Product Research

Overview: The Sennheiser HD 65 TV over-the-ear headphones were designed with TV viewing in mind. A 17' extension cable is included to connect to a TV, or other device with a headphone output. On the output end of the extension cable (the end nearest the headphones) is an in-line volume control with separate sliders for left and right channel volume. The volume control housing also has a clip (designed like a belt clip) to keep it in place.

Comfortable Fit: The HD 65 TV uses soft, leatherette ear cushions and a padded headband for a comfortable fit.

Over-the-Ear Design: A closed, over-the-ear design helps block out ambient noise, allowing you to listen at a safer level.

Neodymium Magnets: The Sennheiser HD 65 TV utilizes powerful neodymium magnets for excellent speech intelligibility and powerful sound reproduction.

Connectivity: The cable attached to the headphones is terminated with a 3.5mm (1/8") mini-plug. The extension cable also has 3.5mm jacks (male on the input end, female on the output end). A 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter is included, for use with or without the extension cable.

Why did you buy this?

I live in a apt. with no insulation old. Women next door keeps complaining about the tv volume. I am deaf to a degree so this looks like it will fill the bill so I can hear my programs with out the person next door being a pest. Alan L. Dehn [ Alan L.  Oct 07, 2018 ]
Works very well I have one of it. I just want to have a stand by. I'm hard of hearing [ joe  Mar 25, 2018 ]
great price point [ Bruce  Dec 13, 2017 ]
volume control, I am hard of hearing in both ears but at different levels. [ Leah  Oct 09, 2017 ]
It help me to choose this ITEM, your presentation on the video and the positive comments of other people. [ Rafael  Jul 30, 2017 ]
volume control is best used so far [ Michael  May 29, 2017 ]
Chosen because of long cord and ability to adjust each side independently. [ Robert  Apr 12, 2017 ]
independent volume control for each ear [ Lincoln  Jan 06, 2017 ]
My wireless worked great for quite a while but it just quit. I will try it with a wire as I believe the problem is the transmitter because the voltage cube stays cold. [ Paul K.  Jan 05, 2017 ]
I especially wanted the dual volume control. I also trust the Sennheiser brand. I've had good luck with Sennheiser products in the past. [ Christina  Dec 15, 2016 ]
Good reviews & only one with volume control. [ Victor  Nov 11, 2016 ]
It was what I wanted with the long 17 ft. cord. [ GEORGE  Sep 06, 2016 ]
Quality [ kenny  Jan 09, 2016 ]
I have a hearing problem I use the Sennheiser wireless TV Transmitter with headphones however the wireless transmitter allows only changing of the balance not the volume in each ear I wanted to see if I could = the volume in my ears as opposed to having the volume in one ear very loud just so I can hear a little in the other ear. My hearing aides = the volume when I am using them to listen however I do not use them with headphones Arthur [ ARTHUR  Dec 30, 2015 ]
The description matched my requirements. Price was in my allotted budget. This completed the system I purchased from Crutchfield's. A purchase I made from Crutchfield's about 8 years ago has been passed down through three cars and is still working great. So I figured that if Crutchfield's carried these, they must be good. [ Fred  Dec 08, 2015 ]
Highly Recommended by a Friend. [ Karen  Dec 06, 2015 ]

I use mine plugged into my amp, with the speaker turned off, to practice my pedal steel guitar. The sound reproduction is fine. I'm sure you can get higher quality studio type headphones but these work well and the independent volume adjustment is nice. [ Lincoln  Apr 07, 2018 ]
I use it only for TV listening, however I do not see why they should not work for your application. You have control over the volume with the two slide buttons. What I do not like on them is the fact that the volume control connects to the headphones. The weight of the control is sometimes enough to make it disconnect. [ peter  Apr 07, 2018 ]
Its a good set. I like it.Can hear real good for tv.I don't know if it will work for piano ask the seller [ joe  Apr 07, 2018 ]
yes [ joe  Apr 07, 2018 ]
Yes. It has a left right slider to control each individually. You can, of course, still use you're tv remote for the overall volume. [ Darlene  Feb 09, 2014 ]
Yes, there are seperate volume controls for each.side, so you can have a different volume level for the right side versus left or vice versa, or even turn one side off or have both sides on the same level. [ JEREMIAH C  Feb 09, 2014 ]
I bought HD 65 TV for my Dad. He is very hard hearing and I had hoped they would make his tv watching more enjoyable. To answer your question; they are a good headset and the volume can be individually controlled and even shut off to either side. The drawback I found is that the amplifier on the tv set is not sufficient to drive them loud enough for my Dad's hearing. The cord is sufficiently long and the sound is good. I blame the volume (or rather the lack thereof) on the puny amp in todays flat screen sets. Hope you find this helpful. [ LARRY C.  Feb 09, 2014 ]
Yes. The control has "left" & "right" slider switches that can be moved independently from no volume to max volume. [ LARRY  Feb 09, 2014 ]
All you could want in a headset.Much better than wireless [ GORDON  Feb 08, 2014 ]
The headphones do not have a mute setting, but you can adjust the volume low enough so that it is impossible to hear the sound coming from the headphones if you don't have them on your head. [ RONNIE R  Feb 08, 2014 ]
I believe you can listen to only one side. But I think the idea is to give you some flexability that would not be available in a standard set. This allows you to adjust each side so you have even volume on both channels. This may come into play depending on our own hearing, what source we are listening to etc.Hope this helps. My experience with these phones was not good [ GARY  Feb 08, 2014 ]
I have these connected to my Sony TV. So the range is limited to that output. You would get more range if you were connected to a A/V receiver. The volume is plenty loud for me. Also you can completely turn off one side of the headphone. The volume slider has a right/left or together function. [ GARY  Feb 08, 2014 ]
