should '"lose" nothing with this wireless subwoofer kit. [ Tony May 15, 2017 ]
