Antistatic Coating: The Hoya EVO antistatic filters feature a coating that repels dust. This allows you to work in areas where dust is common without having to frequently stop and clean the filter. The filter has a hardened antistatic top layer that is water-repellant, stain and scratch resistant, and is easy to clean.
Ultra-violet (UV) Filters: Ultra-violet filters UV(0) filter out unwanted ultra-violet rays before they reach the image sensor, reducing haze and increasing clarity.
Materials: The EVO antistatic filters feature high performance, professional-grade optical glass with a 16-layer Super Multi-coating formula to eliminate reflections and delivers a 99.8% light transmission rate. This means the filter has virtually no effect on the color balance, contrast, or clarity of the image. The lightweight, one-piece aluminum frame allows the filter to maintain perfect parallel alignment to the image sensor for maximum sharpness. The frame is very low-profile to eliminate vignetting when used on ultra-wide-angle lenses.

I always use high-grade protective filters for my lenses (after a bad experience!); it just doesn't make sense, however, to spend top dollar on top-quality lenses & then degrade them w/ cheap filters. Plus, these are made in Japan, are multi-coated, & I believe they're among the finest available that I can afford. [ WILLIAM Mar 16, 2016 ]

It doesn't make sense to spend good money on superb lenses, only to risk using cheap filters to save a few bucks which in turn could degrade their quality optics... [ WILLIAM May 01, 2018 ]

Very nice filter. Purchase this filter a second time/same model after dropping my lens. Never had to clean the filter of dust. Anti-static properties work as described. Not to mention no degradation to image quality. [ Stanley Aug 21, 2017 ]
