I have limited space in my cabinet to work with and have to replace my receiver. I purchased an Onkyo TX-NR6100 and just want to confirm I could use these plugs in the new receiver? I think it would be easier than trying to thread the surround sound speakers on the posts.

Crutchfield Banana Plugs: The Crutchfield banana plug connectors provide an easy and secure connection between your 16 or 14 gauge speaker wire and your loudspeakers, receiver, or amplifier. Set-screws secure your speaker wire to the banana plug connector (strip your speaker wire 0.5"). Each Crutchfield banana plug connector features a gold-plated single-banana jack which easily plugs into the binding post terminals of your loudspeakers, receiver, or amplifier. The barrel of each connector has a red or black "Crutchfield" logo to identify positive and negative.

Connector Diameter: 0.215"
Barrel Diameter: 0.425"
Overall Length: 1.805"

Note: Available in a 2, 10, or 20 pack.

Installation Instructions: Twist the banana plug connector clockwise to loosen the connector from the barrel. Slide the connector down through the barrel until it comes out and then loosen the set-screws. Strip your 16 or 14 gauge speaker back 0.5" and insert it up through the hollow end of the banana connector. Tighten the set-screws onto the inserted speaker wire and slide the banana connector back through barrel. Twist the banana connector counter-clockwise to tighten the assembly and plug the banana connector into the binding-post terminal of your speakers, receiver, or amplifier.

Banana Connectors Item # 007B20PK, Does each banana plug use two (2) set- screws or one (1)? Current picture/image only shows one (1) set screw. Please confirm how many set screws attach each plug/connector. I'd tend to believe using two (2) set screws is best and would offer assurance and increased protection from a poor or loose connections. Loose connections could possibly damage equipment. Thank you

There are two set screws per plug. One close to the Banana connector and the other closer to the open end in which the wire is inserted.

What is the metal that the banana plugs are made of? It states that they are gold-plated, but is the core metal copper, brass or something else?

This is not listed in the specs for the Crutchfield Banana Connectors, Dale. These are an excellent option for good-quality sound and easy connection, and I use them in my own setups. Will these fit two 14 gauge wires? I'm planning to run a couple side speakers off of each other. Can I twist two 14 gauge wires together and still fit them in these clips? Thanks!

These are designed to hold one wire per connector. I do not expect that you will be able to twist two 14 gauge wires together and insert it. Connectors that support 12 or 10 gauge wires should have enough room to take 2 14 gauge wires.

These are the best there is a screw on each side of the inside part of the connector /plug. (Plug is 2 pieces)...(There is a jacket that you see (outside part of the plug) that pops over the inside.....after you put about an inch of bare wire into the inside part of this plug.... There is a mini screwdriver included to loosen and tighten the bare wire once you insert the wire into the inside portion of the plug. It's easy....
