Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H4
Wireless Bluetooth® over-ear headphones (Black)
Our take on the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H4 by Crutchfield's Jeff Miller
The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H4 have a clean, symmetrical design that's pleasing to both the eye and touch.
High-fashion, feel-good headphones
Style and comfort don't always go hand in hand — think of the last time you tried on jeans or shoes. So it is pretty remarkable that Bang & Olufsen's Beoplay H4 wireless headphones are among the best-looking and perhaps the most comfortable over-ears I've ever tried.
A sturdy, elegant design
The H4s have a sturdy frame and earcup sliders made of aluminum. Their plush earpads are lined with soft leather. These headphones felt light in my hands, and I could almost forget I was wearing them after a while.
Bluetooth headphones in general are pretty liberating — you can listen without connecting a cord to your phone. But these easy-going headphones were extra pleasant because of their super-comfortable fit. In the morning, I could throw them on, turn on a podcast, and move around freely to make coffee or breakfast.
Smooth, detailed sound
Of course you can only enjoy headphones if they sound good, too. B&O's sound signature is a good match for the relaxed fit of the Beoplay H4s. You don't get the extreme, bass-heavy sound you might expect from some modern headphones. Instead, you get a smooth, midrange-focused sound profile with detailed highs.
I found the on-ear controls very easy to use.
My listening impressions
I started my work day with a J-Dilla mixtape of instrumental, jazz-infused hip-hop. I followed it up with the Isley Brothers' Givin' it Back album, then sampled the new Japandroids rock album Near to the Wild Heart of Life. The headphones remained even-keeled, letting the different music styles dictate the mood. I honestly lost track of time before I realized it was lunchtime. When I pulled them off, there was no sense of strain or fatigue on my ears — a testament to the both the satisfying sound and well-padded fit.
On-ear controls that you can figure out quickly
Three tactile buttons on the right earcup control music, calls, and voice commands (like Siri® or Google Now). Sometimes I fumble with on-ear controls like these, but B&O included a clever design touch. There's a raised bump on the center button, so you can quickly locate the correct button without having look at it.

My previous answer of "No" was INCORRECT. The CORRECT answer is "YES, IF YOU PURCHASE THE WIRES TO CONNECT THEM FOR USE WITH TV OR ANYTHING MORE THAN APPROXIMATELY 3 FEET AWAY. I apologize for the previous incorrect reply. [ BILL Jan 10, 2018 ]
If you mean wired capability, then yes they do. But I suggest buying your own cable/wire because the one that comes with these is extremely short. But I gotta say these are great headphones. They sound great, the bluetooth works flawlessly, & they are so comfortable and fit wonderfully. Some of the best fitting headphones I've worn. [ TERRY Jan 08, 2018 ]

Yes, they do. They come with an optional wired cord that you can use, or you can use the bluetooth option that they are equipped with. [ Nathan Jan 03, 2018 ]
hi John.... I have an iPhone 6 and the Bluetooth connection is solid, consistent and trouble free. I would assume that the iPhone 6s+ Bluetooth connection would be very similar, but my experience with the iPhone 6 is my only reference. Good luck, Kevin [ Kevin Apr 27, 2017 ]
i own the iPhone 6s, connectivity has been error free including my iPad. I see no reason there should be connectivity issues with the 6s+, great headphones. [ John Apr 27, 2017 ]
