Perfect for installing a small amp or high powered head unit

I bought the Sony XAV-AX7000 which is a high power head unit. So it required a connection to the battery and a connection to a chassis ground. The lengths of each were more than sufficient, the radio is getting the power it needs and the connections are solid. You could probably do this yourself, but why when this is so convenient and of a decent quality?

I didn't want to have to run power from the battery into the car, but I only had a 10 amp power connection for the sound system and needed a 15 amp power source. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I ran the wire through a large rubber grommet on the firewall and across the floor under the carpet to the center console, then up to the amplifier. I have a micro amp that sits nicely behind the head unit in the dashboard. This wiring kit had everything I needed, except a few extra cable ties, to wire everything as required.
Pros: The process was a lot easier than I expected it to be.
Cons: Needed more cable ties for all the extra wires left over from the head unit outside the speaker to amp connections.

Convenience and quality
Used this to run positive and ground for an Alpine KTA-450 amp. It's not a monster amp and I don't believe heavier gauge would make a difference. In this instance installation was straightforward to run; I found a nipple in the passenger-side firewall wire grommet and used that to run the positive cable to the battery (passing behind the glove box), and I found a dedicated factory ground point inside the dash cavity so my ground run was only 7 inches. I used wire disconnects instead of the supplied crimp connectors just to give myself a little flexibility in the future, but I appreciate that the kit does include everything necessary for a basic installation. The wire loom was exactly the length I needed - no more no less - without cutting. The cable is flexible and easy to route. I did use a little silicone lubricant on the tip to when passing power cable through the grommet nipple - I cut as little off of the nipple as possible in order to keep it snug. Worked great. I'm sure I'll use a CKxx kit again next time I install a car audio system.

Perfect complement to those small Class D amps like the Alpine power packs. That's what I used this on and I loved it. Has everytihng you need and then some. High quality and extra fuses. Let's face it, even if those power packs say you can "get away" with wiring them to the stock wiring, do you really want to spend a couple hundred bucks on a decent baby amp and cripple the power supply with spaghetti power wire? No you don't! Just get the right power and spent a bit more time routing it. Well worth it.

It works well - everything is supplied and I was able to easily wire this up to a D-class amp powered Sony Head Unit to run directly off the battery instead of the factory harness for more consistent power delivery. There's enough wire to run this the entire length of the car (and then some!). The extra fuses and connectors were a nice touch along with the wire loom. I didn't end up using the ground cable but it will be a wonderful spare wire for future projects. Quality insulation and OFC wire!

Overall really high quality and you can tell Crutchfield does as much to make the install as easy as possible. The one thing that bugs me is every time I buy an amp wiring kit from them the preinstalled connector for the battery is too small for the battery terminal plug to fit through. It's a pretty standard terminal plug diameter for about every car battery and yet I always have to drill out the hole bigger which is a pain.

Ring Terminals are Large!
Good kit, but folks with small to midsized import vehicles beware. The ring terminals are HUGE, and for a bolt of much larger diameter than what may be on your battery. Be prepared to possibly have to replace it with smaller one on your vehicle. Original in foreground, correct size connected at battery in photo.

I needed an amplifier wiring kit for my Infinity Baselink mini and the Crutchfield CK12 was just what I needed. It was the correct gauge wire and had a built in inline fuse holder and the length of the wire was more than long enough. And to top it off, it had ring terminals for hookup to your battery. In my opinion, the perfect addition to the baselink.

Great kit. Good ring terminals, Generous zip ties, spare fuses and a nice watertight fuse holder for the engine compartment. The 12 ga is easier to run through tight openings than 10 ga. AND 100% copper wire - not the Copper Clad Aluminum wire that everyone else seems to be selling these days! Good job Crutchfield.

Cons: The soft finish of the wire insulation, though nice to touch, was not slippery enough for me to run through my fire wall. Other kits I've used have the standard smooth finish, and this was never an issue. SOLVED by rubbing wax onto the entire length of the wire to be passed through the firewall.

This overall is a really good wiring kit. The wire is high quality and the ring terminals/fuse holder already being installed on the wire is nice too. I would've given this 5 stars if the wire loom was the braided type (instead of the typical plastic which degrades and falls apart) and if it came with a length of remote wire, which you'll likely need if you're hooking up an amp.

Good enough. Purchased this with an amp. Still had to find a remote turn on wire and RCA cable. The kit is good. Just not complete. A slight inconvenience to still have to make a 3rd purchase. If you didn't need those 2 things, this is the one.

Great kit. Only 4 stars for one reason. The power cord came with in an inch or two of being too short! I think it should be 20' long instead of 17'. My 2011 F-150 Supercab 5.0 has the battery on the passenger side. The best and easiest route through the firewall is on the drivers side next to the hood latch cable. My powered sub is under the small back seat on the passengers side. (Couldn't mount under front seats because of ductwork.) It was a long run! Excellent kit. Just cut it too close with the length for me and my application.

Received the kit and it was missing the 20 and 30 amp fuses, the two butt crimps, ties, and plug. Got the power and ground cables along with a 15 amp fuse and the corrugated split wire loom. Really wasn't a big deal for me as I had what I needed on hand to make it work. Other than not receiving the full contents, this kit is good quality.

I started with an 8ga power wire from the battery to a 3-way distribution block under the dash. One wire to head unit and the other 2 to a 4 channel amp and a powered subwoofer in the trunk. I was lucky enough to fit the 4 channel amp behind the dash (Sony XMS400D). I used the 15 amp fuse the same as the 4 channel amp. For a ground I drilled a 1/8 in. hole and used some sandpaper to expose bare metal under the dash. The power wire from this kit worked as well as can be expected. I gave it a 4 star rating because of no remote wire and no RCA Cable

Great "catch-all" pack for a typical small amp install. The fuse assortment is great and the power/ground cables are all high quality with plenty of length. The shielding is a nice touch to keep the power cable from rubbing or getting overly heated under the hood.

Heavier gauge than the small 45x4 amp wires I had to connect to but now long lead on the positive wire, ground is not as long. Came with different fuses for the inline fuse so you are ready for what ever draw you need to set up for.

This amp is paired with the alpine ilx w650 head unit and together they sound amazing. It gets loud and it feels like the combo gives my speakers more power even at a lower volume. I'm tinkering with my settings to find a good balance but at flat everything still sounds great.

This worked well in my 2003 Tacoma. I think the wire loom should be a little wider in diameter, I would have liked to get both of the wires in there and they don't fit together. Other wise great and nice quality wire.

High quality parts. Installed amp in a Chevy Avalanche and there was enough red (positive) wire to go from battery mounted on passenger side fender across to driver's side fender where I could pull the wire through the firewall and then back to the amp in the center of the dash.
