Music Hall pa1.2
Phono preamplifier for moving magnet and moving coil cartridges
Our take on the Music Hall pa1.2 by Crutchfield's Dave Bar
Enjoy a huge sonic upgrade with your LPs
If you're plugging your turntable directly into the phono input of an integrated amp or receiver, did you know that you may be missing out on a lot of sonic goodness? That's because a lot manufacturers use low-cost, low-fi circuitry that leaves your music sounding dull and two-dimensional. The Music Hall pa1.2 phono preamplifier boosts and equalizes the tiny voltages coming from your 'table's phono cartridge to deliver a robust, line-level signal infused with rich, dynamic sound.
You'll experience the thunderous impact of a timpani as the mallets strike home, and thrill to the shimmering reverberation of strings and cymbals as they echo off the concert hall walls. Your music will shine with new levels of energy.
The Music Hall difference
The pa1.2 features virtually ruler-flat response, extremely low distortion, and very low noise. Its handsome extruded aluminum chassis shields against electromagnetic interference for quiet operation. Plus, its inputs are compatible with either moving magnet or moving coil cartridges, to ensure easy plug-and-play hookup with virtually any turntable and cartridge combination.
