About the Kicker 43DSC6504

Alexander H.

The Kicker fit

Kicker's DS Series 43DSC6504 6-1/2" speakers make a great replacement for the worn-out factory speakers in your vehicle. In addition to providing excellent sound, these Kickers incorporate a zero-protrusion tweeter into a low-profile speaker that'll fit in more vehicles than ever.

Reliable, powerful sound

These 6-1/2" speakers will give you the kind of clarity you've never had with your factory speakers. The 2-way design recreates a dynamic sound, dedicating the highs to the PEI balanced dome tweeter while sending the lower frequencies to the 6-1/2" polypropylene woofer. They'll conjure hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios, so you can confidently pump your jams for years to come.

Highlights:

  • 2-way car speakers (pair)
  • 6-1/2" polypropylene woofer with ribbed polyester foam surround
  • 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter
  • power range: handles up to 60 watts RMS (240 watts peak power)
  • frequency range: 40-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 90 dB
  • top-mount depth: 1-13/16"
  • impedance: 4 ohms
  • grilles included
  • warranty: 2 years
  • MFR # 43DSC6504

What's in the box:

  • Two 2-way speakers
  • 2 Grilles
  • Two 11" lengths of speaker wire (tinned wire on one end and female quick slides on the other)
  • 4 Red plastic butt connectors
  • Eight 1-1/8" Self-tapping screws
  • Owner's manual (English/ Spanish/ German/ French)

Features

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker DS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for their rigidity and light weight. Polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Ribbed Polyester Foam Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.

Balanced-Dome Tweeters: The 1/2" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide, polymer film) balanced-dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with quick, detailed and spatially-correct imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone; balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

Mounting: The speaker baskets have multiple mounting holes and are designed to fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2" applications and Ford's 4-hole 6-1/2" applications. They will also fit many 6-3/4" applications, but a speaker baffle should be used to seal the inner ring of screw holes.

Q
Will these work with factory 2 ohm amp in a premium sound system in 2007 tundra?
shawn  Feb 29, 2024
1 answer
A
So these Kickers would not sound very good in your 2-ohm system. The Kickers are a 4-ohm speaker and any time you put those into a 2-ohm system you lose about 20-25% of the max volume of your system due to the higher resistance between the speaker and amp. We have advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 that can help recommend the best speaker for your truck.

Q
Hi - For a 2020 Hyundai Elantra - I notice these have built in tweeter. Would it make more sense to buy these with the built in tweeter and not replace the factory tweeters in the door? It would be easier but I am looking for opinions on the best option. Thanks.
patrick  Oct 27, 2023
1 answer
A
This depends on your main goals, Pat. For the easiest install if you are tackling the job yourself, replacing your lower door speakers with the Kicker 43DSC6504 and leaving the tweeter factory is a great option. If you are willing to tackle more work on install by custom mounting the crossover box, running a manual wire to the tweeter location, and custom mounting the Kicker tweeter in your original factory location you can consider the Kicker 46CSS654 components in the first link below for a better sonic upgrade. These are a great option if you do not have the Infinity premium audio system, if you do have the Infinity system any 4-ohm speaker will play at a lower volume than your original speakers. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646CS654/Kicker-46CSS654.html

Q
Do these fit a 2000 crv without any modification?
courtney  Dec 06, 2022
1 answer
A
Greetings Courtney, and thank you for your question. The factory speakers in the 2000 CRV mount with 3 screws, the aftermarket speakers need 4 screws. The Kickers will fit, but you will need to re-drill new screw holes.

Do these fit an s2000 without any modification? I.E. cutting or drilling?

Greetings Garrick, and thank you for your question. I would need the year of the S2000 before I could answer the question. Reply to this, or call and speak to an advisor at 800-324-9695.

Q
My car came with a stock amplifier does the crutchfield system know that when I put me car in and when does the sale on this run out?
mitchelldeer  Jul 19, 2022
1 answer
A
Our system asks questions regarding your vehicle to help determine which audio system would have been included from the factory. We take factory amplifiers into consideration when creating the questions for a specific vehicle. For more help, please give our advisors a call at 1-800-324-9695. We do not currently have an end-date for the sale on these speakers. We can only guarantee the price for the day that the sale is listed.
zachary  Jul 19, 2022 (Staff)
Q
My car came with a factory amp is that fine?
mitchelldeer  Jul 18, 2022
1 answer
A
In most cases this is perfectly fine, however there are vehicles that have caveats. You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Q
Will it work good if I have a fm transmitter with a bass boost button or will it blow the speakers?
mitchelldeer  Jul 16, 2022
1 answer
A
As long as you don't power these with more than the 60 watt RMS rating, you should be fine Mitchell. What CAN blow the speakers regardless of power is distortion, so be careful there! Whenever you are cranking it up and you start to hear it, make sure and back off the bass boost button a touch. Distortion can be the cause of a blown speaker, no matter what the power that goes to it! That being said, these Kickers are one of my personal favorites for upgrades on either radio power (25 watts or less) or small amps up to the 50 watt RMS mark. These particular speakers do have really good bass response for the size, and should sound great it your setup Mitchell!

Q
How much bass do these put out if they are ran off a stock system?
cameron  May 23, 2018
2 answers
A
I have these in a 4 door ram on the stock head unit and they are a good upgrade over the stock components but your not going to get good bass response out of such a small speaker. Its designed to play more mids and highs. Factory decks are notoriously underpowered for most aftermarket speakers to work to their potential. You may want to consider a new headunit or adding a small multi channel amp to run the factory speakers and a small sub of your looking for more bass.
matthew  May 29, 2018
A
Very good but you will need a amp to get the realy good sound out the speakers

Q
Are they 2 ohm ? and I have 2001 Dakota cub cab , it has a infinity stereo what do you recommend for this better truck?
dennis  Jun 14, 2017
2 answers
A
The information Robert provided in the answer above is pretty much spot-on! The Kicker 43DSC6504 are 4-ohm; and while nearly any aftermarket speaker will sound better than the stock speakers in your truck, the "best" one for you can vary depending on your personal tastes/listening preferences. If you would like to discuss further, please feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat--they can help determine if these Kicker's are right for you, and if not, recommend an alternative for you to consider. Thanks!
david  Jun 18, 2017 (Staff)
A
No, they are 4 Ohm. I can't say what will sound good for you or in your vehicle, as we all have different sound preferences, but any aftermarket speakers will sound better than factory unless you have a newer vehicle. I chose these because the power handling was lower than others. you don't want super high watts without using an amplifier.

I've been shopping around just trying to replace stock speakers. These appear to be a great option. Any thoughts on performance running completely in a stock system? I don't want to mess around with installing an amp. This is for my wife's SUV

You probably need 400 watts amplifier that'll blast pretty good and little bass depends on your watts above the 400 watts of amplifier will work
silent #2  Jul 10, 2022
