Wanted to make sure Android Auto and apple car play worked properly. I have a USB 3.0 Connector and it is having difficulty connecting with android auto.. Kenwood stated in the description of the stereo I ordered if these connectors weren't used, the apps might not work properly. [ Albert Nov 29, 2017 ]

I'm trying this because the 3rd party extension cable that my installer used will not recognize my 6th gen iPod Touch. I'm hoping this one does the trick. [ MelissaGT Apr 27, 2017 ]

Also, note that only one of the cables is an extension cable for mounting, so you'd have to get an additional cable, I believe. The other is a phone cable, and doesn't work with the bracket. [ Camden Jun 04, 2017 ]
Each of the brackets can only support one port, so if you want to mount both, you'll have to mount them in different places/ways. (one bracket is front-mount, the other is top-mount) [ Camden Jun 04, 2017 ]
What do you mean by " both ports"? The item I have has only a SUB port. [ Roger Jun 04, 2017 ]
There are two mounts one for implanting the device and one for surface mounting. Even though the cables supplied can handle micro and regular usb, the mounts are only designed for regular usb connections not micro usb. Hope it helps. [ Keith Jun 03, 2017 ]
Only one. [ Nicholas Jun 03, 2017 ]
Only one port of the two included...you have to select which one you want. [ Eric Jun 03, 2017 ]
Be sure to test the USB connection for data and power before you mount anything. [ Roger Jun 04, 2017 ]
Carl, I did buy one of these but found I had already installed a USB cable into my glove box when I originally installed the unit. It had been about a year and I forgot I put it in. That being said I see no reason why this cable wouldn't work. The extra length and the flush mount ports are a really nice feature. I only use mine for updating the GPS. I also have a direct plug-in cable for my iPod but I believe you can connect anything that use USB connectivity through this cable. Kenwood themselves may be of more assistance on this matter. Any USB extension cable will fit, you just won't have the mount kit [ Simon Aug 11, 2015 ]
