Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds
Robert from Sherwood, WI on 6/18/2025
These are my first ear buds. I'm very happy with all aspects. Sound is very good and they are easy to operate. My kid has found these don't last real long so I'll be watching for that. I think I'm more careful with things..

Best Noise Cancelling Earbuds
Gary from San Diego, CA on 5/18/2025
I purchased these earbuds to create a restful quiet environment for relaxing in bed before sleep. The most important feature for me is the noise cancelling to eliminate environmental noise and these earbuds excel in that department. You can further improve the noise isolation by replacing the included silicone tips with memory foam tips that provide extra noise filtering and improve stability & comfort. The Bose app is better than average for wireless earbuds (which isn't saying much) but it does give better access to adjusting the earbuds as compared to the finicky touch controls found on this style of earbuds. The sound quality is very good but if you want the best quality sound at this price point then high quality over the ear headphones will give you better sound quality (but with more bulk and perhaps lower quality noise cancellation).
Pros: Best in class noise cancelling. Reasonably comfortable for ear buds. Reasonable battery life. Easy set-up with an iPhone or iPad.
Cons: Touch controls are over-sensitive. I found the feature that allows you to connect to both an iPhone and an iPad at the same time to be problematic.

Choose OEM products

I recently purchased some refurbished earbuds after having connection issues. I got tired and decided to do some OEM. What a major improvement over the refurbished highly recommend the OEM products very clean, clear connections and sound.

No way to replace a lost bud

Technically great, but don't lose one. Bose does not offer replacement of a single bud. Made me sad!

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds
Scott from Howard, OH on 12/1/2024
I have the Sony xm5's and the air pods pro2. The Bose have better noise cancellation and the sound is a tad better than the other two but only after tinkering with the eq. As a person who grew up in the late 70's and 80's I still find it quite remarkable that these little tiny devices can produce such amazing sound. Used to need large, heavy headphones to even come close.
Pros: Excellent noise cancellation and superb sound
Cons: A bit bass heavy right out of the box but eq amends it quite nicely

Paul from DERBY, CT on 8/27/2024
Bought 1st one and options didn't work right. Crutchfield then let me return that one to get a replacement. The replacements battery won't hold a charge after only a few months of ownership!! Couldn't be more disappointed in Bose !! Quality now sux !!
Pros: Sounds good.
Cons: Quality went out the window. Good luck in getting a product that will last.

I've always had a certain popular cell phone brand of head phones and with these, there is no comparison. And the mobile application is spot on. Crystal clear and base reminds you of their car and home audio speakers.

Best Out
Michael from DOUGLAS, MA on 6/6/2024
Best NC there is. Although they have occasional connectivity hiccups (truly, what doesn't.), it's manageable. There just isn't a better set of NC buds out there with this balance of sound features and superb noise cancellation. Immersion mode is like being in an ear testing room / vault quiet. With their comfort, low weight, and good ear seal for all sizes, they almost disappear when in the ear - they do not cause ear fatigue and that is huge compared to mostly all others. Audio quality is excellent. Call/BT isn't good. It's very hard to get consistent connection between your phone and the buds. Most of the time they simply won't transfer calls to the buds from an iPhone even though it's showing in settings it's connected to the buds for a call, it still doesnt auto connect. I actually love that these buds are perfectly simple. They combine supreme quiet, fantastic sound, one of the best designs, and the functions are pretty considerable given how easy they work while also being able to use a 3 band eq that just works. These buds have been researched and found to ALSO help like a hearing aid, and that's awesome for those looking for the closest to an all in one ear solution. Again, my only complaint and it does get aggravating at times in context, they flat out are not reliable in the call/BT department. Not knowing if they will transfer, dump the call entirely, and everything in between, that is their one but big weakness.

Downgrade
Steven John from LAFAYETTE, LA on 6/1/2024
I have had Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds for three years and decided to upgrade to this new version called Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. They are a huge disappointment. The comfort and fit is great. But the sound is terrible. There is so much ear piercing treble it is unreal. The mods are completely lifeless. The bass is completely absent. It was shocking because the previous version sounded so great. I tried different odes and adjusting controls, but nope. Ten dollar ear buds from the big discount store sound better. I checked the fut and did everything I could but still sounded terrible. The good news is Crutchfield made the return process very easy. There was a $13 charge for the return shipping which was unexpected but not bad in the grand scheme of things. My old ones still work and sound great so I am sticking with them
Pros: Good fit, comfortable
Cons: Terrible sound

Great Sound - Touch FAR too sensitive
Jeff from Steamboat Springs, CO on 5/21/2024
Truly incredible ANC and sound....BUT....the controls on the side are so sensitive I cannot even adjust them in my ears without the music pausing and sometimes skipping to the next song. It's a known problem. Just search on Reddit. I'm going to try and put tape on them to see if it helps, but it's silly that it comes to this. I love these headphones when they are playing but the touch is far, far too sensitive. No way to disable on the app. Come on Bose you are better!

