Travel without trepidation with this handy TomTom
TomTom knows that travel to unfamiliar areas can be stressful, so they've tried to ease the burden with their GO 52 portable navigator. It offers road maps and door-to-door guidance across North America, which you can see easily on its 5" display. Free traffic and map updates keep you current as long as you own the navigator. It includes Wi-Fi® connectivity for wireless upgrades, and built-in Bluetooth® allows for hands-free calling and access to Siri® and Google Now™ voice assistants. It'll even read your incoming texts to you aloud, so you can keep your mind on the next maneuver instead of your phone.
See the path ahead on an eye-pleasing 5" display
The GO 52's capacitive 5" touchscreen display works like your smartphone or tablet — simply pinch-to-zoom to get a better view of the maps, or swipe to go to the next menu. And the maps will cover you in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. And in select locations, you'll get a realistic 3D view of buildings and other landmarks to help get your bearings. Looking for a place to fuel up or get cash? You'll have access to millions of points of interest. TomTom's advanced lane guidance gets you in the right lane for your next turn, so you won't miss anything at the last second.
Wi-Fi for easy wireless updates
Map updates are great for keeping you current, but it can be a drag to dig up the correct cable, connect the navigator to a computer, and go through all the steps of downloading and transferring the data. The GO 52's built-in Wi-Fi means you can download map updates directly to the navigator without any wires or waiting.
Bluetooth for hands-free control
The navigator's built-in Bluetooth connectivity lets you do more than just make and receive calls without using your hands. It also provides access to your phone's Siri and Google Now voice assistants, so you can do quick lookups and initiate functions with your voice.
Your voice gets stuff done
This TomTom also gives you the option of engaging voice commands for navigation — simply wake the device up by saying "Hello TomTom" or "Hey TomTom." You can use it to search for a nearby point of interest or enter a street address for a destination.
Hear your incoming texts read out loud
The GO 52's also equipped to read aloud your incoming texts while you keep your eyes on the road, so you won't miss any important messages.
Hit the road prepared with TomTom MyDrive services
TomTom's MyDrive platform helps you keep the information flowing smoothly to your GO 52. You can download the MyDrive app to your smartphone, or set up an account online via TomTom's website. Once your account is active, you'll be able to send destinations and points of interest from your computer or smartphone directly to your navigator, saving you from having to look them up when you're in your car.
Be aware of congestion in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico
You can access TomTom's traffic reports using MyDrive on your computer, tablet, or smartphone, so you can see how bad traffic is along your route before you even start your trip. To get traffic updates on your GO 52, simply download the MyDrive app to your smartphone (iPhone® and Android™ only), then pair your phone to the navigator using Bluetooth. You'll have rapid updates — including predictive traffic based on historic patterns — right on your navigator's screen. And you won't have to pay anything extra for these reports, although data charges may apply, depending on your phone carrier.
Free map updates for life
You can keep your maps of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico updated through TomTom for as long as you own the GO 52. You can also keep up-to-date with road changes through Map Share, a feature which gives you dynamic updates like new speed limits, blocked roads, and recent detours. And if you register these changes on your device as you come across them, you can share them with other TomTom users across the country.
Traffic camera alerts
Your TomTom GO 52 purchase gives you free lifetime access to TomTom's camera alert system, available through the MyDrive app. You'll get warnings when you approach fixed and mobile speed camera locations and known hotspots, plus red light cameras and speed enforcement areas. The warnings appear on the map screen and the navigator delivers an audible alert as well. You can even mark new cameras and hotspots along your route and share them with other TomTom users.

Features
Overview: The TomTom GO 52 is a portable navigation device with a 5" capacitive-touch screen. It contains preloaded maps of the United States, Canada, and Mexico on its built-in 16 GB memory. The GO 52 can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth and receive real-time traffic, and lifetime map updates. It can also connect via Wi-Fi to receive map and software updates without a computer. The GO 52 has advanced navigation features such as 3D maps, advanced lane guidance, and voice control.
Easy Reversible Mount: The GO 52 comes with the Easy Reversible mount which includes an integrated suction cup for installing the unit in your vehicle. You can mount the unit on the windshield (using the suction cup), or flip it over and mount it on the dash (using the supplied adhesive disk). The Easy Reversible Mount can be mounted in either direction on the back of the unit to accommodate a dash or windshield mount. The suction cup is on a ball-and-socket swivel to let you aim the screen for best visibility.
Lifetime Map Updates: With the Lifetime Map Updates subscription, you can download up to four map data updates per year from the TomTom website. These map updates apply to maps of the USA, Canada, and Mexico. If a newer map update is available when you purchase the unit, you can download one complimentary update within 30 days from the time of first use. You must first register your device and create a TomTom account.
5" Capacitive-touch LCD: The GO 52 features a large 5" widescreen capacitive-touch LCD screen with a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels. The screen responds similarly to today's smartphones and tablets, allowing you to pinch to zoom in or out, and swipe to move map around.
Rechargeable Battery: The unit has an internal Lithium-ion battery. A fully charged battery offers approximately 1 hour of autonomous operation when not plugged into the vehicle's power source. The GO 52 comes with a car charger and a 5' USB power cord. The power cord can be removed and the car charger's USB port can be used to power other electronic devices (Output is 5V DC/1.2A).
TomTom MyDrive: TomTom MyDrive is a smartphone app that works with your GO 52 to give you the most up-to-date information about traffic along your route. Not only do you receive up-to-the-minute traffic reports as you travel, you can check the traffic along your route. This lets you plan ahead of time which route you're going to take. MyDrive lets you set your destination on your smartphone or tablet, and send it to your GO 52 before you get in the car. You can save your favorite destinations and access them by tapping them on the map. As you drive, you can enjoy hand-free calling, access to Siri or other voice assistants, or listening to your text messages through the device. TomTom MyDrive is compatible with iPhone/iPad running iOS 8.0 or later, and with Android devices with OS 3.0 and up.
Voice Control: TomTom's Voice Control technology lets you speak commands and destination addresses instead of selecting items on the screen. This lets you keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. You will need to set up a "wake-up" phrase to start Voice Control, then speak the commands you want the GO 52 to perform. You can use Voice Control for navigation and routing, and to change settings on the device. In many cases, the GO 52 will recognize different words that all mean the same thing, such as "OK," "Correct," or "Right" instead of "Yes."
Routing Technology: The GO 52 calculates your routes based on the real average speed measured on roads rather than the posted speed limits. Intelligent routing takes into account the time of day you're traveling a road, and how rush hour traffic, pedestrian traffic, and traffic light changes can affect actual traffic speed. You will get a more accurate ETA and the fastest recommended route based on real world data.
Advanced Lane Guidance: When navigating difficult intersections, the GO 52 uses realistic images and arrows to indicate which lane to take to best negotiate the turns.
Points Of Interest: The GO 52 gives you access to millions of pre-loaded Points of Interest (POIs) including gas stations, parking, restaurants, cash machines, and lots more. The POIs are indicated by icons, and in some cases, logos of the business. You can select which POI categories you want to display.
Favorite Locations: The Favorite menu allows you to store into memory those locations that you visit frequently. You can choose a favorite location the same way you choose a destination. The following menu options are available; Home, Address, Recent Destination, Point Of Interest, Point On Map, GPS Position (allows you to store your current location quickly), latitude and longitude, and the location where your TomTom was last used.