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds
Guest from Sandown NH on 4/7/2024
I ordered the Technics EAH-AZ80 ear buds to replace my Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds that I loved. The noise canceling was great and they sounded good, but only lasted 2 1/2 years before having charging issues. The Technics did sound good but the volume level was a bit on the low side and the noise canceling wasn't particularly great. I use earbuds for dart matches and there is a lot of background noise. After deciding to return the Technics I ordered these Bose, based on Crutchfield recommendation. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. The sound is great, with deep bass and the noise canceling is phenomenal. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Better than both the Technics and Sony's. Thank you Crutchfield! Excellent recommendation!
Pros: Excellent sound, deep bass and phenomenal noise cancellation. And they're comfortable!
Cons: None at the moment

If this is progress, I miss the good old days
John from JEFFERSON, MD on 3/9/2024
These are a disappointment. This is my 4th pair of Bose earbuds and each pair has moved backward. The only reason I come back to Bose is they fit my ears, they stay in my ears, they sound good. I have been disappointed by the reliability of my quiet comfort earbuds, but was hoping the "ultra" would address some of my concerns. Sadly no. The good: 1) Very good sound quality. Much better than two other brands (similar price) I have tried and then returned. The bad: 1) Unreliable pairing. Almost half the time they have to go back in the case and I need to try again to get them to successfully pair. 2) Incomplete pairing. I have had issues where the earbud pair but do not actually play, just silence. Alternately, only one bud will successfully pair and the silent one needs to return to the case and repair. 3) Unreliable unpairing. Half the time I need to go into my device (ipad and iphone) and manually disconnect the device go get it to unpair. 4) Touch sensitive surfaces are easily spoofed by hats or hoods. I have dogs and cannot use these with my rain coat hood as the earbuds consider the incidental jacket contact to be stop/start or skip commands. 5) My first two Bose earbud cases had 4 or 5 lights that indicated case charge. More lights = more charge. This case has only one ambiguous light that is either white or yellow. 6) Noise canceling only effective on constant background noise like airplanes or cars.
Pros: Very good sound quality
Cons: 1 Unreliable pairing 2 Unreliable unpairing 3 Incomplete pairing 4 overly sensitive touch controls 5 ambiguous charge case status 6 Noise canceling only effective with constant background noise, like airplanes.

Great ANC, but connection issues
Don from Rochester, NY on 3/7/2024
I have owned these for a couple weeks now. I am comparing these to the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4. Phone: iPhone X Music: Phish Farmhouse Connection - Annoying. The firmware still isn't right. The headphone audio will drop out randomly. The sound will also go from sounding flat to very rich and immersive. I'm working with Bose to figure this out but I'm not the only one with the issue. ANC - The best I've experienced. with no music sounds are quiet and not distracting. With music at low volume the world around you starts to disappear. Audio - The sound is flat. Adjusting the EQ to Bass -10, Mid +4, Treble +9 is a closer approximation to the Sennheiser. Sometimes digital noise in the left earbud with no audio playing. Resetting EQ to 0 works better then tweaking existing settings up/down. Transparency - Works but isn't user adjustable. The active sense is a nice feature as I was doing some work at him with it enabled and when loud noises such as a drill were used the Bose would quiet the noise. Would be great if there was an option to pause music. Instead I have remove the earbud to say, "What did you?". Not spouse friendly. Comfort - Very comfortable. Still playing around with the wings but the oblong ear tip is much more comfortable than round. Controls - Intuitive and voice guided. I don't have to guess what mode I'm in, it tells me. I also like the slide volume control. Easier and quicker than holding like on the
Pros: ANC - is superior Controls are intuitive and announced Comfortable
Cons: Connection issues - Come on Bose get this fixed Digital noise - occurs sometimes when first putting earbuds in. Putting them in the case and trying again and issue is gone. ANC - has slight white noise effect at low volume.

Bose and Crutchfield
Christopher from Lexington, KY on 1/2/2024
WOW is all I can say. When you play your music, podcasts or anything else you may listen to, they sound like you are right there in the room with them. For example, if you listen to Dateline, it is like Keith Morrison is sitting in a room and talking to you. I have never heard sound like these earbuds produce. Well worth the cost for the quality. They stay charged for much longer than any other earbuds I have had and the charging case the same. The case recharges the earbuds at lightning speed so you can get back to listening quicker. If you are looking for earbuds that will last and will absolutely amaze you, these are the ones for you. And if you add up the cost of replacing earbuds continuously and couple that with the sound quality, the cost of the Bose equals out. I did the math and made the purchase. Lastly, I could have purchased these earbuds from any of my local big box electronics stores, but I chose to purchase them from Crutchfield. Why? Because the service and wealth of knowledge don't even come close to what you can find locally. They ship you purchase quickly and you have your Bose in you ears in just a couple of days. I really can't say enough good things about Crutchfield. I have been using them since 1991. Same quality and service then as now. Crutchfield is an amazing company. I hope this helps you make your decision. Even if you choose another set of earbuds, buy them right here from Crutchfield. You won't regret it.
Pros: Amazing sound and technology. They stay charged longer than most other earbuds. Charging case stays charged for many hours and recharge the earbuds quicker than others.
Cons: None that I have found.
